I can remember thinking I was the fastest thing on 2 wheels on my ZX9R.
An RG250 went round me on a bend like I was standing still.
This looks lovely, such a sweet handling bike before you boys have massive improved it.
Lovely job
Ha yeah on the twisty bits these are something quite special to ride so don’t feel to bad about it :) , thanks appreciate it
Wow!
Best way to feel 18 again.... love it!
Thanks, yeah that is for sure .. I feel warm blood running around my body everytime I ride it … I think the 2 stroke oil comes straight for the fountain of youth 😂
@@ProjectMoto How can I forget the days when I use to turn up on a date wearing Castrol R rather than Old Spice muck😂
Wot a lovely bike...roll on the next video
Thanks , appreciate it, yeah very happy .. as soon as it’s painted there be another on it.. but still others in between:)
Really impressed with the rebuild, the bike looks amazing👍 Incredible how a 30 year old bike still looks smart, Suzuki & aprilia got it ‘spot-on’ with their 250’s😁
Thanks , I’m very happy , I just keep looking at it and thinking how is that bike over 30 years old.. what a brilliant job they all did with these 250’s back then :)
Those down swept pipes take me back to the early 70s MX racing days trying to tame my Honda CR125M and 250M Elsinores..Can't remember how many I replaced but it was a few.
"Do you even lift Liam?" Paul cracks me up 😂. Great stuff Martin - looking forward to seeing the finished bike finished 👌
😂😂 thanks , I can’t wait for the paint to be finished and get out on it .. hopefully the weathers a bit better by then too
Great stuff as always, keep them coming.
Thanks appreciate it, glad you enjoyed it :)
What a sweet ride! can't wait to see the finished article. I can almost smell the two stroke from here 🤤
Thanks , I can’t wait now either 😂 it smells so good :)
Piece of art!!
Ha yeah for sure, really happy.. I just keep looking at it 😂😂
Awesome bike.. I had a tzr 125… Last century lol
Thanks , ha, sounds a long time ago when you say that! I like a 125 for a blast around the lanes
if that bike was on Tinder it would get all the candy. Best channel for tea and biscuit chats ever haha. Aww that 996 chilling in the corner, gasp.
Ha thanks , she’s a looker for sure , you have to be careful though as sometimes they can be a little dangerous and crazy 😂 I do like a 996 as well :)
Great vid……. Bike is superb!
And didn’t realise you were hydrophobic 🤣🤣
Thanks , wait til you see it in person !! Ha Yeah I like my water to swim in 😂
@@ProjectMoto 😃
Factory👍
Thanks , I’m so happy with it so far :)
Beautiful !
Thanks , appreciate it , I just keep looking at it :)
The bike is amazing, rebuilding a RS250 at the moment but your RGV is next level.
Thanks, appreciate it, RS250’s are really nice, I used to ride them back when they came out, awesome bit of kit👌
Ring a ding ding… looks good👍
Thanks mate, getting there.. just the paint .. then we can go out on the 2 strokes in the summer ??
You know I hate motorcycles 😁
@@andythorpe1884 😂😂😂
We’re see… who knows.. maybe 🤔
There’s always a possibility 😊
Looks and sounds great. Can’t wait to see the RGV when painted. Thanks Martin for taking the time to show us around your bikes and the showroom when Ipswich Triangle MCC visited Hyside last week. Would certainly recommend as a destination to others. Cafe also excellent.
Thanks , yeah I can’t wait to see it painted now myself , that’s ok mate was nice talking to you all , thanks for coming down , hopefully will see you when the weather is a bit better :)
Absolutely love the videos love seeing all the nice bikes especially the early bikes but the banter that goes on in that tea room😂 absolute class
Thanks , appreciate the comments , a bit of bikes , old and new and a bit of chat and laughs, what more do you want really :)
Looking great., be shit hot in lucky strike colours. Look forward to seeing it out on the road
Thanks , appreciate it, yeah I’m so happy with the bike.. can’t wait for the paint to be done now and get out on the road !!
Absolutely fantastic to see it all coming together and building it up with your mates,, could not be better,, from northern Ireland ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
Thanks , appreciate it , building a bike can be a little frustrating at times but if you do it with your mates it does help, you just have to always remember what your aiming for and what it will be when it’s done, I’m well happy with it, can’t wait for the paint now :)
What a wicked little beast!...always looks like a lot of fun at your place.....
Thanks, I’m so happy with how it’s turned out.. can’t wait for the paint now.. ha well sometimes it is.. it’s not all bikes , tea and taking the piss .. wait hold on , it kind of is 😂
RGV is going to be a sure stunner
Thanks , just looks so cool , can’t wait for the paint !
Great watch, mega job! Can’t wait to see it when it’s painted 😊
Thanks glad you enjoyed it .. neither can I , as soon as it’s finished up do another video on it …and take it out for a ride :)
Breathtaking, one of my all time favourite bikes. It could only be improved by fitting an RG500 engine, chassis can easily handle it. But great job, just amazing how cool an 'old' bike can be.
Thanks, appreciate it, yeah I will ride it this summer and then when the weather turns probably do something with the engine (unless I blow it up before then😂) I’m so happy with it, considering it’s over 30 years old still look pretty amazing
Absolutely gorgeous. Cant wait to see it painted. Congrats on a beautiful bike!
Thanks, appreciate it , can’t wait for the paint now, I just keep looking at it 😂
It's looking and sounding great fellas.
Thanks, yeah I’m really happy with it , can’t wait for the paint now.. and some warmer weather :)
Wow she's looking awesome that fairing is awesome + the pipes & she's gonna look awesome once painted nice job fellas!!👌🏻👍🏻😃

@ProjectMoto The paint job will totally change the look can't wait to see her finished!!👌🏻👍🏻😁
first kick. amazing. bring on the warm weather.
It’s even more amazing that the engine was rolling around my van for months 😂 crazy really , just shows how awesome they are 😎
Congratulations, she’s beautiful and sounds right too
Thanks , yeah she sure is , I keep just looking at it all the time :)
The bike looks ffing super 2 stroke heaven Congrats
Thanks , mate I’m so happy with how it’s looking , can’t wait for the paint.. and the weather now
Beautiful work of Art! Excellent! Can’t wait to see it finished

Your reactions sums it up.
What can ya say but Man!
Yeah mate, so happy .. just .. Man.. look at it 😍
What a fantastic looking bike, good choice on lucky strike colours.
Thanks a lot, yeah spoke to the painter on Saturday and he has the same vision as me , it goes off next week, can’t wait :)
Looks amazing and sounds luvly - nice and crisp.
Thanks, yeah surprisingly it’s just running perfect, will ride it properly and see what fine tuning we need to do but I’m very happy with it , can’t wait for the paint
Fantastic!
Thanks, I’m very happy :)
Lovely job boys looking forward to seeing the finished article love two strokes 😊❤
Thanks , I just want to see it all painted now , two strokes are the best :)
Looks awesome what a machine… when the paint hits the body work it will be a different bike love it 😍
Thanks, yeah it just looks so cool … can’t wait for the paint now ,spoke to the painter yesterday and it’s going off next week :)
Looks spot on...very interested as i have one too 👍🏾
Thanks , yeah I’m very happy , oh awesome , have you done an RGV with TYGA bits as well?
No, this was originally the Performance Bikes project bike few years ago and owned by PB's Johnny Mac. It was restored extensively before I bought it last year.
@@sonnybobal4643 oh nice sounds good ,I didn’t see about the bike, il try and have a look up about it
great job looks fantastic
Thanks , appreciate it, I’m so happy with how it’s turned out.. paint next :)
WOW!! that looks absolutely amazing, you guys have certainly done it justice. I bet that ones going to be a keeper! You can see the joy in your face Martin when the fairing goes on. Excellent! I have just bought my sixth bike but its not another Ducati, its a 1974 Suzuki GT380 triple which I plan to restore but it hasnt ran for 26 years! Keep up the EXCELLENT work guys!! many thanks for the content! 👍🏍🏍👍
Thanks a lot, appreciate it, yeah it has turned out just how I wanted it to, can’t wait for the paint and the summer! The GT380 will be worth doing , there’s ups and downs in restoring bikes, you just have to remember some times why your doing it and think about the end result, I’m so happy with the RGV :)
Brilliant, I’ve been looking forward to this.
Thanks .. can’t wait until it’s finished now , it’s been a while but was worth the wait in the end :)
@@ProjectMoto And also the banter between you two, makes my day.
@@nicolasetherton2534 ha thanks, glad you enjoy it :)
Big Congratulations 🍾
Thanks, I’m so happy with it :)
Jealous man, I want one! Looks amazing. 👊
Thanks, yeah I’m really happy, wanted to one of these for so many years after owning RGV’s back in the day , so happy with the bike
Luvit! ❤
Thanks, yeah so do I 😍😎
Great channel and content. Proper. Looking forward to you investigating the Multi RS soon?
Thanks, appreciate it.. we have one here having some parts put on it then I get to ride it, really looking forward to seeing how that V4 engine works in the RS
Damn, that is fucking awesome! very jealous, great build guys. You should do more of these.
Thanks, yeah I just keep looking at it 😂 so cool, can’t wait now to see it all painted :)
I wish I kept my rgvm. Bloody nice ❤
Yeah they are so cool, there’s so many bikes I wish I still had, you just don’t think about it at the time, you just move on to your next bike
Nice👍🏻
Thanks , appreciate it :)
Love rgv's❤
They are just so cool 😎
Awesome 😂😂
Thanks, appreciate it :)
Yeehaa, banger start to the week. Near pissed meself when Paul busted out the Fu@kface to Cody in the tearoom 😂😂😂. Bike's looking the goods well done my man. Can't wait for paint video.
😂😂ha I liked that too 😂😂 thanks , appreciate it, as soon as it’s painted there will be a video , can’t wait
Coz I’m heavily on the Spectrum I’ve never liked the “shotgun” look so I’m glad you backed them. The exhaust hangers and clamps are horrible, no brackets on the silencers please ( tig a little bracket on the main pipe).
Yeah I just preferred the look of the exhaust’s either side , personally I wanted the brackets , I did look at no brackets but just wanted them in the end :)
I'd have that in Skoal Bandit colours, looks bloody fab though already!!! I'm one jealous man.
Thanks, tbh choosing the colour was hard but as I had a lucky strike RGV back on 94’ I think it was always going to be that.. I have an NC30 with TYGA body kit too that has to be spayed… I think it’s going to be Rothmans colours just to go with this but don’t know yet
@@ProjectMotoIt's all down to personal preference, If I had a Honda I'd go for Rothmans all day long. Looking forward to seeing the RGV complete.
Awesome, the parts selection & finish is stunning, sounds sweet too! Tyga pipes look lovely, so tempted to fit some to my RGV after feeling how heavy the original pipes are.
Maybe some JDM spec RGV mirrors would suit the Tyga bodywork better, they are a bit sleeker than the stock UK mirrors and are still available to buy.
Top job mate.🙂
Thanks , I’m very happy with it all and all the parts , will go through it all in the ping video when it’s finished, the TYGA pipes are well worth it, stock pipes are so much heavier as well , I will check those mirrors out so thanks, tbh I don’t really want mirrors for the look but I hate riding on the roads without them especially if I’m with other bikes.. also I can’t look over my should as easy as I could when I was younger 😂
I can only imagine the cost 😂 money well spent
Yeah it’s cost a bit for sure.. but it’s worth every penny to me… next video with the paint is out tomorrow
Fucking awesome!
Thanks , can’t wait for the paint now .. looks so cool already :)
👏👏👏👏
Thanks 😎
@@ProjectMoto Jealous. 😂 Loved how easy it started up. 👍 I bet the smell of that bike instantly makes you feel like a teenager again.
Put some vhm heads on and 12 degree vhm pistons / lectron carb she be flying please look it up it the Cream of rgv parts
I will be doing something to the engine at the end of the year so I will definitely check these out, thanks
Love it, looks like it will be identical to mine. I had to trim the belly pan a little to get a good fit. Also changed the battery to an antigravity and laid it flat as the top of the battery just hit the tail.
Are you going down the Zeeltronic path?
Thanks, oh cool , yeah I had to trim a little bit of the lower fairing to get it to fit but wasn’t too bad , don’t know what I’m going to do with the engine yet , I’m going to use the bike for the summer and then start on the engine and decide when the weather changes what to do.. thanks for the info :)
Great bike got to love two strokes, i have built a Rainey replica and i used Motogadget bar end LED indicators and mirrors. Really pleased with them, check them out
Thanks … mate the Rainey YZR500 in Marlboro colours is one of my all time favourite bikes , awesome, I will check them out, thanks for the info :)
Wicked bike! Who's doing the paintwork?
Thanks , there’s a guy near us called Gary at Spray Point , he does a really good job, he came down Saturday and we had a chat and he knows exactly how I want it , going to start this week :)
Bike is beautiful 😍.. trying to get my hands on an rgv would love to tyga the hell out of it.. what would you say it stands you ? Best of luck with it
Thanks appreciate it, well something like this can be a bottomless pit tbh, depending on what you want , first you got to get the bike obviously, that price could change depending on the bike you buy, by one mechanically sound, for me the body work state didn’t matter too much as I was changing it all, you can look on Jap4Performace (UK TYGA) for TYGA prices but if you are going to do similar body work/exhausts/rear sets etc it’s going to cost about £2.5k I guess?? Then you got whatever you want to spend on suspension anything £500 to £2k, I went a more expensive way with Ohlins but you can do what you want, also there’s loads of other things ..tyres, brake pads & discs, chain & sprokets , bearings, radiator etc, all this could cost another £1k , your paintwork, powder coating etc could be £1.5k - £2k depending on what you want … and that’s without doing any thing to the engine and electronics , obviously it can be more or less depending on the initial cost of the bike and then what you want to do, I knew what I wanted to do and how I wanted it so wasn’t bothered about the cost but as you can see it can start mounting up , there’s so much more I could do as well 😂
😂😂 thanks for taking the time out to reply.. really appreciate it.. I have been searching for a reasonably priced and condition rgv but no joy.. I bought one (or so I thought) on autoscout in Italy.. sent money and the fecker went dark!! Stung and sick all in one sitting.. Good news the bank are chasing back the transfer so fingers crossed 🤞.. do you know of any for sale or is it a matter of looking in classifieds? Again thanks for the reply I'm not jealous at all 😂😂.. I races an rgv in Ireland early 90s so it nostalgia that's pushing this.. have to say I'm smitten with your rgv.. ride it well and ride it safe.. ❤
Should have kept it standard and painted the original bodywork
Tbh I had standard ones but I have always wanted to do one of these like this with the TYGA bodywork , I just like that 250cc GP look
@@ProjectMoto i just don’t get that as what gp bike is it supposed to look like ? …..
@@motoboggle7525 an old 90’s 250cc , I haven’t made it for anyone but myself and it’s how I want it so I’m happy :)
Was the radiator one from china on eBay..? I need one just wasn’t sure about the quality
I bought it from eBay , I think it was from Winner Racing , received it in 2 days and was all good :)
@@ProjectMoto great yes it was winner racing, i’m in the middle of restoring my vj21 we have lots of tyga goods too 😃
I feel ashamed that I was 50 mins late for this 😢
Don’t feel ashamed.. your here now and that’s what counts :)
@@ProjectMoto looks spot on fella! Role on the paint! Are you going to fine tune the carbs to the pipes / filters or are you happy with how it runs etc?
@@pelliottvlogs929 thanks, it actually runs fine at the moment, haven’t ridden properly yet so I’m sure there will be some fine tuning to do.. end of the year I will probably do something with the engine ..maybe 300cc kit.. tuned engine would be nice
Just lop a RG500 engine in there….
So much work and funds to build a ”special” - and still no dry clutch. What a waste of time and money.
Well it’s not a ‘special’ , it’s a bike I’ve wanted to build for ages, mainly for the look of it, I haven’t touched the engine yet, will be doing that at the end of the summer as I will be riding it first… as for the dry clutch I don’t even know if I will be doing that , it’s not been a waste of my time or money at all, in fact the total opposite, I’m really happy , the good thing about building something like this is you can do it just how you want it to be :)
That RGV looks wicked now.
Has Compo tried to buy it off you yet, or is it too modern for him?
Thanks .. ha no he knows it’s not for sale , he will get to ride it .. he does want an RGV now but he’s just bought a Z1000 and CBX1000 so I guess we’re have some videos on them when the weather is a bit better
