This is the only game that actually needs to go forward from WW2 to Vietnam or modern. To really mix it up. This kind of hit and run would work so well in a historical Vietnam war 1960's setting.
GamingControversials I get what you're saying, but generally speaking I expect sequels to significantly improve the original, not just serve as an expansion. There's not really much sense in my arguing about it though since Sniper Elite clearly isn't for me.
The new X-Ray system is definitely improved. You can see shattered organs from shrapnel, and the melee takedown X-Rays are nice, but otherwise it's kinda more of the same. Still not enough blood to compliment the X-Ray system which in my opinion doesn't really let you see the aftermath of the damage from the outside.
"But it's a pre-alpha; not even an alpha yet! It's unfair to make any judgements since there's so much development left!" Can we cut it out with the "pre-alpha" thing yet? At this point it's little more than a marketing term to deflect any criticism of the unfinished product and keep pre-orders high. The likely truth is that this is footage taken from a late stage of development, and the final game will be nearly identical to what you see here. Whether or not you think the game looks any good, this is what you're getting later this year.

Explosive X-rays, maps are bigger than 3, climbing, environmental takedown, new setting, melee X-rays and whistling. It's very similar to 3 but they've added more in so people have to think about that

Teunis Swart He was talking about graphics and gameplay, although i did notice the updated character model, destructible environments, the textures and specular lighting is better, there still using ssao for ambient occlusion but im sure they'll make a deal with nvidia and add gameworks to it. I'm interested to see if they'll implement physx for the blood, it would be cool to see xrays with physx blood pouring out, so that it would look different every time, the people who say the game is exactly the same are pretty much blind and or are ignorant.
While I appreciate Rebellion's addition of shrapnel killcams, refined environmental kills and parkour into SE4, I do not like melee kills during combat. It makes things too easy just running up to an enemy after breaking stealth.

That's not how soldiers work, almost every soldier carried different gear, different weaponry, but in this game every marksman had a bolt action and everyone else an MP40 and that was that.. the only variation was a helmet here and there.. No SS, no brown shirts, no nothing
