SPOON FEEDING Fertilizer vs STANDARD Fertilizer Feeding, Side by Side

- Опубліковано 12 чер 2020
- What's up Everybody? Today I'm talking about Spoon Feeding your lawn vs Standard or 6 week interval fertilization. I have a unique opportunity between my lawn and my neighbors lawn to showcase two different feeding styles and while I will be using products from my own line (Greene County Fertilizer Company N-Ext Products) the rules and general guidelines remain the same for all fertilizer types.
For most people "what is spoon feeding?" probably doesn't come up in regular conversation, but the could be wondering why their neighbors lawn is greener and what they are doing to get it there. By the end of this video, the best fertilizer plan for you should be pretty easy to decide... less more often or more less often?
The general rule is to make sure there is enough "fuel in the tank" when you start spoon feeding. A full measure of whatever fertilizer you choose to use is needed when you start and then weekly or every other week feedings can take place. Seeing as I can monitor both lawns, this will be a fun way to see how two styles end up with a similar result. By the end of the season, the lawns will end up with the same amount of fertilizer, micronutrients, biostimulants, and soil amendments. The only difference will be when and how much per time is applied.
In this video I decided to start with GreenePop as my fertilizer and Humic12 as the additive. The GreenePop contains phosphorus at 21% as well as a measure of both RGS and Air8. (little known fact) This will give me a little push as we enter summer and in 6 weeks we will change the fertilizer portion.

Danny has excellent hose management skills even with no training - what a man!
He’s killing it!
The classic rookie reverse
Lol. Iv been a professional intergraded pest control professional here in Florida with the company who invented the tubes in the wall system and most new guys rely on that only and have no management skills when it comes to hose.
I need serious hose management training. How about a video on it?
Its Timmy not Danny
Timmy, Tommy, Billy, Bobby, Danny seems like a good neighbor.
He’s awesome.
That’s hilarious
I appreciated all the information. Interesting to know that the GreenePOP has Air8 and RGS in it ... definitely I will add that to my next order! Thanks
There you go! The more you know...
Hey JP, I picked up some good info from this one.
Awesome Paul! Love the new logo
I performed a soil test a couple of weeks ago and my N and P were both off the chart. N was at 2.67 and P was 1.69. I applied a 24-25-4 starter
Love it...done didley
Diddly diddly
Awesome intro music ... keep it!
Thank you Milan!
I have been recently using greenpop and humic 12 along with rgs but I have been using a backpack sprayer. I just got one of the hose end sprayers but what rate do I set it to? There is a dial with different numbers and that would be much easier than remixing multiple batches for my backpack sprayer as I have about 15k yard.
Love it. Them Rikers boys are faithful if nothing else😂
Got that right
Great video, how much N are you putting down on each lawn for the year? Seems much lighter than traditional program.
Ay Yn making an appearance! 🔥🔥👊🔥🔥
The lawn care Patron Saint
“Tommy...Danny”. I died laughing. Been there many times.
😂😂
I ran Pee on my tomatoes in the past. Diluted to about 1 morning worth per gallon applied to soil/base of plant. The tomatoes responded pretty well
First Aussie 😁. Damn, I missed it. 😎👍👍
So I love the N-Ext Products. My.question , if I use hose end do I need to water in after? And same for my tank sprayer, water on or no? I've received both yes and no as answer so a little confused so I've been watering after to be safe.
If you use a hose end at high concentrate then yes. If you do it with higher water flow, no need to water in
I put 10 oz rate 1000 of the green pop on my st aug plugs and it made them explode and start running crazy I noticed the next day! Now you talking about rgs and air 8 it makes more sense
Awesome!!!
NEED HELP Hi been watching your channel, I'm planing to fix my lawn and need some help. I already trying killing all the clover in my lawn with tenacity mix with speed zone I live in LI NYC .My grass is cool session Kentucky Blue grass. My property is size is 3800 sq ft. and i see allot of bear spot with dead grass mulch now because the clover is dyeing now. Don't know were to start. Do i need D-thatch my lawn first then put down air8 and Rgs. I'm new in this can you give me some pin point on were to start.
thank you
craig
Nice salute to Caddy Shack Chevy errrrrr John..
Lol. That was fun to do 😂😂
@@Lawncology and done very well, had me 😂😂
@Lawncology... I have a P deficiency in my established st Augustine (Houston, TX). Can I use this product more than once? I already applied 15oz/1000sqft. Can I spoon feed biweekly or do I need to now wait 4-6 weeks?
You certainly can spoon feed!
Have you not put out any Humic 12 at both these lawns other than the small amount in the other products previously? How come?
Just hadn’t yet. I needed to get some because I was out. Today was the day
When will your soil test be ready. And what is the cost. I have tree area and non tree area.
Matthew Schorfheide pic a lab to send them to and then send me the results
I’m tired of dragging my hose all over the yard. Put out an ad on Craigslist for a hose handler, just to keep the hose from getting kinked to allow good constant hose flow and lighten my work load.
When can I put down my dethatch ? Can I put down green pop after or wait a few weeks to apply ?
Go for it
Timmy did a good job for his first time.
I have to say, it’s so much fun to help people get hooked on lawn care. He and his wife are out on the lawn everyday now and just want to do and learn more. It’s pretty awesome
Lol the “Rookie Reverse” .....
You know it 😉😁
Can you put Microgreen and GreenEffect ("double dark") in the same tank or do I have to apply separately?
You can mix those yes
Was there any follow up videos to spoon feeding? If there is, I cannot find them??? Love the idea as I always want to be doing something in the yard.
It was followed up throughout the year. the last one was “lawn in a box”
@@Lawncology I just purchased a Flow Zone and plan on going fully LIQUID, can you do some videos using a back pack sprayer in lieu of the Ortho sprayer. You may open up a whole new market for the company (no hose management and great for a large lawn). Love he channel.
Hi! I have level my yard already. Question is should I applied starter fertilizer then the sod or sod first then fertilizer. Thanks
Either way works
@@Lawncology thanks
What’s the wait time on your soil test reading? I have purchased one and I’m curious. Thanks for all you do!
Hey Max, I've got yours here and it's coming your way right now!
Lawncology you are the man!!! Excited to see what you suggest. Have watched all of your Soil Series videos and much more. A little lost on best way to deal with high PH soil, high Mag and high Calcium. Thank you!
check your email ;)
John, you mentioned rotating which biostimulant you use with every feeding. Would it be incorrect to incorporate each biostimulant with every feeding (reduce the overall ounces of each but apply together)? Or are those not as effective when reduced to that point?
If I’m being honest, I’ve never done it that way so I can’t really say. I suppose the end load is all the same so I theory, it makes sense
Lawncology, thank you very much for the response! I’m excited to try the spoon feeding method. I have sandy soil and it brings pain to my heart to think about how much goodness has leached out. Best part, my neighbors app use a service that does standard interval feeding, can’t wait to compare! Thank you!
Which product are you switching to after this at the end of July? I’m contemplating spoon feeding with GreenePop through the hot months mid July through mid August. I’m in Montana but it still gets fairly warm here. Do you think this plan would be alright?
That’s totally fine. I’m thinking I will switch to GreenePunch and do some GreeneFfect as well my plan is to nail the neighbors lawn with that mix for their next big feeding
Lawncology Thank you. I went ahead and put it down with a little bit of Microgreene too. My next big fert app is going to be Greenepunch and Greene Effect as well.
Is there any dealers or a store front locally in SLC area to purchase or best to head to LCN website?
Not locally, yardmastery.com
Would it be okay to add some Bifen IT to my tank mix when putting down my bio-stimulate package? I use a 15 gallon sprayer with two broadcast nozzles. The mosquitos are fierce here in Texas.
Totally
Fine
@@Lawncology thanks for the response. I have the darkest lawn on the block using the Bio-stimulate package!
Was the name mixup a Caddyshack reference?
Indeed 😉
John , sorry to say if you are doing something everyday on your lawn when will we see the results because your lawn in my opinion 5/10.
You’re not wrong. It was doing great, it go so thick and I cut it to nothing. That was 10ish days ago. Stressed it out hard. I’m letting it fill back in and the color is coming around Ike crazy. Remember it’s had next to nothing applied, just a ton of mowing, very little watering, and all of that is getting pushed up now. Watch how it turns in the next two vids
Good morning John. I've emailed you, but haven't heard back yet. I purchased a soul rest reading and plan from you last Friday. I haven't received anything yet for the interpretation. Wanting to get a plan and to see what's going on with the order. Thank you.
Danny Nail hey Danny, got a message from the office about this. I didn’t have your test in my inbox. I’ll have your recommendations over shortly
Lawncology Do I need to send the results again and do you send info on spoon feeding?
Honest question: why buy Humic12 if all the products already have Humic in it? I just purchased 2 gallons of Humic12 so now I'm questioning my decision haha.
Honestly, I like it on its own. I like to blast down on areas that are rough. I like how fast changes take place. Humic takes on properties of what it’s combined with so having it alone is a great tool
I know you’ve been to Naples Florida our soils are sandy and lots of rain you think our ferts get washed out
How often can you put down Humic 12?
Depends on rate, I don't do more than 6 ounces a month
@@Lawncology Thanks
Lots of wind at 4:24 but ur audio is still of good quality, what's the secret?
Rode Micro and good dead cat.
What sort of spoon should I use ?
Table
I keep spraying double dark on my hose but it seems to be getting disease or something. Instead of getting a darker green it's starting to get a orange cast to it.
😂😂
@@Lawncology do you have this problem? I'm just trying to get the Deepest, Darkest PiloHose on the block.
Fescue Freddy I’ve had that problem yes
😎✌️
I tried the soil test and it said sold out? Ill try again
Should be all set
I’ve been in his shoes many times. My last name starts with TIm...I’m thus continually referred to as Tim in emails. How hard is Matt to remember?
😂😂
I hope the Timmy Danny thing was intended...🤣
Not when he accidentally said his name wrong 😂😂😂
What are your thoughts on using GreenPop on centipede?
If you’re in need of P, it’s great. Low dose of N and P together plus the other components, it’s a winner
Tiny yeti!
This time on dirty jobs, mike rowe mows some lawns
Would love to try these products but with a 25k lawn its a lot of 💰
There’s the method of application that becomes more of a logistics issue with a lawn your size. Cost per 1000
Is what it is, but walking all that would be a lot
@@Lawncology I would need a battery backpack sprayer for sure. Maybe I'll try just the front yard
Good stuff. Thanks
Spoon feeding is NOT the same as slow release feedings. If the fert is water soluble, it is instantaneous feedings. The only advantage to spoon feedings is that it allows for adjustments to the NPK ratios if growing conditions change unexpectedly.
I think you missed the point of the video
Looked like Johnny did a pretty good job
He did. He was getting his flow!!
If no one is going to say it I was actually excited Rikers Island made its way back for this live .😎😬
Lol
That was a great clip you were in! Made me really lol!
A to Zoysia - DIY LawnCare 😬🙌🙏 I am really humbled.. thank you

Melvin 2x4 DIPA
@@Lawncology heavy hitter! such a good choice. If you can ever find it, Bell's Oracle DIPA; amazing! I am from Michigan so i am partial!
John "capital P not p e e" Perry
Been spraying the lawn with p for years. Remember...get your p right.
You take drugs Danny? Everyday sir. Good, good, so what's the problem?
😂😂😂
I love your content. Love your product. But I HATE your intro. It sounds like survivor man mixed with bbq pit boys. Too loud, and too long. Sorry just had to vent
Thanks for the feedback! I like it, but I could always adjust the volume for you.
I love it 💕. We all have our own views that’s why we’re all still watching! Much love JP, loving all the info, products etc.
