    Just got a sub my guy. This is gonna be my first ever hobby grade car that I plan on modding for the first time in my life. Gonna try it out out of the box when I get it but definitely gonna get rubber tires to do other stuff like touring and just getting the speed and grip out of it aside from drifting. I’m excited.

    Thx Troy from West TN here in Memphis. Glad to see this done on video. Since I do not have any LHS with tracks here I drift my Vaterra, Kyosho, MST AMG, Yoko, etc. in my 3-car garage/warehouse floor/cafeteria floor clean floors. I change all my rim tires to the rubber Vaterra or similar slicks... for what I like to do I get the grip with speed but on those slick floors, plenty of power drifts to keep it exciting. Even the 2WD MST's (AMG & Skyline, 2WD Yoko) do the same the rear handles it well so far...I do have MST metal rear gears ready if it becomes an issue. Those slick Vaterra or Vaterra-like tires I find on Amazon gives me plenty of drift action for what I can do with time for an older guy. My rubber has far less grip than yours here so I get more spin off the line not as grippy. If I ever get anywhere near middle TN will come to that LHS and hope to see you there. Keep up the great work, Sir, and thank you!!

    Your right! The best were the stock mix blend of plastic and rubber tires, but I also really loved those white wheels on this car with the Amazon special tires. Those things didn’t slide too bad , but hooked up nice once straightened out! Educational comparison Troy! Kudos brother!👊🏼😃

    im running a rubber tire up front and hard plastic out back to prevent understeer under deceleration, its a rwd but it helps out on the hard tile and wood i drive on.

    Throw on a Protek RC Black label 170 sbl super high-speed drift servo and watch the transitions turn into butter. It's so insanely good.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  2 роки тому

      I'm not sure the servo is an issue - but I am happy to try.

    Can you help me? I just bought mine new yesterday and when I’m driving it the batterey only seems to last 15 minutes max before it cuts out and won’t drive due to low voltage protection. But that’s not even my problem I’ll turn it on be in the middle of a slide and the car will beep and stop the throttle but I can still turn the wheels. I have to wait until it reconnects to finish driving. Any ideas it’s not like it’s far away losing its signal

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  Рік тому

      Hmm. Really interesting.
      The running 15min is pretty normal for a nimh battery. A lipo will get you a lot more run time.
      For the stopping part:
      1) check that the ESC is in nimh mode, not lipo mode. There is a jumper you need to move. The manual shows you where.
      2) when the car stops, check the ESC and receiver for lights. That will help guide your troubleshooting.

    Question sir. I'm about to buy this car along with 7 other friends so we can do racing league on a asphalt circle track. Can these cars race track circuits and circle tracks not just drift ?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes! That is a really fun idea!

    I wish there was a rwd conversion kit for this car so I could.get one as an extra for new people when I go to the track

      @RoadsideRC  2 роки тому

      There are a couple 3D printed versions - but honestly, you will spend more making this car RWD than just buying a proper chassis.

  • @Drunken_Hamster

    Yeah, the touring car tires are probably TOO rubbery/sticky of a compound.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  7 місяців тому +1

      Yep - they typically are. But are a blast if you don't want to drift.

    any way to switch out those grippy tires for the drift ones on those white rims? im looking for white rims but drift tires for my redcat lightning

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  6 місяців тому

      100% - actually a lot of different companies make white wheels for 1/10 touring/drift.
      Here is a grouping from AMain. All of these will fit standard drift tires.
      Wheels: alnk.to/dAmeh9L
      Compatible tires: alnk.to/1XWdxl2
