That's the Browning rifle I've been waiting for. Browning makes a GREAT rifle, but really wanted a refined trigger and carbon barrel. Thanks for answering the call Browning!
I agree, they did a phenomenal job with their 2024 rifles. I haven't seen their other 2024 rifles in person, besides for this one, so I'm excited to see them at SHOT Show this week.
Saw this review and was SO EXCITED after being a Browning guy, including A-bolt 7 and 300 WSM… went to the website and are you kidding me $4 grand? Was thinking it would be in the $2000 to maybe 2700 range, nope $4K.
@@eddielombera5862yea or throw in a few more grand and have a full custom rifle from a master gunsmith lol. I’d never pay more than $1500 for a factory rifle
Consider it done :) I don't know what it is, but I really like the yellow tint. I think the yellow tint helps when picking up steel targets depending on the light when I'm shooting at a different range. But I will say... they are totally more of a function over fashion look for me, haha. Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching.
I actually miss the original trademark Browning bolt handle. It was sexy, elegant, and signature Browning. It was part of what seperated Browning into the Upper Class. Starting to make them look cheap now... unless you foot $4K-$5K for one of these McMillan stocked models...
Love hearing the success you're having with your X-Bolt! I've been fortunate to take them all over the US and even on an international hunt, and they do everything I need them to do. Thanks for watching the video.
Really wish someone would offer a folding stock chassis for xbolts. My xbolt lr is my favorite rifle but making it more compact until it’s time to shoot would be awesome.
I'm happy to see preferred barrels are on Brownings rifles! I am a bit confused on why they went with a 22" barrel with a 300 prc. That cartridge definitely deserves a 26" barrel
@@mxracer317 100%. In my opinion the 300 prc is one of those cartridges that needs a long barrel. It's an ICBM, don't cut off the barrel and retard its performance.
Brady I know you’re not a huge suppressor guy but I think if there was one you’d be interested in, it would be the AB Raptor series. It’s a reflex design that goes over your barrel. Titanium too. I’m about to order a Raptor 10 with a 5 inch reflex for my 20 inch 300PRC.
Great video! As for the DLX Trigger, Browning's website says its factory set at 3.5 lbs and be taken down to 3.0lbs but noticed in your video you said it is factory set at 2.5lbs. I was really looking forward to the lighter trigger but wondering which number is correct. Can you clarify?
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. I possibly mispoke, as I know they have a target DLX and a new standard DLX trigger. So I'm not 100% sure which version I had on the early release of the rifle. I do know I was able to get the poundage down to 2 pounds on the trigger I had. I'm going to say that the trigger most likely is the one that is factory set at 3.5 lbs and taken down to 3.0 lbs. Sorry about that.
I hope they changed the ejection angle for spent casings in their magnum actions especially. Their previous XBolts required the user to mount the scope high in order to clear the scope windage turret. Lets hope they've solved this issue and didn't just carry it over.
Awesome video Brady! Did you grow to like the CF barrel better than steel? Also how was that .300 PRC with factory ammo? I know you load your .300RUM to basically a .300 PRC but for someone shooting factory ammo how was it?
Great video. Thank you for sharing. This might be a stupid question for most, but I'm looking forward to getting the browning x bolt hunter 300win mag . Now, why is it that a handgun or shotgun you must hold it with both hands due to muzzle flip and recoil but not a hunting rifle. Can someone explain, please?
It is a dream to look at and shoot! Rifle is the Browning X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan SPR Carbon Fiber with a 22" Preferred barrel. Scope: Vortex Razor HD 6-36x56 FFP with a sunshade. Vortex scope caps. Vortex Precision Match Rings (.92 height). Recoil Hawg Muzzle brake.
Big fan of my older xbolt LR and agree there’s a market for this. But at that price I’d expect a manners stock w more adjustability and IMO brownings are great for affordable accuracy. 4k is into custom territory. Also wonder how much the 26” barrel option weighs, their website seems to list the 22 and 26 the same but that doesn’t make sense.
Very nice like the scope looks like my scope 👊🏻 good to see vortex making that color too . Have they done a max round test on the barrel to see how many rounds before degradation. We tested some CF barrels in the military before I left .
Had a A bolt 7mm rem mag back in the 90's that was one of the most consistently accurate rifles I've ever owned. Looking forward to seeing options on this new rifle and how available they will be
Wow, what a nice rifle. But no lefty:) I have an x-bolt hunter and love it. But I would have purchased a higher end model if there were lefty options available.
For this rifle, I actually kept everything stock. So I kept the stock bed job around the action, and also just mounted the 20 MOA picatinny rail without bedding that. I have to give this rifle back, but if I end up picking one up, I'll do some of my normal customization since I like to play around. But I will say, I was super impressed how easy this rifle was to shoot and how well it stacked groups.
My question is I just bought a x bolt speed in December in 7prc will these stocks be available to purchase to replace the old x bolt speed stock im so mad wish I would have waited
Brady, I'm wanting to buy a BROWNING X-BOLT PRO MCMLAN, 7MM PRC 24", but I'm waiting to see if the X bolt 2 action is worth waiting for?? Other than the slide changes from the X bolt to the X bolt 2, I don't think they have made other significant changes in the Pro McMilan setup. Should I wait for the X bolt 2?
Haha! They are something special! I will say, the 115 and ATX setup is amazing at the range. I record all of my rifle shots on the daily. Glad to see you noticed that in the background :)
Do you know if you can replace the old Xbolt feather trigger with the DLX? Would love to upgrade my Xbolt pro with a better trigger that still allows the bolt release button to work.
That's a great question. And I'm sorry I don't have an answer right now. I'm going to ask the guys at Browning this week when I have a meeting with them. Give me a few days, as my meeting is later in the week. But I just put a reminder in my phone to get this answer for you.
@@GEMStateFirearms Thanks for the response. I actually have 2 xbolts and put the m-carbo spring in my cheaper one and was only able to get it down to about 3 lbs. (maybe just under). Although that's better than the lowest of 3.7 lbs. I got my pro model down to, I wanted to see what options I have before doing the spring upgrade on that one.
It will be very hard for me to give up a 300 WM or stop shooting my 300 RUM. I'm sort of old school at times. Both of those cartridges have a special place in my heart. But the 300 PRC is definitely intriguing to me. The 300 PRC did great on my buck this fall, so time will tell. I do wish Browning kept the 300 RUM as an option.
@@brady_j_miller Thanks for the reply. I had a browning 300prc in my hands debating which one to pick. The sentimental 300wm won the debate due to my area of ammo supply and selection. There was zero boxes of ammo for the 300prc. I didn't feel under powered by my decision since i dont do long range hunting. It would be a good video if you compared the two brownings (300wm 300prc) at the range and see how they compare in the real world.
I have the X bolt and biggest design issue is the action and the bolt release button. I have fixed it 4 times (at $180/ea) because the pin keeps shearing and the bolt won’t release from rifle.
