- Anyone looking to get lots of mileage out of their Ford 6.7 Superduty diesel needs to check out this guys maint intervals. WELCOME BACK FAMILY, got a true unicorn here, with outta doubt the 1st time I've ever laid my hands on a truck with over a million miles on it. 1.3 milli to be exact!! The cluster as you see is at 999,999.9 so the customer uses his trip B to continue at 10,000 miles increments, then records and resets. Over the life of this truck he has replaced: 12 windshields, on his 4th turbo charger, has re-upholstered both front seats with leather and cushions, gets about 150-ish k out of a set of tires, trucks had 2 sets of brakes, 2 sets of driveline u-joints, 3 4x4 hub lock outs, 4 alternators, been deleted since 98k miles, changes the oil and fuel filters every 8k, uses an additive for both fuel and oil, sends oil to get analyzed, just replaced the transmission and transfer case about a month ago, replaces the head lights and fog lights every year, paints the front bumper every year, on his 5th radiator(1 OE and 4 aluminum Mishimoto) 3 sets of belts, 2 sets of batteries, at 800k switched over to the new yellow, has been in one rear end accident, buncha mirrors, i could go all night. 1 million divide by 8000 and then multiply that by whatever the cost of each change is. Assume 125 bucks, its like 15k in total.

The thing that save this truck was the emissions were taken off early in its life and he runs good fuel treatment.
The old 7.3 didn’t run on any of that emissions bullshit so this is what the 6.7 would run like if it came from factory

I guess most are highway miles. I run through a set of brake pads for 60,000 miles city driving.

I've never had less than 350k on a vehicle, one of which was known for having a short lifespan. Taking it easy on the pedals makes huge difference.
@Billy Jack I agree with not abusing your truck. I bought a 97 f-350 back in 2000 from the original owner and he told me the same thing. Now I'm sitting at 502000 with just routine maintenance.
@@dani1i1i1i1 Was taking *too* EZ on my 6.7, made evident by a nearly plugged DPF which called for forced regen. Now at the end of each exhaust clean cycle I ride her hard up a bit 0 - 85 mph, result = 1-2 + mpg. No more forced regens$

Some executive at Ford is going to hear about this and hold a meeting to find the engineers responsible for disregarding their Planned Obsolescence Policy. You can't sell many new trucks to repeat customers when the old ones never wear out. But, since I own a '13 F250 like it, this sure gives me the warm-n-fuzzies to see.

Same with the toyotas the odometers stop at 999999
My 7.3 has 550,000 on it . On the obs 7.3 the odometer goes to 399999.9 and no more. Then all the 9’s drop off and will show 300,000 . I’ve turned it over twice . It shows 357,000 but you have to add 200,000 to that .
I had a 6.0, still have an idi 7.3 dump, and my 14 6.7. Loved the 6.0 but the last hpop failure soured it for me. I dumped enough money into it. That old 7.3 just wont die!

That’s a nice looking truck, props to him for taking care of his vehicle. What’s funny is they could all last a lot longer if people maintained them properly, but we know that won’t happen.
Man your not wrong not only maintain but know what to maintain it more than a oil change alot of people dont know that when I started learning how to work on stuff I was told if its got a moving part it will break or go bad I still tell people this

You do have a point about too many kids being that way, but not all are like that. I was given a brand new 2007 GT V8 Mustang for my 18th birthday. Fifteen years later, it looks almost as good and runs just as good as the day I saw it for the first time. It's received Ford maintenance by the book ever since, no exceptions. Runs stock with no mods. I've driven it fast, but never when it was stupid to do so. I've never crashed it or damaged it. You'd be surprised by how good the original leather seats still look. It's gone through 3 tire sets, a handful of faulty recalled alternators, replacements for a couple of worn out air conditioning parts, and the computer may now be on its last legs since it's recently started to throw fake check engine alerts (Ford service shop verified this). Other than that, it's still a reliable daily driver, and I have no plans of ever getting rid of it.
i just hit 600000 miles yesterday! 2019 f 350 6.7 liter and yes Michelin all the way .. Oil change every 10000 reilgiously> Also an RV hauler! Love it! Bill Mesch

I have a 2008 6.4l with 415,000 oilfield miles ...changed motor at 297,000 miles...transmission is original,front hubs are original 2 sets of brakes...change oil every 5,000 miles ,fuel filter every 10,000. Pull trailers loaded with pipe . You can check this out with Randy at White Motor in Stanton,Texas
Apparently with 2 brake jobs and getting 150K miles out of the tires, he is doing almost all highway driving on long trips. Still, it is incredible. Would love to see an interview with him.

I was just watching a video of a dodge with 1,000,000 miles and it had 12 transmission swaps and 3 Cummins swaps so for this Ford to have 1,000,000 miles and only have the transmission swapped 1 time and a couple of turbos that’s pretty good

I currently own a 2011, I bought it with 33,000 miles for only $33,000. I ran a bullydog gt tuner on it until 90,000 miles. From there I completely deleted all the emissions myself with an h&s tuner. Currently I have 259,000 miles on it and I has never failed me. I installed a BD shit solenoid, and have replaced the battery's once, the brakes twice, a caliper, a wheel hub, and a fuel filer housing on the water separator, only because a rock broke a hole in it casuing us to run out of fuel. I tow and do alot of tuff work with it, don't ever plug it in in the winter,. I hauled many loads of hay from Utah back to .y ranch in Colorado, the total weight was 25,000 lbs. I've done hotshot work with it, from transporting horses to hauling military equipment with it. Needless to say it's been absolutely an amazing pickup, and this make me excited to maybe reach the million mile mark

It shows the huge difference highway driving can make. My employer has a fleet of about 40 trucks. A majority of the trucks (F150s and E series cutaways) are retired around 300-350k, with the original drivetrain. We currently have a 2014 with 420k and still on the road every day. We don’t exactly always baby these things either. I must admit, I don’t think we’ll ever see 1 million out of a truck. Very impressive.

Glad to see there's hope. Bought a 2020 F350 at 248 miles new and currently at a lil over 330k and still runs like fresh off lot. Frequent oil changes and maintenance is a must. Love my Ford🤗🤗🤗
I personally have one of the earliest 2011 6.7 F250 Superduty's ever made. I know for a fact its one of the first 100 built, which is hand built. I ordered this truck in Late February of 2010, Picked it up the first week of June 2010. I currently have 304,000 miles. I have only had to put brakes, tires, and a few windshields in it. Normal maintenance @ 8k miles. Small oil leak currently. Minor mods, replaced the leather on the seats and 1 AC compressor and radiator. I haul a 11,000lbs gooseneck 40' trailer from time to time, absolutely no struggle. No plans to retire this old girl.

I'm a california commercial hot shot driver, 2015 F350 6.7 w DPF - 340k and runnin like a champ! Went through the Hi pressure fuel pump disaster at 50k. Since added FASS fuel filter system and a disaster prevention bypass. Had to do(myself) 1 brake job, 1 serpentine belt and both front hub bearings replacement's twice so far. Cooper AT's get 100k plus. Everything is still stock, hub lockers, turbo, tranny etc..I do use Hot Shot brand additive's for oil(every 10k), fuel(every tank), and the tranny(every flush) . Rear end uses oem additive. I'm on a stringent and similar maintenance regiment as the truck owner mentioned in the video, ALL documented. So I'm goin for the 1 million miles plus "Club" (if there isn't one, there should be 😉) 👌🏼👍🏻
I've seen more million mile Fords than anything else. One of my customers has a 2011 f150 ecoboost with 1.5 million miles on the original engine. It's a pilot truck so it racks up the miles fast. I've seen many many crown vics and Lincoln town cars with over a million miles as well.
ford is top of the line. they have their stupid problems like timing chains stretching but they know how to build cars. ive seen quite a few with 300k or more on them.
It was common for 7.3s to get over one million
Ive seem an escort with 650,000 and those are dirt cheap.
A million miles is impressive but only when there hasn't been any major drivetrain repairs.
I have a f150 2010with almost 300K cero problems I just get f250 2017 with 6.7
My parents had a 1969 Ford station wagon that we took over a million... 390 gas engine. No rebuilds. Just maintenance. It's still alive in another truck
That's Great!! At this time in my life I don't believe I would live long enough to put a million miles on my truck. Lol!! I would say maintenance has payed off for that gentleman.
Got 93k miles on my 2014 f350, was just thinking of upgrading but with the new and used market being insane was thinking of holding off a bit until summer. Now seeing this video definitely made me reconsider selling mine. Gonna keep it and keep trucking along

Just saw this video and I hope to get this far with mine. 216k miles late 2012 (2013) f250. Completely stock currently. I run the archoil fuel additive in every tank and oil friction modifier every oil change. Oil is changed every 5k. Thanks for the great content! 👍

I always love seeing these high mileage fords. I have a 2009 ranger 2.3 with 317k on it and it runs like a brand new one! Standard 5k oil changes and any other repairs needed, no problems. I also have a 2008 F250 super duty with 276k miles on the stock 5.4 3v triton. It was a former construction truck for the heavy contractors. Original engine and trans, no engine noises out of the ordinary. Its actually over 276k because the former owner cut the abs module out of the harness and stopped it from reading mileage, and that was over 6 months ago. Ive put maybe 1000 miles on it since and theres no telling how many it had after he cut the harness.

I feel like after the warranty is up it's best to "jettison" the middle section of the exhaust ya know what's up.

Ive had a chevy go lile 310thousand miles.. Prob would've lasted longer bit had a oil filter collapse shortly after changed it and it weakened the oil pump. No oil pressure wen parked it at 310

That is truly incredible! The 6.7 is a great engine for sure! People laugh at me when I tell them I change my oil EVERY 5k miles religiously...sometimes 4k miles. This is why.
I drive a duramax but this is awesome! Good job ford and good job to the owner. Proves everything can last if you take care of it.
Wow! Impressive. I thought I was doing great with my 97 5.4 Expedition, bought new, now with 458k miles. Replaced head gaskets at 405k miles and crosshatches were still clear on the cylinders. Change engine oil with Mobil 1 every 10k. Still on the original E4OD running Mobil 1 synthetic ATF (change every 100k).

Wow, love it. I’m on my third PowerStroke. I’m at 45,000 and change filters every 10,000 and oil every 5,000. I use Amsoil and yes my truck is deleted
I like to drive my truck sanely. Like an old man. I do regular maintenance in my driveway. On time. Or before. I believe it makes for long life. I like what this guy did. He did a great job keeping his baby running. Awesome video. Love your emotion! Ha!

This is great to know! Considering I just brought a 2021 F-350 Lariat Tremor 6.7 to pull a Montana toy hauler, 17k. Think I will definitely be allowing the 6.7 "breath" better. The 2020/2021s should last longer with the steel pistons ,
Very impressive! My 6.7 (2011) has about 280k on it, change oil every 5k miles (Conventional) and fuel filter every 10k. I don't use any additives, but it has been deleted since early on. Haven't had too many issues, Just a couple issues with the rear pinion we caught in time so we didnt have to do a complete rebuild and a fuel pump went out.
At what mileage did the fuel pump go out and did it gove warnings. Im looking at one for myself As well

Sounds like he really babies the truck. Only way to make a set of tires last that long and honestly probably the only way to make a truck last that long. Most people would have gone through 5 to 10 trucks by now depending on the individual.
I'm not sure if hes telling the truth about the truck. Which I'm definitely skeptical. But if he is then he may ride on better road surfaces then most. I know in Maryland between the drastic temperature changes and the salty and bumpy roads I cant get more then 40k out if a set of tires.

I’ve got 340,000 miles on my 17 F-250 XLT 6.7. It’s completely stock and the only parts that have been replaced were the batteries (which started leaking) and the shocks. (which were also leaking 😆) Both items were replaced at ~160k. I’ll be replacing my front brakes in the next week or so. I’m on my 5th set of tires. The first 3 sets were factory tires, the originals were Connie 18s, then a set of factory take-off Michelin 20s, then another set of factory Connie 18s. 4th set was Michelin ATX M/S. I got 115k out of those due to a funny wear pattern developing, and would have replaced them with the same tire, but Michelin’s were back ordered last month everywhere I looked. There’s a slight vibration at ~75 mph. I thought it was tires, but it’s still there with new tires. The center bearing (LB) and all the UJs seem tight, but I’m going to have a Driveline shop replace the UJs and the cneter bearing, and balance the assembly. I’ve changed the fluids in the differentials and transfer case once, and it’s on its 3rd fill of transmission fluid. I change the oil at 8-10k, and the fuel filters every 20-25k. I typically pull 5-9k# trailers and let it slow down a little on the way up the hills

It's precisely why I bought one myself. Second built transmission, and a slew of upgrades makes it pull like a new one, better fuel milage and cheaper to maintain. I still say the 7.3 is unbeatable when it comes to strait up longevity.
This truck is a freak. Not at all normal or regular. I've seen 6 7.3s over 1 mil. One(car hauler) was over 1.5 last time he was in for service. Only used to pull.
7.3 makes no power and is a tractor motor it’s not that impressive that they last so long.
@@BloodshotEagle That is why the price of the 7.3 has gone up the reliability, no limp mode and the ease and cost of repair. They will do what they are rated for. People are tired of all the controls the new vehicles have,putting you in limp mode for issues that are not a danger to the engine operation.

2011 F350 Crew Cab Lariat
I purchased the truck with 10k miles on it. Currently the odometer is at 265505. "Upgraded" the emissions at 17k miles.
Vacuum pump oil seal at 24k.
Replaced factory turbo at 224k miles w/non vgt
Transmission is stock but has tuning.
Engine tune has been from 45hp to 150hp since tuned.
Ran water/methanol injection for 50k miles.
Oil and fuel filters are changed every 10k to 20k miles.
Oil samples sent off every change.
Fuel filters changed with oil.
Fueling system still stock.
Alternator new at 260k
Both front wheel bearings new at 100k.
Truck was my office for a long time and has 10k idle hours.
Runs like a singer sewing machine still.
Pulls 18k 5th wheel about 1500 miles each year.
Pulls 5k to 8k regularly
I have a heavy foot and have definitely leaned on it some.
The 6.7 is a thing of beauty. Planning on running it until it goes.
Speechless. Please have this guy on. I'm running an 06 6l with almost 400, original injectors, second turbo and I thought that was amazing. One rear ujoint, one set of ball joints, one tie rod end and 3 break jobs🤣.

I have a 12 with 150k no issues at all. Actually 1 issue, cold side charge pipe, but I upgraded to an aftermarket forged aluminum one and have had no more issues.. I also drive a 18 wheeler, 2016 freightliner with a Cummins 15 ltr ISX. From day one, fuel filters every 10k miles and oil changes every 20k miles. The more you change fuel filters it will help your fuel mileage. Knocking on 1 million miles, fuel pump ( a recall ), and a clutch has been the only bigger repairs the semi has had ( not counting brakes, wheel seals, etc ). I use archoil fuel and oil treatment in the f350 and standyne fuel treatment and Lucas oil treatment in the semi/ APU. Regular services and great filters is a must...... Thx for your videos. Im putting in the DEF heater this weekend. Just changed my first set of rear tires and brakes on the f350. Tires still had life in them, but they're old enough and I wanted bigger all terrains. I personally change steer tires way more frequently than most people because I have seen many accidents ( deaths ) involving heavy duty trucks from a steer tire problem. On the semi, every year or 150k they're changed. Dually not so extreme but more frequently then the rear. Keep them for spare run-outs.
My f350 2016, had 500,000 miles on it. Till we decided to sale it. The only thing I replaced on it, was the turbo, and fuel injectors. Now we have a f350 Dully 2018, and it has 380,000 miles on it. And only expensive thing I had to replace, was the high-pressure pump and the fuel and injectors.
2016 F350 6.7L just rolled over 24,000 miles last month. Only drove my truck 2800 miles last year.

Just traded my 08 for a 2021. The 08 had 250,000 and ran great. Did have a transmission shift issue, starter grind once in a while, radiator needed changed, front 4x4 needed rebuilt. Stereo starting to fail, and a few other $1000 repair items soon.
I did add fuel additive and also lucas to my oil, changed the fuel filters often and did one break job. Had alternator fails twice, thermostat to failed once, batteries every two years failed ( Ford batteries) tires were Michelin but I only got 50,000 on a set as I did not want any blowouts. Did have the OEM tires blow out at 30,000.
Gotta say I don’t regret letting her go and getting the new 2021.

I live in the rust belt and none of my vehicles rust out ever. I use krown rust proofing oil and fluid film. I apply it every you can think of twice a year.

I just bought a 2018 f250 King Ranch with 135000 miles and as a former 7.3 powerstroke owner I have been nervous and almost wishing I hadn't bought this new truck with all this magical stuff on it. But I guess after seeing this and a few other videos and after lots of research I guess I'm just going to maintain her real good and not worry?!?!?!? Great and very informative videos BTW thanks!!!
I do the same thing with my LB7, (478xxx kms) fuel filters with every oil change (rotella T6 every 7-8k which is overkill but fresh oil is cheap longevity) and run stanadyne every tank for our shit North American ULSD. Change the spin on Allison filter every second oil change as well. Original transmission and turbo (wastegated seem to be more reliable than vvt) never been touched. The body on mine is no where near that clean but it’s also 20 years old and living through Canadian winters. This owner takes great care of his truck, hats off to him for keeping it rolling and in such great shape!

I have a 2006 Chevy 2500 4x4 LS regular cab that rolled over 25,000 miles yesterday. At this rate, I will have it 900 years to catch up to that Powerstroke.
I bought my 2011 F350 power stroke in 3/2018 with 198k on it. Crew cab lariat long box SRW 4x4. It now has 250k and runs like brand new. At 10 years old now it has almost no flaws. I quit buying Chevys after numerous catastrophic failures.
And FYI, I still have the dpf filter and all that shit on it, and my 8,000 lb truck gets 15 mpg in the city hauling loads.

Old 2010 ford ranger Fx4 4.0 V6 paired to a 5 speed automatic. Had it for a long time. Pulled lots of trailers and bed full of wood. Trans finally exploded on me at 550,000 miles. Engine still runs like new. Got my moneys worth from that thing. Usually did oil changes between 5000 miles and 7000 miles. No leaks in the engine what so ever

2015 F250 Lariat Platinum package
Just did and oil change today 250,000 miles and still running strong.
All stock except for the oil drain plug. Installed is a valve switch with a 90* to point downward. Drains a little slower but very convenient!

My 2000 7.3 f350 power stroke is running strong with 377k miles on it! International has built some solid motors for sure!
The key to saving the turbo on any turbo diesel is oil change and every 3k. I had a 2011 F250 with 200k before trade in and I never had turbo issues and I ran Diesel service fuel injector cleaner every 5th tank. I had the turbo oil cooling line leak and the vacuumed pump replaced. Replaced the EGT sensors at 150k did a performance air cleaner on it and a 5 inch DPF back exhaust never had a issue with the EGR.

Good to know!!!! I've got two 7.3L 00' and 02' both close to 400k and running like the day I bought them.... everyday drivers and tow 12k to 16k loads monthly for our homestead. Oil changes and fuel filters are the key!!!! And towing 60mph top speed!!!!

I exclusively run Optima. I have alot of cars in storage for the winters here in Oregon, and a good yellow top with a battery tender has never done me wrong.
