My Uncle was in the 193rd Special Operations for 30 years. He served on one of the planes communications.

Impressive but as a Veteran Paratrooper I still prefer jumping out of a Hercules.

Never seen an aerial refuel from the receiving end pov. That was neat.

what does the little steering wheel on the left side of the cockpit do? I saw the pilot moving it in this video. thanks for a very outstanding video. always like to see videos of the C-130's in action. they were my ride when I was in-country in Vietname

The last I knew of these planes they were flying the old E models. Have they all been converted to J models now?

      Yeah of course.... 😝😂😂😂
Naaah, PsyOp is basically just operations that aim to influence the target! It's about "hearts and minds"....
Fx. when running operations against ISIS it can be beneficial to tell the civilian population about what's happening!
If is better to convince civilians to avoid giving support to ISIS if they can or at least stay out of it and perhaps even leave the area - than it is to suddenly having to worry about whether or not the civilians will go rouge on your ass!

Is that Officer and/or Enlisted aircrew in the back? I'm just curious because in the 70's I was Naval Aircrew in the EC-130G/Q and the backend crew and the Flight Engineer were all Enlisted. Obviously I cannot tell you what we did. Only the Pilots and Navigators NFO's were Officers.

Looks to be all enlisted. Officers have insignia on their shoulders, enlisted do not.

Kind of confused, why would a Psychological Operations team need to be airborne? What benefits does that provide? What can they achieve in the air that they can't on the ground?
