Matthew Dwyer your stats seem fine! honestly i cant say for sure because at ucla theres people that have such different backgrounds. if you’re worried about your sat score dont stress too much because ucla puts more. emphasis on grades and extracurriculars than standardized tests. i know lots of people here who had low scores but were able to show their qualifications through their ECs and essay

I'm a freshman and I'm already worrying about colleges. I had two B's in Alg2/Trig and Literature. My GPA is 3.667 and I'm probably at the 40th percentile in my school in terms of GPA. My school is ranked 295th nationally, but i don't know if that will significantly impact my chances of getting into a good university.
Ryan Checks UCs don’t take freshman grades into account. However still try your best bc they impact your gpa big time
@@food3308 take higher level classes bc they boost your gpa. Also take a zero hour class if you can fit the same reason.
How are you paying for college as an out of state student? I just got accepted to UCLA but I’m worried about tuition and I don’t want crazy high student debt 😒

OMG TOUR OUT OF STATE!! I’m from Georgia in 9th grade my grades have been good my whole life until eighth grade I got one c in first semester my mom and I know it’s going to be very hard for me to get into UCLA because tuition is three times more for out of state students but I have the GPA and I run track

Hey! I messed up the SAT essay real bad by getting a score of 11/24 and got a decent SAT score of 1420(1600). Will the SAT essay lower my chances significantly?

Hello, this year I am a sophomore in high school and UCLA is my DREAMMMMM. I know that grades are essential for admittance so Ive always kept those up to par. But I also know many other factors are also considered. I come from a different background than most people because my parents were born in Morocco, Africa and immigrated to the United States. This year I created the women's advocacy club at my school. And I am in the works creating a non profit to raise money for the poor in Morocco to be able to afford their health care needs. I want to major in Neuroscience and working on volunteering at a hospital back in Morocco this summer. Also, this summer I was admitted to attend USC for a month to study Neuroscience for college credit. I also live in California (Bay Area). I feel ready for the personal insight questions because my life has had its ups and downs and I could use this outlet to my advantage. Do you think I have a chance and is there anything you think I should build upon?
