I think that, living in the U.K., as an Irish Catholic, I would prefer to visit and travel around Poland by train and some of these places in Poland that I would like to visit are Warsaw, Gdańsk, Poznan and Krackow, also visiting those places where Saint Pope John Paul II grew up, Father Pappiwousko and the Convent of the Divine Mercy where Saint Faustina had her experiences - being Irish, I also very much like Polish history, culture and traditions, which is very similar to my own 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇩❤️❤️❤️❤️
Totally agree, especially with the night ones I prefer when they leave in the evening rather than at night. This one left before 8pm and it was ideal. The other one I took in Poland left at midnight... then you basically "just sleep" 😊
You mean Kosice right? There is no track from Kosice to PL via Bieszczady mountains. Also it has totally no economical sense as even if the line would exist, it would cross some of least populated parts of PL (and poorest), and east of Slovakia and Hungary which both are some poorest parts of EU and both are lacking population. Traffic between HU and PL was never big enough to support this, and recently it further decreased due to current situation. For PL most important are connections to CZ, DE and baltic states (rail baltica). There are currently works between Katowice and Ostrava to increase capacity, at the end of next year Katowice-Warsaw will have speed increased from 200km/h to 250km/h which will be extended towards Ostrava. There is ongoing tender for first part of HSR (up to 350km/h) - tunnel under Lodz which is part of Y line (Warsaw-Lodz-Poznan/Katowice). Y line will be extended in the future towards Pargue (via Wroclaw linking to planned HSR in CZ Brno-Prague-Berlin) and towards Berlin (via Poznan). Building line towards HU which would not cross any economically vital and densly populated areas has no sense and would never see return on investment. For PL, CZ and DE are by far more important. Western Slovakia where big part of SK population lives will have fast connections using Bratislava-Brno-Ostrava corridors either direct or just with one interchange. cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vysokorychlostní_železnice_v_Česku
I took this train on 29th of July (Warsaw East -> Budapest Nyugati), it was ok, not my best experience ever (i would give that title to RegioJet), but very cheap (120PLN/person, roughly US$32) - because I bought it a few weeks prior with the Super Promo International offer
Thank you. Hmm.. I think there was no wi-fi in my carriage, but cannot say for certain. I find wi-fi on trains in general as unreliable, so I use it only if there is no proper mobile coverage.
You mentioned the bedding was hard. However, I am curious, did you get a good night's soeep? Also, how was the ride quality...smooth, bumpy, e5c. Any disturbances from neighboring rooms. Please elaborate and include this info in future videos.
Hi. Yes, I had a good night's sleep. The bed was rather hard, might be too hard for someone, but I prefer that. Ride was smooth, it is bumpy in Slovakia, but since that was already morning, no problem there. No disturbance from other rooms. Many people get on in Krakow around 22:30, so you can hear that while they accommodate themselves, but in my case, they went to bed straight away. Are you planning to take this train?
@@DominLOLand It's SINGLE SLEEPER COMPARTMENT... do you know what it means? So its your choice > you pay the price. I didn't see Wizzair selling tickets from WAW to BUD for 150 zl... now its around 800 or more! Its summer, With LOT you will pay even more...
I don't think you will have any issues with just English. There are many tourists, expats and international students in Poland. I recently visited Krakow, Warsaw, Gdynia and Gdansk and I could communicate everywhere - train, hotel, supermarket, local bakery. If it comes to worst, you just point out at the pączek, zapiekanka or pierogi and they will know 🙂
Hi, I want to book this 407 Chopin train from Krakow to Budapest for 4 people in 4 couchette compartment. But I couldn’t do it on neither their app nor website. Do you perhaps know what is the problem here and how to book it successfully?
Hi, I have checked it, and you are right. On the website, max it allows is 3 people. On the app, it allows more, but does not allow to book a couchette. I think you have 3 options. First: contact PKP Intercity for advice. Second: book for 3 and separately for 1 to already existing booking (risky, I have never tried that, it might affect the price). Third option: Book with Hungarian MAV - it works, just I am not sure if the pricing is the same as on PKP.
Here you go - the cost was 627,42 PLN ~ 147 EUR. I aim to always mention the price, when I think it's interesting or fixed. In this case, I just forgot.

A very nice review of a ride on the Chopin !
Many thanks!
