    You can get kicked out of a movie in UK for using your phone as they ask you to turn them off before the film begins ensuring everyone enjoys their night out.

    I would never use a phone (or talk) at a cinema - but I've also stopped going because my ADHD brain can not just sit and passively watch a movie for 2 hours without doing something else.
    I need Pantomime levels of crazy things going on in real time for me to stay focused for that long!

    Comment from the reddit post for Story 3: "The reality is they are going to live in a messy house unless he does everything himself. She isn't changing."
    Story 4: If you're in a VIP theater, why would you be on your phone and chatting during the movie??? And having it on full brightness and full volume?? I'd say throwing the popcorn is less disrespectful than her behavior. You AND THE OTHER PEOPLE paid good $$ to be there. Put the phone away!!!

      Story 6: YTA: I'm hearing a lot of "I want" in this story. She's married and pregnant. She needs to be a team player, and she's not acting like one. And if she goes against her husband's wishes, on joint finances, she's putting down the flag that his input doesn't necessarily matter.

      @icygubler did you catch the detail about how her husband drives a $70K sports car though? That's about the cost of a new Porsche Cayenne.

    • @icygubler
      @icygubler 6 місяців тому

      @MrsHorseFeathers I did. But that was presumably bought before they were expecting. It also doesn't change what was said about safety features, or again and more importantly, the facts that he said no and this joint $.

    Wait?! So husband has a sports car he wants and he’s telling the wife to get a more sensible car? 🫤He’s being sexist. So it’s ok for him to have a cute tiny car but she’s gotta have something more appropriate for a family? Am I missing something? If not….BS!!! That’s BS! I vote he should have to drive a damn minivan 😂. That’s the thing she’s been dreaming of….she should have it.

      I didn't hear it like the guy was an AH - it sounded like she could have bought what she wanted whenever, she could have bought a sports car years ago. Now that they are having a kid, She wants the family car. He didn't object to the price, he just thinks it makes no sense to pay the same price for a lesser car. She's only looking at the Porsche name, he's looking at everything else. I'm guessing after she gets it - she'll realize she doesn't need it and wants the roomier car with a better safety rating and more features. But it does sound like she needs to get it to realize she has already made it and a brand name isn't gonna make a difference in her life.

    • @CH-px1fw
      @CH-px1fw 6 місяців тому

      @@jodypaulson4613 I see what you are saying but still….he had the car he wants…. Why doesn’t he get the sensible car with better safety features and more trunk room? He should apply his logic to himself as well and trade his car in for exactly what he’s saying is a better choice. He’s gonna continue to drive his little sports car without the extra room and the safety features and likely not be able to tote the kids around in it thus creating an opportunity for him to be less helpful to his partner…who also works…if he was trading his car in with the plan for both of them to have equally family appropriate cars…then I’d agree with what you are saying but I think what he’s doing is selfish. They will both be parents to the same darn kids. Why is she the only one that should have a “more sensible family car”? And on top of that she has expressed to him that this was her dream. She needs to get the damn car. She’ll always think about it. She worked hard for years imaging herself in that car only to have a man talk her out of it while he drives his fancy little sports car….no ma’am….not at all. If she buys the car….and finds it impractical and hates it, she can trade it in or she can actually lease one. To us and her husband, obviously, it’s just a car but to her it is part of her dream. The reason I think he’s an asshole is because he negated that. He should’ve been supportive and cheered her on especially when she’s about to commit herself to being everything for everyone…this one thing is for her as an individual.

    I just want to say my "made it" car is the one with NO PAYMENTS! I still drive an old 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis! Leather interior. Wood grain paneling AND a cassette player that actually works. ❤ seats 6, comfortably with enough room in the trunk for a full sized spare tire and 4-6 adults!

    The wealthy woman, I love that you said she needs new friends. Real friends would not have snooped, and real friends would not have gotten mad at her for not telling them she was rich. If it were me, I would've been furious at the friend who snooped and told her that OPs finances were none of her or our business. Those aren't friends. OP needs to cut and run.

    Final story: As Dusty himself has said, "You can't be an a-hole for feeling something, it's what you do with that feeling." So, for disliking cake? NTA. To each their own.
    For how you handled disliking cake? YTA, for sure. We've been over this: Just because someone upset you does NOT give you the right to poison them. And like the prom girl daughter, OP weaponized cake to do it. Yikes.

    If you go read ops comments under story 3 it gives so much context. Wife has more money leftover every month than op after he took over all bills and is not asking her to cover other than her car expenses and 75$ a month for groceries. Im just blown away by the entitlement of the wife that he is the only one making sacrifices and she just wants to keep coasting in luxury! Wouldn't fly in my house.

    The housecleaning service story: NTA. He already compromised and found middle ground when they married. She’s not working enough to afford this luxury. And yes, it’s a luxury. She doesn’t LIKE to clean. That’s a her problem. She should pick up after herself as she’s making mess so it doesn’t accumulate in a mess. He already does his share of chores around the house, so her argument he benefits from the service too is ridiculous. She’s a spoiled brat who needs to adult. NTA. NTA. NTA.

    So the gal who’s frugal but wealthy has friends, and I say that lightly, who are now proving her point as to why she shouldn’t let people know she had money. Sounds like it’s time to find new friends
    And the one who went into the office and went through your private documents… That was no friend to begin with! Friends ask you about your personal situation if they want to know.

    For the phone in the movie theater story. I agree that the girl is an assconaut, however, I would say that OP is at a minor a-hole level of 4. By loudly telling her to put the phone away ans then throwing popcorn at her causing her to raise her voice back at him caused more distractions for everyone else in the room, er go adding to the problem. He could have just quietly flagged down a staff member to point out the girl and either she would stop or she would be removed.
    OP's intentions were good, but he went about it in a way that pushed him into the realm of a-hole.

    Story #6: That's BS!!!!
    I've personally lived most of my life around the poverty line. It's none of my business. What's in any of my friends' bank accounts. I'm not entitled to anything. Now, if they suggest an activity outside my price range and I decline because of it. I've had friends pick up the difference, but that was your choice, and they offered.

    Nah f that girl she was a distraction at the movie. My sister had to ask the usher to kick some kids out because they wouldn't shut the hell up. Talking the entire movie to the point I couldn't follow the storyline because I was distracted by their talking.

    Story 4: Sounds like she wasn't really on the movie, maybe she was there just to keep company to her friend but dune is a chunk of movie, tbh or she was commenting (I've used my phone in movies because I sometimes "go to the movies" with long-distance friends if I don't have anyone in my geographic area to watch the movie with.
    But it was wrong on her part to have the bright at max, even sounds a little too harsh on the eyes, and see videos is a NO.
