    The one thing you'll want to be aware of is that if you overdo it, the grass will grow like crazy and you'll have to mow a lot. Here in the Pacific Northwest (Washington State) where you get quite a lot of rain, this can be problematic as you won't be able to mow effectively due to wet grass and it can become quite a hassle.
    Also, note that you're effectively "charging" the grass for next spring, your lawn will be storing a lot energy for winter and it will go into "turbo" mode come next spring. So keep your lawn mower blades or reel sharpened and be ready for a sudden flush of growth.

    • @PrincessCutLawnCare

      Eastern WA here, and even though we can have dry summers on this side, you ain't kidding when you say too much wet grass growth can be a problem.
      The blade is so fast and easy to swap out on my push mower that I just keep a second blade sharpened and ready to swap in when the current blade shows signs of dulling. Easy to tell when that is because they don't mulch nearly as well when they're dull.

    I've been watching a lot of your videos and finding them very helpful as I grow/maintain my new cool season lawn which was hydroseeded in May. It had tons of weeds in it. Got rid of most of them with 2 applications of tenacity. An application of quinclorac cleared out the rest. Now I'm focusing on thickening up the grass and filling the dead spots. Some new weeds are popping up so I was thinking another application of tenacity and maybe I could mix it with Blue Def to fertilize at the same time. Do you think there would be any problems with mixing them in one application? Thank you!

    Two kinds of fast-release N: and the DEF (urea) is very fast and probably "gone" a couple days later. but the Ammonium sulfate will stick around for a bit longer. Both are fast release; a slow-release would be good to add later, too, depending on the time of year (how late in the Fall where you live is "late"?).

    Blitz definitely works! I'm just using Scott's Lawnfood weekly on my new 1000 sq ft side yard- and it's well on its way to quickly spreading into the harder to establish washout areas along with maturing. My main front is now a year old, and I'm hitting it with bi weekly apps. Both are lawns need mowed every three days, and are pretty much the darkest green lawn in the entire neighborhood. Definitely will do an ammonium sulfate + feature liquid app maybe 2-3 weeks before Oct 31, and then call it a wrap.

    George ... regarding AMS vs Urea ... for those with lower than suggested pH, it seems that using too much of AMS may not be beneficial. So for me at pH 6.1 I try to do the 8:1 (Urea to AMS) ratio. Also, that AMS you're using, prills look pretty big. No issue with uneven color afterwards? I know I like to stick with small prill size fertilizers when it comes to granular for more even coverage.

    • @PrincessCutLawnCare

      Good morning! im not sure what setting it would be but i would advise you to set it to the lowest possible setting and keep walking over your lawn multiple times until its emptied.
      This is a common best practice that will ensure you get even coverage, it may take long to spread since you have to go over it multiple times due to the slow distribution but you can be rest assured it will be spread even.
      Have a great day!

      @@PrincessCutLawnCare I’m very pleased with the results. I’m not going to lie but I was doubtful. I sprayed my back yard since I have a privacy fence. Just in case this didn’t work. At the end I ended up with a thicker greener lawn.
      I’ll be doing it in the front yard now.

    It’s early October here in the North and I’m considering putting down compost. Followed by killex due to a slight weed problem. Should I use nitrogen after or before this?

    • @PrincessCutLawnCare
      @PrincessCutLawnCare  11 місяців тому +1

      before, it will increase the weed killing effects of the killex and will also feed the compost to help break it down further

    I am trying to eliminate Bermuda and crab grass in east Tennessee. Lawn is a mix of tall fescue and perennial rye grass. Just started the new lawn after dethatch, and scaring, cut down to lowest mower setting, what would you mix up in a back pack sprayer. starting in a week, spray it and try and over seed before it gets too cold, IDEAS? MESSAGE ME PLEASE

      Use the stuff i use in this video, it will kill bermuda in tall fescue and still allow you to seed at the same time : ua-cam.com/video/X_QfhxA6tJA/v-deo.html

    What do you use for iron supplement and will it help kill moss?

    • @PrincessCutLawnCare
      @PrincessCutLawnCare  Рік тому

      its called feature, i wouldnt use it for moss.
      for moss i would use a more concentrated version of iron that is just strictly iron

    Looks awesome! Do you add fe with every application?

    • @CrazyManwich
      @CrazyManwich Рік тому

      I used to use iron with every application and ended up harming it because of iron toxicity.
      Now I use DEF, Jackpot micro nutrients, kelp and PGR. The jackpot has iron but in very small amounts as opposed to using straight up iron.

    • @PrincessCutLawnCare
      @PrincessCutLawnCare  Рік тому

      hi grace yes but at the low rate rate of 1 OZ, so the two applications still fall in the max app rate of 2OZ permonth
