- Some Speedruns are so legendary they can transcend the game and Speedrunning itself. Sonic Adventure 2 is a game that has seen a run just like this. @Katie4 got better execution than anyone else could have expected AND some of the best RNG ever seen.

Speedruns are very fun to look at especially when you go to the Chao Garden and raise Hero Chao, Dark Chao, or maybe even a Neutral Chao? Do you think I should make a video like this about Chao? Man... SA2 runs have always been so sick. Katie's record is so good now, it seems wildly improbable that just "anyone" will be able to beat it. It will take years of hard work by someone special. GGs

I think even when this run is beaten, that doesn't mean that new wr run will be the greatest sa2 run of all time. oot is under 4 minutes now, but narcissa wright's 18:40 from almost 10 years ago is still imo the best performed oot any% run of all time. back then oot any% was a way more technical run with much more interesting skips in it than what it is today which is partially what makes that run so insane. legendary runs will always be legendary runs no matter how faster the run gets!

I only heard how hundred percent was one of the coolest thing I seen between traitor and talon. But seeing Katie demolish the wr down. I feel satisfy that a category is finally dead for a long time. I will watch or play SA2 because how satisfying the game is and other words for the pass 10 years, this is where we are now since the speed run community was born.

I wonder when the stages in SA2 will get to the level of the insane Quake 1 players, where there is just an unbeatable time. Like a time for a level/stage that is perfect and is unbeatable unless you use TAS.
Honestly this run isn’t far off. Slightly better luck is possible and maybe 10s or so of execution. They’re nearing the limit

I’ve never once heard a platformer speedrun say that something “Only saves” 7 seconds.
7 seconds is massive
Well the reason for saying that is that SA2’s major skips usually save a lot of time. Bofa saved 40s over EE Skip, CGSS saved like 25 over CGS. So something this hard saving a lot less was weird at first.

I doubt it’d be beaten for a long time. They’d have to do everything right and also not take an unlucky moment like the Crazy Gadget; unless there’s another exploit discovered some day. Idk how anyone speed runs that game with the controls it has. Game always bugs out for me on Egg Golem, every single time he does the insta homing attack. Also yeah I’m sure those Emerald Stages complicate things, just need to memorise the hints… cool video anyway about something I don’t know anything about besides the game itself!

That crazy gadget messup means this will be beaten by someone easily if anyone out there grinds the hard tricks and rng knuckles stuff. To me greatest run of all time means no mistakes and breaking barriers beyond what anyone expected to the point there is no beating it. Still a banger vid though. Also this is by means not me hating just saying that that one mistake makes this highly probable to beat if someone cared to grind the game and was as passionate as Katie out there and who knows given all the discoveries and tricks and maybe something new could still be found in the future to break Sa2 speedrunning even further.
I do think your underestimating that the CG mess up is only 6 seconds. 6 seconds across the course of this run is definitely still not in the league of a anything anyone else is even close to right now. Do i believe that one day it can be done, yeah anything is possible. But it definitely will not be easily done.
Yeah gotta agree with Deevoo here. The RNG is like 1 in a 1000 runs and the execution beats most top runners golds even still. Def the best run the game has ever seen esp since the timeloss was hardly even her fault
Glad you liked the video and like I said at the end someone will surpass it but it’s a huge statement for the time period it’s done in.
The crazy gadget death only costed 6 seconds. Even with that death, she still gets a very good time in crazy gadget alone, which makes up for the death. However, there is a possibility that someone could try and get that record, but it won’t be for a while
