Loved them together. I am so glad Mike realized before he died they were no joke. They were respected and loved. Mickey is the only one left as of 4 25 2023. The Monkees stood for love creativity essence and spirit. Gods Blessings to you all.
This is HEADQUARTERS 2.0 with Justus. They sounded great, & this is what they've wanted all along: creative control. 🎶🎵 Congrats on that feat for all FOUR of you!! By the way,, thanks for posting this to document the legacy of Peter, Micky, Davy & Mike. Thank you guys.. RIP Davy & Peter 🙏
Mick is one of the most iconic voices in history. Peter is such a complete and acomplished musician. David and Mike made their presences wonderfully. The best live performance by the Monkees. There was such good energy among them by that time. Then, things started to fall apart. I am glad they made this appearence. What a band!
Mickey Dolenz has an almost identical voice to that of Paul McCartney ...... listen to McCartney harmonizing on "Dr. Robert," "If I Fell," and on the final line of "Nowhere Man." Listen to Dolenz harmonize at the ends of "Last Train to Clarksville," and "I'm a Believer."
Mickey has one of my all time favorite singing voices ...and man can he play the drums well! So great to see all 4 here. But we’ll never see that again, sadly.
I love they way they sound together, the sound is rawer and harder than when it's fleshed out with others.Long Live The Monkess - Justus is a great album..
"Now it seems we are all still together / When all the others never made it through". How true. In 2022, Micky is still carrying the legacy of the voice of the '60s most of us knew.
One thing I've appreciated about the Monkees is how they can keep up with the times; they're not stuck in the sixties. Thanks for posting this. Already in my favorites.
They proved that they were great no matter how many years since the Monkees series! I will always love the Monkees. They rocked when the other band groups faded away. Broke my heart when Davy passed away, but he will live forever in our hearts.
So sad that I never got to see this footage until now, when the only living monkee is Mickey. One of my favorite tv shows, bands, and underdog musician stories, and I always was blown away with them as musicians through the years while other musicians didn't get it. Love them, love the songs, absolutely love this concert!
Awwwwwww...this is wonderful and so touching. Thank you for uploading. I sure hope Rock and Roll Hall of Fame QUICKLY pulls something out of their...bag of tricks and get these guys inducted. RIP David, Peter and Michael 🙏🏻
The live version of Oh What A Night came out particularly good! The live version of Admiral Mike comes out sounding a little more like a '60's psychedelic song than it does on the record. Heavy, man! I have always been annoyed at Rhino's total failure to release any live recordings from this era. Thanks so much for sharing!! Really wish I could have been present at one of the live shows with all four. I did get to see them live in Atlanta in 1986, and among the solo concerts I was privileged to attend I got to see Mike Nesmith. So I did get to see all four Monkees ultimately, just not on the same stage at the same time. So this is really a treat. Thank you again.
Absolutely marvelous, since 6yrs old now 57 love my Monkees, miss Davy rip sweet man. This is truly great all together and wonderful music, if you dont believe me all you have to do is listen to the band, wink! Magic fingers forever, thank you very much, bravo!
I've been watching tons of videos and have never seen him play as well as this night! In more recent years he slipped back into the way he played before.
Unbelievable. A made for TV band became a real band and actually pulled it off. Micky became extremely prolific on the drums and Peter and Mike could always play. Micky's voice is one of the greats in rock and roll history. These guys belong in the rock and roll hall of fame. They are unique in the annals of rock and roll history.
I never realized that circle sky is like nashville punk! AWESOME to see everyone doing it all so well, and davey playing instruments which he gradually did more and more and more through the years
Absolutely. It’s a fact that he could play 12 different instruments! Even Nez said in an interview Peter was the most musically talented of the 4. Each one great in their own and together
It's hard to believe that Micky was recruited and learned drumming on scene nearly 50 years ago, and become the prolific drummer at last. He has quite stong timing and sing it at the same time. He's really kick! For Mike and Pete, not much surpirsing about them. They were already accomplished musicain back then. For Dave, yes he is the forever monkee and memorable frontman.
Mickey is a guitarist first. For the TV show someone needed to play the drums. Peter and Mike refused to give up their guitars. Davy was too short to sit behind the drums. Mickey got the role of the drummer. The Monkees are very talented and versatile

This is so great! I never saw this footage. It is so great to see all of them together. I wish they would induct them in the rock and roll hall of fame. They deserve every bit of it. Even though our beloved Davy is gone they should do it. I wish I knew how to contact someone but I have no clue. Something should be done before God forbid they are no longer with us. They made albums on there own way after the show and proved the critics wrong and the butt heads still will not budge. we should help
I saw him and Peter when they played in Sydney Australia in December 2016 and they had two drum sets on stage and Mickey played a few numbers on drums during the show.Peter was fantastic on Guitar Banjo and Keyboards.
I saw their 3rd to the last show - ever. Seattle 2021. I was quite blown away by the fans and their overwhelming love for the guys, it was really touching, unlike any concert I’ve ever attended.
Thank You. I grew up with these guys. I'm 31yrs old. My mom was a groupie, so she had ALL the vinyl and played them often. Again, thanks for posting this.
Four talented guys whom were gathered each from the far ends of the land. Mickey, California (duh!).... Michael Nesmith ---- Texas. Dallas, Texas. (nuff-said). Peter Tork ---from New York. And our sweetheart ------ Davey Jones from Manchester, England. UK.
Noticed that there is another cameraman moving around in the back of the stage. Wouldn't it be great if they edited all the footage together in professional digital release.
I saw them at the Greensboro Coliseum in July '67, and I could barely hear them because of the girls screaming. Stupid girls! But seriously, why aren't these guys in the R&R Hall of Fame?
One month earlier I WAS one of those stupid girls at the Hollywood Bowl. I used to make fun of Beatlemania....until a couple years later and I was the perfect age to immerse myself in Monkeemania. No, could not hear a thing at that concert and I just cried through it, I was so moved to see these guys in person, but went home the happiest almost-14-year-old girl on the planet. :D
thank for posting .love the monkees then, now and forever RIP davy they will be toghter in another time and place they were broth togther to make the world shine with peace and love fear not tomorrow god is already there . the love of family is life,s greatest blessing .god is great all the time
@@marieweiss1634 I adored his voice...so unique and so much fun, other times moved me to tears. Met the man twice, what a blessing. Still love him, still miss him.
Saw them perform from a boxcar at the Del Mar Train Station in '67. Then again in 2016 after Davey died in San Diego. The girls went nuts at both concerts. Quality music and a very tight band. Justus was a great comeback album! The Monkees were good enough to be in the Rock-'n'-roll Hall Of Fame already. What's the delay?
all the crap about who doesn't get along with who & who's arguing about what flies out the window once they are onstage...as a musician, I know that there has to be, at least, a lot of respect for each other to be putting on a performance like this...all 4 of them are in the zone & seem to be enjoying themselves...great post! love it

Stage sound was not as good as there other concerts. However I can't believe how well they aged. I know I haven't but then I never was that dang cute either. Even for a chick!! Just loved all of them.
Actually they all could play from the very start, but probably weren't fully ready to record all of the first releases without having a enough time to get in sync, work out how they fit together, plus lot of rehearsal time to bring them up to speed. If they weren't doing a tv show at the same time, they probably could've gotten there pretty fast.
@@RSEFX Yup, doing a weekly show, constant interviews, photo shoots, it's a wonder they learned as fast as they did and by Headquarters they were doing it all. Amazing guys!

Their last live performance as a quartet in the US. :( Very glad that this footage exists, though!

Good to see this at last! What a revelation to watch Papa Nez play some great guitar solos live as he did on the Justus cd.They ROCKED the joint!

Definitely generational music! 3 generations for my family.
Great performance by a group who was meant to have been "fictitious" and it shows I
THE Monkees showed they could play heavy Rock too !
Just incredible!

Why wasn't the professionally filmed version ever released? Steppin Stone - more full of bile than I've ever heard. excellent

5:30 Very cool to see them play Regional Girl live. No doubts about being a real band.
I was impressed how Davy performs on his set. His vocals compare somewhat to that other David Jones (Bowie) except Davy looks like an Earthling.
Jerry Modjeski yes think his vocals under appreciated
