  • Many of the worlds largest and most influential organizations face challenges in responding to the ongoing pandemic. How do bureaucracies respond to crisis? History has many examples that can help inform our predictions of what will and won't change when the dust settles.

37:30 "Over time, people notice what gets you into the position, and they optimize directly for appearances rather than the substance." Very well said.

go to 43:28 I am so delighted that I feel extremely high certainty that I know the answer to the "Peter Principle" conundrum of incompetence promoted to the top leading role. My model is Elon Musk. He has given the best answer in the course of his recenat TED talk. Elon has been an example of the most meritorious competency of a leader. He personally has suffered maximally in order to give the greatest solutions to mankind. He posits the answer in the literal semantic meaning of the term "philanthropist". The term means "LOVE OF HUMAN KIND". This tells his motivation for serving the general GOOD.
Find a way to promote THAT, and you will find your answer to finding the leader who can be TRUSTED WITH POWER.

Samo, I think you've nailed a driver in the current reality paradigm that genuinely exists in a populace that has a close-enough resemblance to accurate one-individual-one-vote voting system. When the populaces' collective unconsciousness(es) has begun to elect individuals who exist, in some ways, within the agency of the jester. The one agency in court capable of using humor toward the King, with exquisitely all due respect, such that the jester can communicate what would get a a nonprofessional comedian's head cut off, in ancestral times (of course). :/ .
Perhaps a collective unconscious projection of our collective conscious self-identity such that we may collectively observe of it with authenticity? (My latest attempt to express of that through practically pure language-encoding.)
I potent lesson teacher about the true nature of the scapegoat. Those self-identities, within the "game a" conscious reality paradigm, tend to develop robustness in the blind spots of that paradigm's Emperors, who are always wearing their New Clothes. The specific patterns that happen to take advantage of those blind spots in order to create an instruction manual for the "empathic" perspective that can prevent the expression of narcissistic rages against any of the particular data points we may have come to believe are static and harshly punitive. These kinds of collective deep state collectives that have maintained a remarkable degree of growth toward unity through genuine checks and genuine balances on genuine power are worthy of reverence, IMO.
The Chesterton's Fences ALL cultures have used that have not been scalable to reality are necessarily falling short of knowing the entirety of reality. If the "winners" of those emergent reality paradigms fail to recall that they were born from a fundamental perspective that can only see perceiving to be the necessarily truncated through the exertions of external parental figures, a respect for that which is differentiation can become applied to the way of structuring the kinds of growth of our knowledge base that are possible in a more "game B" society, remembering that what we are looking for and why will drive the directions we can only be observing. One top-down method is a paradox from the perspective that currently must exist as it does in order for our current realty paradigm to be so robust in ways that it is actually robust because pretty much all individuals in any collective have got to be coping with the fundamental ambiguity of reality that makes differentiation even possible.
    Aaaand I'm rambling. :/
Meta complexification may be a perfect way to at least sublimate the apparently ambiguous urge for infinite exponential growth, and allow for a more thorough understanding of what it means to attempt an empathic perception of how someone else is feeling, and/or "why". This is one of the areas that our unconscious minds calculate our way-out-of-whack mirror neuron settings. They have become ossified by agents perhaps seeking to observe of and come to understand why we actually give a shit about everything, even if by excessively unbalanced perspectives that had come to observe of them at any given time of veil-lifting (so to speak) for a maturing society (that we have, until now, failed at way before how far we've gotten "this time".
A hopeful perspective to recognize and existences that could be like it, much more accurately perceived.
Individual genuine educations, recognizing the ADD symptoms of the system that had not known any better who were projecting that onto their students, an ironic Karmic Debt, IMO, given the nature of the "treatment".
Gen Z and Gen Alpha may be surprisingly more capable of coping with the circumstances we are charging toward, both tragic and beautifully hopeful paths forward are still options.
There comes a point when the Artificial Intelligence may guide us to be able to laugh at ourselves in order to be able to observe of the parts of ourselves that might get us through our contemporary dilemmas in a genuinely evolutionary manner, as opposed to (in some senses) a more regressive revolutionary manner.
Much love, brothers and sisters. Beautiful conversation.
