Flashcards have been a lifesaver for last minute cramming/chunking. Y'all need better marketing, cos there's a lot of junk out there with more views. Thanks!

Do you guys have any tip on how to get a grip of the lac operon subject? Thanks!

I go for a pretty reductionist method when it comes to the Lac operon but you've first got to know that glucose is easier to break down and use than lactose is. That's why it's always the first choice for energy. I teach the operon as 2 scenarios, when would the lac operon be helpful (I.e. when there's no glucose but there is lactose), and when would it be wasteful (I.e. when there is glucose to metabolize or there is no lactose to metabolize). Once you know those, you can usually work your way to the correct answer. Hope that helped!

Uworld does not have a lot of memory questions. What resource did you use to pratice the content? I understand the facts but it would be nice to apply it before test day.

Hi John. I'm not sure if you will respond but I sincerely need help. I took the MCAT last month and I got a 502. Mind you I'm a CPA and mainly have an accounting background... and trying to learn this stuff is tough.... I started with a 492 (on my diagnostic) and then ended up with a 502 on the actual MCAT. I studied for about 5 months while working full time (studied about 10-15 hours a week) and then studied full time for one month before the exam. I'm going to retake it again in January. Do you have any tips for me?

You know I used to have the notebook I learned all this stuff with and took it to every single tutoring session (back when I was tutoring in-person on college campuses) and then one day, I was walking back to my car and got rained on. It smeared all the ink so they're gone forever 🥲 However, the high-yield book we're so close to publishing is basically a compilation of that!
