  • I'd love to hear your thoughts on this lights design and function. I've personally got some concerns. I love Olight and I love the light but there are some issues with this lights tactical design that would love your thoughts on. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video. I believe some of these issues are now addressed with the release of the M2R pro. However I can see what you mean with regard to the tail cap features and modes on the M2R. I personally think Olight should have given people a little more choice when it came to the configuration of the M2R tail switch features and modes. I think the 1500 lumen option should be a constant on option rather than the strobe feature. Or atleast it should have been an option. The strobe could still be there just not in place of a 1500 lumen constant on that is activeted by a full press of the tail switch. Also you're not alone about the strobe feature. It could be useful in certain applications, however, I have read a few comments written by people saying that they find a strobe feature in general a burden to use as it can be difficult to use without becoming distracted.

I have both the M2R and the M1X, and I carry the M1X the vast majority of the time. I just like the UI better, being able the program the first soft press of the tail switch for whatever level that I want it at.

If you want the back switch to leave the light on not strobe hold the the tail switch and press the side button and there when you deep press the tail switch it will stay on If that was what you were wondering if you could

Not sure if I'd call it a flaw, more of a choice. The Klarus 360X3 might be more to your liking.

I'm sure you are embarrassed now for posting this video!
Because I'm sure by now you realize that's not a design flaw, it's user error! LOL
You have it set on tactical mode. Im sure you now realize if you change it back to regular mode, you can access the Turbo from the tail switch to stay on constantly.

If you consult the manual you will see that while in Tactical Mode a soft press will give you turbo whilst a deep press give you momentary strobe which is what I'm demonstrating in the video. I'm not embarrassed. Lol.

@@josephchandler2302 In your video you stated you felt it was a design flaw that you were not able to access Turbo from the tail switch in constant on. I assume by now you figured out that is incorrect. That's why I was teasing you about your video.
There was no design flaw, it was user error.

@@r.w.7232 I specified that you cannot access the advertised 1500 Lumens as a constant on option from the tail switch. You can do turbo in the standard mode from the tailswitch with constant on.

@@josephchandler2302 if you said that, I missed it. So, where is the design flaw?

@@r.w.7232 In my honest opinion if you design a light at 1500 Lumens and advertise it as such but then limit it to momentary on that's an error. I explained in the video why someone might want 1500 as a constant and demonstrated what that looks like with the M1X Striker. I like olight don't get me wrong but this was a design that most people took issue with. Luckily they did away with that silly "tactical mode" with the intro of the M2R Pro.
