BJJ is the most brain-storming one out of all the martial arts I have tried so far.

K Guard is the future of bottom BJJ in MMA. Not only can you matrix backtake but you can enter Backside 50/50 which is a great finishing position for heel hooks. I think that backside 50/50 has great applications for MMA as your opponent is facing away from you and must deal with the threat of submission which can be used to prevent strikes and to use it to stand back up

K Guard was coined by Neil Melanson not because the leg looks like a K but actually honoring MMA legend Karo (K) Parisyan.
If you catch any of his old fights he uses that type of guard a lot to get the the legs for leg attacks (as Haysan was a heavy leg lock focused gym) and bridging with a gable grip to avoid punches when on his back.
It’s nice to see some old forgotten game in MMA coming back through rediscover of BJJ and refinements back to MMA.
Thanks for covering this Jeff. Can’t wait to see you back in the big screen.

Just a small detail that I noticed, you said during the demonstration to swing your foot around and put it in their arm pit to start pushing them away… but in pretty much every successful attempt I watched it wasn’t until you brought that foot behind their butt/thigh that the move became successful.
