Today I took a drive way up north to Pittsburg, New Hampshire to hike Mt. Magalloway. This has been a mountain on the 52 with a view list that I've been wanting to hike for a while, but it was just so far away! I figured the best time to do this hike would be during the peak foliage season so I can take advantage of all the amazing views!

Appalachian Trail Thru-Hike 2023 #appalachiantrail #hundredmilewilderness #at2023
Son of NH here and retired civil engineer. Fun Fact: I designed the municipal wastewater collection and disposal system for the Town of Pittsburg in the late 80s.
Glad you had a great hike, Taylor! I’ll add Magalloway to my bucket list.
Drove up to NH from GA last week to do some hiking in the area for the 1st time. The trees! The colors! It was like driving through a bowl of fruit loops.
It’s never too far if it makes you happy and brings good memories. Sometimes it’s about the drive as well. That’s why I love my road trips.
Yeah, I do a few day hikes on the AT, love the road trips, trying to find the parking the first time etc. kinda like through-hikers hike the AT "vertically" and day hikers hike it horizontally. That probably makes no sense at all ;)
7 hour drive for 2 mile hike with a cold. Your a beast.👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘.
For anyone that finds the drive too long, Magalloway is not required for the 52WAV list. They will accept any 52 viewpoints out of 59 (52 + 7 "retired"). So, you can substitute Iron mt, Square Ledge (Sandwich wilderness), Hibbard mt, Black mt (Jackson), Wolf mt, West Royce, or Carr mt.
NOT FIRST!😢 Taylor I’m up in NC this week hiking in the Smokies! You definitely have been rubbing off on me!😂❤
I bet you'll get some nice future panorama shots with the drone.
You are tenacious Nahamsha! The foliage in Maine is wonky this year. Too much rain and still no frost at the coast. Hope you feel better soon. ✌️
Hiking in the fall is so pretty🌻👣
I have driven from PA to Harper's Ferry to hike 3 hours, so no explanation needed.
Excited to see this because I spent every summer growing up in Pittsburg, on First and Second CT Lakes. Grandfather had a nice camp on First Lake. Lots of memories. My brother was a guide every summer and took people fishing way back towards the Maine border. My grandmother (she in a dress)and grandfather used to hike into NH from Quebec to Boundary Pond. Excellent fishing for Brook trout. They would fry them up right there and make black camp coffee. So many memories. I’ve done that hike many times. Thanks for the memories. Love the drone!
Great short hike .thanks for bringing us along
Love the drone footage. Thanks Taylor!
Very nice! The drone flight certainly adds the forth dimension! Soon enough you'll be floating thru the forest as well. Excellent addition to your repertoire. You brought back some very good memories of when I lived in Rochester and my first experience of New England's legendary Fall, big snows and freezing car locks! Happy trails as always
LOVE the drone. Thanks Taylor, your hikes always inspire no matter what.
That drive is pretty this time of year. I wouldn't mind it at all.
You got the views we got. The road in was a bit crazy but we saw a moose. We also decided to make it a day trip and stopped at some beautiful falls on the way back and then hit Percy Peak, which I wish I finished my 52s on instead of Success.
Hope you are feeling better!
What a fun new piece of equipment! I’m sure you will share gorgeous views and enjoy learning how to use your new gear all at the same time, thanks for sharing 😊
Taylor…it’s great to see you again. Sorry you’re dealing with a cold. It’s always fun to go on a hike with you in any weather. Keep the video’s coming please. Hope you’re better now. Bye
A sweet hike for Autumnal colors. Thank you for taking us along. Bless your heart.. I could tell in that last clip that your ears were popping. Bless you for hiking with a cold. Hope you feel better soon!✌️❤️
Hi Nahamsha - could really feel the work getting up there! Glad you rode through your cold, & had this day. As always thanks to y’all for taking us along ☮️🌱
Miss you by a day. My GF and I did that hike on the 10th and had much better views from the overlook. We did the same loop. I liked the bobcat trail a lot more than the Coot trail.
It looked like a nice hike, I'm glad you got some good views from the second tower.
Pleasant video this morning Thanks
Great video, Taylor, and thanks for taking us along.
Hey! Good to see you on!
So cool that you got a drone. Great drone shots at the end of the thick forest. Beautiful! Nice day hike!
This is still on my list!! I've done most of the firetowers but not this one.
The drone is a nice addition to your videos, enjoyed the views & the hike. Hope you feel better soon.
I am glad you hiked that mountain. Our friends have a camp up in Pittsburg an I climbed it with her when we were up there once. Great views in nice weather. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Drove there a couple weeks ago! Took me over 4 hours but definetly worth it! Beautiful!
Crazy! You're as far to that trail as I am but I live in Quebec! It's nice to see you take on a shorter less taxing hike after all of that rain in Maine.
Taylor, you do even a short hike especially with an noticeable quick elevation gain can be challenging. The idea to utilize a drone is great… I myself have thought about buying one to hike and record adventures. ❤ Thank I do appreciate & enjoy your vlogs . Prayer for healing from your cold. 😊
You did good. Enjoyed it. Thanks
Only another hiker truly gets the commitment for driving long miles for a shorter hike.😂😂. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Hikers are donning hunter orange. Tis the season.
We love your videos. Would you ever consider doing a video on how to section hike the 100 mile wilderness? Maybe some tips to do it that way.
Love the video. Thank you for taking us along.
Thanks for sharing…enjoyed the drone views as well. Be well soon 🙂🙏
That was a minor hike for you. Hope you feel better soon! 🍁❤🍁
Only human for miles.... what a glorious hike.
I love adding drone footage to my videos. I use the follow me features to follow my bicycle when riding. My channel is not monetized so I don't need to get the part 107 liscense yet. In the future I will though. Great video as usual. Hope you feel better soon.
New toy!
Hope you feel better
The steepness of the trail reminds me of Mt. Rowe via the white dot trail (road).
🦋
Have to see the views. I do a drive like this in NC every weekend
You should do Monadnock or Wachusetts and get some peak foliage shots with your drone
I climbed Monadnock once. It was way too crowded. It is one of the most climbed mountains in the U.S.
@@spectrum10 There are numerous trails to the top of Monadnock just don't take the white dot/white cross. Start from halfway house and do the Monta Rosa/Smith trail or from the main lot Parker and Cliff walk. Both during the peak in the summer I only saw a couple of other hikers but if you do the white dot/white cross you'll see tons of people
@@spectrum10 Although even Monadnock is probably way past peak, I'm in RI and looks like peak foliage here right now.
The Connecticut River begins in that area- that's where the Connecticut Lakes are located.
Taylor looks like a fun little hike with a lot of elevation in 2 miles. Curious, what day pack do you use?
Thanks Mike D
Peep the Leafs!

Nice ! What kind of drone did you get ?
👍
how are you liking your lone peaks?
UA-cam said I have a add blocker and to turn it off,I did. Now they block me, I found a way around, and can still watch videos. They are Bad, without viewers there is no UA-cam.
Without adds, the service wouldn’t function and content creators wouldn’t get paid - you could also buy UA-cam premium.
Don’t bother, these videos are just LMNT ads now anyway 😂
I have been to the Parking lot many times, but, never climbed Magalloway.
Now I have two reasons to follow you.
Do you have a part 107 Iic from the FAA to fly your drone commercially. If not has anyone hassled you yet ? By their way of thinking monetized videos are a commercial venture.
What drone do you use? Ty
Do you not tie your shoes? Just saw u slip those bad boys on!
I really mean this you have a great voice snd way of speaking. You should be in some kind of news reporting on the air. That would fit you. Nice video.
nice hike! I personally hate drones because they can film me without my permission. And they harass wildlife. But done appropriately, they do get some nice footage.
where you hiking sat 80 here in pa
I'm getting ready to do that in April for the solar eclipse. I want to say it's on the 4th. Full solar eclipse across the top of NH. Really hope it isn't cloudy.
Edit: it's the 8th
Eclipse is on the 8th. Good luck with the clouds
I think totality might cross Katadyn. Would be way cool to see it there.
