I’ve updated my ranking upon re-listening to all of the albums. 13. Undisputed Attitude (1996) 12. Diabolus In Musica (1998) 11. Divine Intervention (1994) 10. Christ Illusion (2006) 9. Haunting the Chapel (1984) 8. Show No Mercy (1983) 7. Repentless (2015) 6. Hell Awaits (1985) 5. World Painted Blood (2009 4. God Hates us All (2001) 3. South of Heaven (1988) 2. My top 5 is: 1: Hell Awaits (Crypts of Eternity is proof that Slayer "invented" prog thrash :D Sinister atmosphere, tempo changes, sick riffs, screaming solos and vocals.. Slayer at their best!!!) 2: Reign In Blood (Reborn, Jesus Saves, Postmortem, Epidemic and Necrophobic could be better/longer. But Altar, Raining, Criminally & Angel rule, and Lombardo's fills are unparalleled) 3: Show No Mercy (Metal Storm! Black Magic! Title track! Crionics! Most songs are very good, but it doesn't really have the classic "Slayer" feel due to NWOBHM influence) 4: Seasons in the Abyss (Sprit In Black, Hallowed Point & title track are gems, and there's no real bad song) 5: South of Heaven (better standout tracks in Ghosts of War, Silent Scream & title track, but some fillers and a god damn cover song..)

Could you imagine if instead of trying to create an entire album Slayer had just released that banger of a song Repentless as a single and said it was their last song ever? I hope these older bands would go that route instead, dedicate time to just a banger of a track and retire off that song
This is pretty close to what I would have, except I would move Justice to S tier and move the Black album down to C or D (disappointing sell out after Justice).

Enjoyed the video but I’ve never been able to get into slayer. I saw megadeth once and slayer were the headliner and after megadeth we’re done,I left 😳
Lol was that the Rust in Peace and Seasons in the Abyss anniversary tour? I saw them on that together as well as when they all did the big 4 show at yankee stadium
Pair of Jeans Reviews it was in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada in 2010 pretty sure it was called the American carnage tour. Megadeth were great they played rust in peace entirely,trust,headcrusher,a tout la monde ,countdown to extinction and peace sells. I have no idea what slayer played but I heard they were insanely loud!!!!
After listening to all Slayer albums, I must admit that I could do with first three albums. They ran out of ideas afterwards imo, but surprisingly WPB clicked with me, but tbh the rest are either a weaker Hell Awaits or Reign In Blood, yes even including SITA and SOH imo. A pretty one-dimensional band, sorry man.

I know a lot of people who have hell awaits at #1 great album but there’s some I like more
Hell Awaits is my fav... love the production, super evil sounding, progressive as fuck, and definitely their most death metal record to me.
