The whole band is excellent and trust me you have only seen the tip oi the Lovebites iceberg, they have so many amazing songs and have only been together for 5 years. This band is very underrated they should be way more popular, and COVID only makes things worst since they cant tour, i hope after lockdowns are over they come to Europe so i can see them LIVE! If you really want to hear Lovebites and Bass listen to their studio live stream cover version of Helloween - Eagle Fly Free. Bass dominates through entire song with a tapping solo. When you said it requires practice to move the pick like Midori did and I agree, try Burden of Time from same Live stream where Miyako does the same, with a twist - she plays keyboards and guitar simultaneously. Miyako's classical piano is so clean and beautiful. Since they also do answer to people, I might ask Miyako if she will make a classical DVD or something.
You just have scratched the tip of the iceberg. As you have realized, they really shine live. I recommend songs from the concerts “Battle in the east”, “Wacken”, “Daughters of the dawn”, and especially “Five of a kind, Zepp Divercity, Tokyo 2020”; avoid “Bloodstuck” (bad audio)
I‘m so happy that you were able to make a great reaction to a live song. There is so much more to experience. For me the best concert ever would be Lovebites opening for BAND-MAID. In fact in 2019 Lovebites opnened for Dragonforce in their UK tour. I believe that Japan has provided an opportunity for rock/metal bands to revive and modernize music from the 80s (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc.) and especially the number of exciting bands that are mainly women. As fully described in the comments for „Winds of Transylvania“ @hiawatha Goldstein did a fabulous job of giving us an extensive background and list of links of the many Japanese bands. There is enough music there to last you for all of 2021 and it is all fantastic listening/watching. Enjoy! 🤘👍🎸🎸🎸
Great to see the appreciation from an actual musician! Yes, Maiden are a big influence, but they studied all the great historical metal bands going back to proto-metal bands like Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal--as you hear more of their stuff, you will pick up all of these influences and more. On top of it, Miyako, who writes a lot of their material, is a concert-level classical pianist, and she incorporates a lot of classical music structures into her compositions. She also plays a mean Chopin.
I hope so Hiawatha, they seem much more interesting than Dragonforce to me. Can't wait to hear some of that piano playing, I'm a big fan of Chopin's Piano Etudes!

I personally think the main riff in this one is the best they've ever done (thus far!). It hits all the right buttons and comes at you like a freight train. :)

If you get the chance to see them live I strongly recommend it, I've seen them many times over the last few years (before the coof) and they're always a blast seeing them in person! For a next thing to check out I might suggest Swan Song live from the same concert. For another band suggestion, IMO the most interesting of the Japanese girls rock band scene is Doll$Boxx - they mix rock and metal with synth sounds and aggressively funky slap bass with highly complex but catchy vocal arrangements between the various members (all the band members can sing and they use that to great effect). A common starting point for Doll$Boxx is the MV for their track Take My Chance: ua-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/v-deo.html However if you're willing to do a slightly longer clip there's this amazing bit of footage of them performing 3 tracks that really shows how stunningly good they are live: ua-cam.com/video/Q_ufJIdkbR0/v-deo.html What makes that live footage even more awesome is the day that footage was filmed they performed a 2 hour show as Doll$Boxx, took an hour break, then the musicians minus lead singer did a 2 and a half hour show as their other band Gacharic Spin - I was in attendance for both and the way they were still performing and singing with the energy and precision they had at the beginning of the first show by the end of the last show was incredible. Both shows from that day are available as DVD's and well worth getting your hands on if you try it and like what you see.

If you really want to hear Lovebites and Bass listen to their studio live stream cover version of Helloween - Eagle Fly Free. Bass dominates through entire song with a tapping solo.
When you said it requires practice to move the pick like Midori did and I agree, try Burden of Time from same Live stream where Miyako does the same, with a twist - she plays keyboards and guitar simultaneously.
Miyako's classical piano is so clean and beautiful. Since they also do answer to people, I might ask Miyako if she will make a classical DVD or something.

You just have scratched the tip of the iceberg. As you have realized, they really shine live. I recommend songs from the concerts “Battle in the east”, “Wacken”, “Daughters of the dawn”, and especially “Five of a kind, Zepp Divercity, Tokyo 2020”; avoid “Bloodstuck” (bad audio)

I‘m so happy that you were able to make a great reaction to a live song. There is so much more to experience. For me the best concert ever would be Lovebites opening for BAND-MAID. In fact in 2019 Lovebites opnened for Dragonforce in their UK tour. I believe that Japan has provided an opportunity for rock/metal bands to revive and modernize music from the 80s (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc.) and especially the number of exciting bands that are mainly women. As fully described in the comments for „Winds of Transylvania“ @hiawatha Goldstein did a fabulous job of giving us an extensive background and list of links of the many Japanese bands. There is enough music there to last you for all of 2021 and it is all fantastic listening/watching. Enjoy! 🤘👍🎸🎸🎸
That would be one hell of a concert! Hope once the pandemic is over they'll be able to headline in Europe
Great to see the appreciation from an actual musician! Yes, Maiden are a big influence, but they studied all the great historical metal bands going back to proto-metal bands like Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal--as you hear more of their stuff, you will pick up all of these influences and more. On top of it, Miyako, who writes a lot of their material, is a concert-level classical pianist, and she incorporates a lot of classical music structures into her compositions. She also plays a mean Chopin.
I hope so Hiawatha, they seem much more interesting than Dragonforce to me. Can't wait to hear some of that piano playing, I'm a big fan of Chopin's Piano Etudes!

If you get the chance to see them live I strongly recommend it, I've seen them many times over the last few years (before the coof) and they're always a blast seeing them in person! For a next thing to check out I might suggest Swan Song live from the same concert.
For another band suggestion, IMO the most interesting of the Japanese girls rock band scene is Doll$Boxx - they mix rock and metal with synth sounds and aggressively funky slap bass with highly complex but catchy vocal arrangements between the various members (all the band members can sing and they use that to great effect).
A common starting point for Doll$Boxx is the MV for their track Take My Chance: ua-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/v-deo.html However if you're willing to do a slightly longer clip there's this amazing bit of footage of them performing 3 tracks that really shows how stunningly good they are live: ua-cam.com/video/Q_ufJIdkbR0/v-deo.html
What makes that live footage even more awesome is the day that footage was filmed they performed a 2 hour show as Doll$Boxx, took an hour break, then the musicians minus lead singer did a 2 and a half hour show as their other band Gacharic Spin - I was in attendance for both and the way they were still performing and singing with the energy and precision they had at the beginning of the first show by the end of the last show was incredible. Both shows from that day are available as DVD's and well worth getting your hands on if you try it and like what you see.
