What a fantastic song. I am a fan of the band from 2017 and my emotions still are running high every time I listen to their music. I am 43, I listen rock and metal music from when I was 12 and I have to say, this band is a revelation. The best Power-thrash metal band in the world right now and probably the best metal band at least of the last 15 years. An almost illegal collection of raw, virtuoso talent. Your reactions of them are always good and this one is probably your best so far. You clearly “get” the band and it’s interesting to witness your journey to their music and their brilliance. Be ready to be amazed my friend this is a masterpiece and soon to be classified as a classic, one of the greatest composition in prog rock, it has so many levels and epicness it's crazy, this is one song I never get tired of hearing I know I've heard at least 100 times.
This is a song that gives me chills from start to finish, and the vocals! Asami really conveys emotions so well with her singing, she was such a good choice for the band! Haruna! What to say about her, she is one of my favorites so much respect for her, the moment when the transition kicks in and she's riding that bell and things get more intense, such good choices by her. She and Miho lay down a great foundation for the band. And then there's Miyako and Midori! There are so many moments in so many songs that i love, so many back to back solos where im left speechless, from their note choices, their technical ability, their stage presence, im one of those that likes Miyako cold attitude, Midori smiles all the time, Miyako almost never smiles, i like that contrast, plus she smiles a lot on her youtube channel so i know she isn't miserable, it's just her persona on stage (same thing with Saiki from Band Maid). Suggestions - Break the Wall, Empty Daydream, Scream for Me, Addicted, The Crusade, Epilogue, Under the Red Sky, Above the Black Sea, Shadowmaker, Thunder Vengeance all Live. 5 days until new mini-album is out! also they have 3 live shows scheduled for this month in Japan, if they dont get cancelled because of COVID we might get some new live videos! Another great video, thanks!
I love your appreciation of true music talent and your facial expressions are much like mind when it comes to Lovebites. Miyako's piano intro with Midori's weeping guitar and Asami's amazing vocals (she is so good and so much better than when the band first started) was awesome, but then for Miyako to go into the "Gary Moore" guitar solo was just something yours ears crave and never want to stop listening to. This song "is a journey" yes but with this band it is like taking it in Lamborghini at top speed on the open road, just complete exhilaration. The transitions here where they kept shifting gears was truly remarkable and if there was any doubt that these women are insanely talented that was punched out with this song. Great reaction and enjoyment of a great song from a band firing on all cylinders, they are relentless in the pursuit of perfection whether it is LIVE, in studio or for a MV.
Oh man, it's time for Edge of the World. If any song can show people that Lovebites are the real deal, this is one of them. @@salsaucedo Epilogue has some really epic Miyako slower tempo guitar solos, like extended versions of her solo in Edge of the World. Plus an extended dueling guitar solo that reminds me of Hotel California. Plus she goes back and forth between the piano and guitar multiple times during that song. There is epic, and then there is Lovebites. Haruna is a superstar on this song for me . This was a fantastic review and analysis. I knew you would absolutely love it.
LOVEBITES makes me want to get better. They make me want to pick up a guitar or bass guitar or sit behind my Frankenstein's monster of a drum kit or go out and buy a decent keyboard and simply improve my timing, my accuracy, work on scales and chords and tapping, find a vocal coach and work on projecting my voice better or perfecting my breathing, SOMETHING to get better as a musician. heck, they even make me want to work out so I can be a tenth as handsome as they are beautiful.
Excellent analysis! I believe that you have a great future as a yt reactor as you really go into depth concerning the music composition as well as the performance. As with BAND-MAID it is impossible to listen to Lovebites without feeling emotional and happy. Thank goodness we have both, and as well the uncovering of more Japanes gems in the future. 👍 👏 🎸 ❤️
@@akaalexanderking by the way, the guitar solo of Miyako is one of my all time favourite solos. I have been a long time Gary Moore fan and I had the feeling that Miyako has some of his influence in this solo. What do you think?
100%. I pointed out David Gilmour during the reaction because he's the one that probably embodies the essence of washed I was saying the most, but Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher, I think she has influences from all of the great blues guitar players 👍🏻
This is my favorite one song from Lovebites. Yes I love all song from Lovebites. But this song so special. This song have perfect transition. Thank you mate, you have great reaction, great analysis, and great explained. Next I'm still waiting for your reaction to "Signs of deliverance" from Lovebites😁
I knew you'd enjoy the composition on this song. I agree it's the passion and emotion that set it's apart. For me the Miyako solo is just so emotion packed and beautiful. I think only her solo in the song , Epilogue can compete with it. I agree some songs require less which is more. The space between notes also means something. The slower guitar solo each note seems to cry out. It's all about what the song requires.
They went from a sweet ballad to a classic rock sound with a Satriani/Santana extra-feeling guitar solo and then to the smoothest transition to ended with they epic power metal.. You said it, a beatiful musical journey. Ps: If you want some more Lovebites, check Raise Some Hell, 5 minutes of pure madness.
Great reaction and review! Yes, I have the same David Gilmour feeling on the Miyako solo. So good! The entire music is a masterpiece, my favorite from them. See you next
I believe this song is their masterpiece. It has everything that's amazing about Lovebites in one song. If you want to see a different kind of emotional performance, I would recommend this live performance of Journey to the Other Side: ua-cam.com/video/zfOwIVzSG80/v-deo.html. As Lovebites songs go, it's a fairly straightforward rocker. However, Miho wrote it as a dedication to her father who had recently passed away and... well, watch it and see. This is more than a band, it's almost a family.
Loved your reaction and insight!! Asami and Miyako do a acoustic version of one of their songs Rising. It's truly a masterpiece. The original version is also recommended. Some other songs by them to check out are Epilogue, Empty Daydream, Liar, Under the Red Sky & my personal favorite Frozen Serenade (doesn't have a live or music video). Frozen Serenade has a really good fan made video which is a compilation of their various concerts.
I agree with what you said about talent. You can have a sort of sixth sense about some things, but it takes a lot of passion and determination to keep practicing enough to get on this level. I have come to respect your perspectives and ability to analyze music. Happy to be on this journey with you!
@@CaffeineNightOwl Yeah, A Frozen Serenade is such an amazing song!! Sorry I didn't reply during the premiere. I was watching on my phone and my chat froze.

A very emotional song indeed, and you absolutly have to enable subtitles to enjoy beautiful and touching lyrics from Asami, they really contribute to the beauty of each of their songs :-) Thank you for your reaction and cheers from France !
I did, thank you and i was sure, this song is a pleasure to react. Remember, LOVEBITES are: Haruna drums Miho bass Miyako piano and guitar Midori guitar Asami vocals Thank you for your reactions to LOVEBITES and ASTERISM, i'm sure there will be more. Until then, have a nice cup of tea and stay well.
Excellent reaction, again. Thank you! 😊 👏 9:35 Yeah! 😁 Lovebites = The best of the best, giving their best. 😊 And their lyrics, oh my God.... An additional layer of art. Also the words of this song, especially of this song. 🥲
I agree with everything that you said. This song is a masterpiece, a journey, and every part of the song gets you with different emotions that only is complete once you finished listening to the song. But, just like you, my favorite part is the first part; the piano part and the Asami vocals that are eerily beautiful. Soo much emotions there it always gives me goosebumps especially the part that Asami unleashed the long note with no musical instruments at all. Way, way, way too good. Thanks for the reaction and analysis man, I really enjoyed it. Cheers 🤘🏼🤘🏼
They are definitely one of the best bands ever for solos, harmonization and transitions. I haven't found yet one band that does that in every song or that each and every song of every album is exceptional. They are just masters of their instruments. Lyrics are also very powerful, Asami's writing is one of the best. All five of them are ... like their DVD states - Five of a Kind, epic Goddesses for sure. Miyako's classical piano is so good. The way how she plays the piano and moves her fingers shows she is a master of it. Epilogue is one of the best ballads written, it did make many, both men and women weep. Love Asterism, Scandal, nemophila, Aldious, Band-Maid and another 20-30 all female bands. These Asian ladies are just amazing. You give a guitar to a 13-16 year old and after 6 months they are shredding that thing like there's no tomorrow. They also prove the saying: "No matter how good you are, how much you practice, there is a tiny Asian girl that is just better than you". :) Since I listened to few reactions and liked them, gave a sub! Keep it up!
Hi, I agree with your comparison between Miyako's solo and David Gilmour. However Gilmour (aged 74) has been playing the guitar for around sixty years, Miyako for twelve. I wonder how good she will be in fifty years' time. I assme that you know that the piano is Miyako's first instrument. She has studied classical piano for twenty-seven of her thirty years and reached concert performance level. She only started to teach herself to play guitar at eighteen while she was at university. Midori, who is probably around the same age as Miyako, is the same, she studied classical piano ands keybords from the age of two and only gave it up when she went to university. She started learning to play guitar at twenty when she dropped out of Pharmacology College.
LOVEBITES - Edge Of The World lyrics: Perché impariamo a odiare, ingannare e mentire, ferirci a vicenda? Perché non finisce mai? Il dolore continua a ripetersi Piangendo, vieni scrosci di pioggia Finirà? Nessuno lo sa mai Chiedendosi, cosa solo il tempo può dire Cosa c'è alla fine della vita? Perché vediamo solo i nostri desideri? L'avidità è infinita Perché c'è autorità quando non c'è giustizia nelle loro decisioni Lottando come idioti deboli e indifesi Finirà? Nessuno lo sa mai Vagando, non sapendo dove andare Portando il respiro della vita In piedi a ... 14:39 "Rising" piano and vox version by Asami and Miyako just suits the bill! It has been known to make grown people get damp eyes. (Comparable to NIGHTWISH's "How's the Heart?" done acoustic only by Troy and Floor.) Of course, you would do well to react to both the full band version and the acoustic at the same sitting to get the comparison going. Whatever you do, keep rocking! \m/
Lovely analysis, I thought first of Gary Moore for Mi-ya's early solo. SO much feeling in the bent notes. Exquisitely gorgeous. It might as well be her "Comfortably Numb". Priceless band; hope they reform into something as great if not better after Miho has left. Mellotron, keyboards throughout and obviously either piped in or played by unseen hands, maybe they need to be a 6-piece in a new incarnation.
I think what Lovebites brought to us were some high quality end products which were arranged so that these product could reached their full potential, or might I say, the perfect balance to be served for the audience's satisfaction.. 'Talent' only had a small proportion in these end products, IMO, and couldn't agree to you more for your words about it.. This song had a similarity with a song 'Yuushinron' by RADWIMPS for their step by step ascending beats/moods to reach the songs' climax, although they played different genre..
My favorit song of Lovebites is Frozen Serenade. The scheme is similar to this masterpiece. Ladies showed all their emotions and skills. This song is perfect and composed by Mao male composer who colaborates with Ladies. Great.
that´s my favourite too of all the magnificient lovebites songs.:) a bit different in pace, with spanish guitar, intense soli and also epic, with haunting melodies and emotional like this one ... Dennis Kent, who made an excellent video to this song was present at todays livestream :)
they actually do have some live performances with miyako on piano and asami singing their songs- tho i have NO IDEA where you could watch it~~ people had reacted to an acoustic version of their song “rising” a while ago, but i think the video got removed from youtube...
There is a piano/vocal performance of Rising which Asami and Miyako gave over Christmas. I can’t find it at the moment, but other reaction channels have (without crediting it). If you can find it I PROMISE you’ll love it.
this is one of their best songs. you´ll see. if you ever need a rest from all these glorious japanese bands, I would like to make a recommendation/suggestion: Ayreon. (if you know them already or hate prog metal, you don´t need to read further). otherwise: in the netherlands there lives a tall, friendly, cool and talented guitarist, musician and composer. he has played in several metal bands in the eighties and nineties. then he decided to retreat a bit and became a prog metal mastermind. he created an own universe and composed contemporary prog metal at it´s finest. he records mostly at home and invites guest musicians and singers. for the song "into the black hole" for example, he was able to get bruce the siren. on the suggested song "the day that the world breaks down" ua-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/v-deo.html there are eleven guest singers (some very familiar faces among them, I do not want to spoil more). everybody plays a certain role, almost like a metal opera. on top of it the master gives insight informations during the video. he also is very helpful and has helped already some reactors to deal with his record company. and he is watching reaction videos and sometimes comments them, if he likes them. see you at the lovebites reaction stream.
@@akaalexanderking I wanted it to be a surprise for you, that floor and hansi are in this. but this was spoiled in the comments to the GLS reaction. doesn´t matter. :) but check it out and have a nice day, GG
Keep that solo talk in mind when you get to Break the Wall. Very funny to hear you talk about thrash and solo's: just listen to the song then youll see. Be sure to get the Five of a Kind version for the Gibson!
@@akaalexanderking I also wanted to touch on the slow solo talk you had in your video. Im not a player, but love the guitar: im not the right man to talk about technical things, but i love discussing music. I think slow, emotional parts are more difficult to get right. If i keep the lovely Lovebites the subject here, you can see how much they grew in a year. On the 2019 live show they are struggling with the slow parts, sometimes making some mistakes. That wil be evident when youll watch Epilogue, im sure youll notice. I would love to hear that song with the progress they made these last years. Im a sucker for the long notes in guitar solo's. When i was young my father not only introduced me to hard rock, but also rock blues. Gary Moore, Walter Trout, Jeff Healey, SRV are just a couple of the names, i still listen to them from time to time!
That's what I call a good musical upbringing! Absolutely, in a slower solo every note counts more, which means that every little mistake is also way more noticeable. And those really are the solos that stick with you. SRV for me was one of the very few players to achieve that level of intensity on every note even on his crazily fast licks, simply because of how good he played and how well constructed his solos were. To me, he was superior even to Jimi Hendrix in that
@@akaalexanderking I have to agree with your SRV take: whenever he played a Hendrix song, I like Stevie's version better. Its not a contest for me though, as long as it sounds good. I dont believe in "the best guitarist". There are a lot of great ones, but the best just doesn't exist.
@@akaalexanderking People should check out music from Miyako's old band 21g and her side project Sonic Lovers Reckless. Both bands have a very different sound than Lovebites.
@@akaalexanderking 21g is a straight ahead rock band. She was the junior member since the bassist and vocalist were from some really big classic Japanese rock acts. SLR is her and a singer. She uses a seven string for SLR. ua-cam.com/video/cTIodbyTdbQ/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/DXZ-qhxd1VI/v-deo.html
I'm not sure I'd agree with you in not believing in talent but I agree that talent can only take you so far. Without the driving passion, dedication, hard work, commitment and thought, talent is just a pony trick. There comes a point however when sheer exceptionalism becomes a driving force in its own right; when the depth of a person's or groups' collective ability demands creativity of them. As the old saying has it... "Talent does what it can, Genius does what it must."
Beautifully said Michaela. My point about talent is more so along the lines of: it exists, but I think it's influenced by one's upbringing and exposition to other art rather than being something we're just born with

Amen my friend, amen 🤘🏻
They went from a sweet ballad to a classic rock sound with a Satriani/Santana extra-feeling guitar solo and then to the smoothest transition to ended with they epic power metal.. You said it, a beatiful musical journey. Ps: If you want some more Lovebites, check Raise Some Hell, 5 minutes of pure madness.
Thanks Hernan, it's on the list ;)
Great reaction and review!
Yes, I have the same David Gilmour feeling on the Miyako solo. So good!
The entire music is a masterpiece, my favorite from them.
See you next
Thanks Yamada! It is an absolute masterpiece, and it gets better the more I listen to it!
Thanks Paul, 100% agree. And thanks for the recommendation :)
Definitely a family - no "almost" about it. And she didn't drop a note! 🤘💜😢
👍🏻
Miho Miho Miho!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Loved your reaction and insight!! Asami and Miyako do a acoustic version of one of their songs Rising. It's truly a masterpiece. The original version is also recommended. Some other songs by them to check out are Epilogue, Empty Daydream, Liar, Under the Red Sky & my personal favorite Frozen Serenade (doesn't have a live or music video). Frozen Serenade has a really good fan made video which is a compilation of their various concerts.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions! :)
I agree with what you said about talent. You can have a sort of sixth sense about some things, but it takes a lot of passion and determination to keep practicing enough to get on this level. I have come to respect your perspectives and ability to analyze music. Happy to be on this journey with you!
Thanks Dennis, that really means a lot!
hello dennis, I love " a frozen serenade" too.
@@CaffeineNightOwl Yeah, A Frozen Serenade is such an amazing song!! Sorry I didn't reply during the premiere. I was watching on my phone and my chat froze.
@@DennisKent all good :) thank you dennis and you all for sharing our appreciation of these five amazing ladies. and dennis especially too for the great video. hope, many are gonna watch it. the song is so amazing too.
A very emotional song indeed, and you absolutly have to enable subtitles to enjoy beautiful and touching lyrics from Asami, they really contribute to the beauty of each of their songs :-) Thank you for your reaction and cheers from France !
Thanks Eric, glad you enjoyed. Cheers from Ireland!
This is great with Miyako's piano intro (a grand piano!) and Asami sings so high, that nobody would think that this is a song from the encore.
Brace yourself, it's going to be a long reaction video 😁
I can imagine why the reaction video has become rather long, because there's a lot good things going on in this song, gives you much to react.
Exactly, hope you enjoyed!
I did, thank you and i was sure, this song is a pleasure to react.
Remember, LOVEBITES are:
Haruna drums
Miho bass
Miyako piano and guitar
Midori guitar
Asami vocals
Thank you for your reactions to LOVEBITES and ASTERISM, i'm sure there will be more.
Until then, have a nice cup of tea and stay well.
Thanks, I'll try not to choke myself with it 😂
METALLICA -KING
LOVEBITES - QUEEN
😊☺️
I like that Hers. Long live both 🤘🏻
Imagine It's from their first Album " Awakening from Abyss " 2017 ! Just...Epic ! Thank's for Your great support to Lovebites, Bro. Stay Save 🤘😎🤘
Thanks Mathias, likewise!
Excellent reaction, again. Thank you! 😊 👏
9:35 Yeah! 😁
Lovebites = The best of the best, giving their best. 😊
And their lyrics, oh my God....
Cheers 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thanks for watching as always man, glad you enjoyed!
@@akaalexanderking you're very welcome. Your reaction is always enjoyable to watch 😊
Since I listened to few reactions and liked them, gave a sub! Keep it up!
Thanks for the support, appreciate it! They really are fantastic, what a time to be alive (and possibly in Japan 😂)
next please add to list:
Lovebites - Epilogue >> full ballad song
Thanks, it's the biggest request so far ;)
Absolutely impressive, fantastic musicians
LOVEBITES - Edge Of The World lyrics:
Perché impariamo a odiare, ingannare e mentire, ferirci a vicenda?
Perché non finisce mai? Il dolore continua a ripetersi
Piangendo, vieni scrosci di pioggia
Finirà? Nessuno lo sa mai
Chiedendosi, cosa solo il tempo può dire
Cosa c'è alla fine della vita?
Perché vediamo solo i nostri desideri? L'avidità è infinita
Perché c'è autorità quando non c'è giustizia nelle loro decisioni
Lottando come idioti deboli e indifesi
Finirà? Nessuno lo sa mai
Vagando, non sapendo dove andare
Portando il respiro della vita
In piedi a ... The Edge of the World
Come vivi vivrà sempre
Come il tuo modo di vivere, per sempre
Il modo in cui vivi vivrà sempre
Come il tuo modo di vivere, per sempre
Grazie :)
Great reaction...LOVEBITES for me they are on the same level of the great metal bands of the past, indeed of some perhaps superior.for MIYAKO no words to describe incredible talent, and beutiful girl😍😍girl....i don't know why LOVEBITES and BAND MAID they don't have the success they deserve also in the rest of the world
It might take time, but I'm sure they'll get the recognized they deserve 🤘🏻
nice reaction♪👍❤️
この後のlast song we the Unitedまで聴いて欲しかった〜次回是非とも reaction観たいです。
Thanks! :)
LOVEBITES - Edge Of The World lyrics:
Why do we learn to hate, deceive and lie, hurt each other?
Why does it never end? The sorrow keeps on repeating
Wailing, come downpours of the rain
Will it end? No one ever knows
Wondering, what only time can tell
What is at the end of life?
Why do we only see our own desires? Greed is endless
Why is there authority when there is no justice in their rulings
Struggling like feeble, helpless fools
Will it end? No one ever knows
Wandering, not knowing where to go
Carrying the breath of life
Standing at… The Edge of the World
As long as you're still alive, remember
- don't fear standing up, don't ever give it up
Until the day you meet your end, it's not over
- let your soul shine inside of your heart
As long as you're still alive, remember
- keep your dignity, stay true to who you are
Until the day you meet your end, it's not over
- let your heart love and always be loved
How you live will always live on
As your way of life, forever
How you live will always live on
As your way of life, forever
How you live will always live on
As your way of life, forever
Thanks for the lyrics!
Wonderful analysis and reaction, thank you! If they wanted to go in the symphonic rock direction, they would nail it.
They absolutely would! Glad you enjoyed :)
Fantastic as always 😍
They are just phenomenal 👍🏻
this song remembering me to MIHO. T T .... make me tearing up bro... \m/
I love this song. 🤘🤩🤘
Absolutely outstanding!
Great reaction.
Glad you enjoyed Jonathan
14:39 "Rising" piano and vox version by Asami and Miyako just suits the bill! It has been known to make grown people get damp eyes. (Comparable to NIGHTWISH's "How's the Heart?" done acoustic only by Troy and Floor.)
Of course, you would do well to react to both the full band version and the acoustic at the same sitting to get the comparison going.
Thanks for your feedback, curious to listen to that now!
My favorit song of Lovebites is Frozen Serenade. The scheme is similar to this masterpiece. Ladies showed all their emotions and skills. This song is perfect and composed by Mao male composer who colaborates with Ladies. Great.
Thanks, curious to check that one out :)
that´s my favourite too of all the magnificient lovebites songs.:) a bit different in pace, with spanish guitar, intense soli and also epic, with haunting melodies and emotional like this one ... Dennis Kent, who made an excellent video to this song was present at todays livestream :)
Can't wait!
Ciao Alessandro. Bel video. Bravo
Grazie Gabriele :)
Epic reaction for an epic song.
Glad you enjoyed Mihoshi :)
they actually do have some live performances with miyako on piano and asami singing their songs- tho i have NO IDEA where you could watch it~~ people had reacted to an acoustic version of their song “rising” a while ago, but i think the video got removed from youtube...
How sad... Still, good to know they actually do that!
Next songs Raise Some Hell, Hammer Of Wrath, Break The Wall, Scream For Me, watch their crazy solo's
Friday... ;)
There is a piano/vocal performance of Rising which Asami and Miyako gave over Christmas. I can’t find it at the moment, but other reaction channels have (without crediting it). If you can find it I PROMISE you’ll love it.
I believe you Alek. I think they could even play Jingle Bells like that and I'd still love it 😂
this is one of their best songs. you´ll see.
if you ever need a rest from all these glorious japanese bands, I would like to make a recommendation/suggestion: Ayreon.
Wow, I don't know how or why but I don't think I've ever heard of him. But it sounds like something worth checking out 😁
@@akaalexanderking oh yes.
@@akaalexanderking I wanted it to be a surprise for you, that floor and hansi are in this. but this was spoiled in the comments to the GLS reaction. doesn´t matter. :) but check it out and have a nice day, GG
I will for sure, very curious to see if the delivery is as good as the premise 😁
Keep that solo talk in mind when you get to Break the Wall. Very funny to hear you talk about thrash and solo's: just listen to the song then youll see. Be sure to get the Five of a Kind version for the Gibson!
Thanks Bob, if that's a Gibson involved I'm all down for that 😁
@@akaalexanderking I also wanted to touch on the slow solo talk you had in your video.
Well said my friend 👍🏻
Miyako is a genius! :)
Hard to disagree :)
@@akaalexanderking People should check out music from Miyako's old band 21g and her side project Sonic Lovers Reckless. Both bands have a very different sound than Lovebites.
Different in which way? More classically inspired?
@@akaalexanderking 21g is a straight ahead rock band. She was the junior member since the bassist and vocalist were from some really big classic Japanese rock acts. SLR is her and a singer. Thanks Aratha!
My point about talent is more so along the lines of: it exists, but I think it's influenced by one's upbringing and exposition to other art rather than being something we're just born with
Please do metal from israel that has arabic feeling orphaned land- ocean land(live 2011)
Also israel has some amazing prog metal bands with guitar work that will make your jaw drop especially scardust & yossi sassi band& subterranean masquerade & obsidian tide

Three more Lovebites songs that are a must. "Epilogue" which really showcase an emotional and beautiful ballad, "Scream For Me" which is basically a long crazy guitar duel and "We The United" which is almost their anthem song.
