As you say, here in the UK, it's the glorious sunny days amidst the clouds, rain and sleet, that makes a big impact.

I've never been on a narrow boat before but I think the best thing about living on a boat ⛵ is that if you have a bad neighbour you can simply move away from him quite easily.

That’s one of the reasons why my husband and I lived full-time in a motorhome for 14 years. We didn’t like the area or we didn’t like the people or we didn’t like the weather whatever we were just turn on that engine and move on down the road.
That is a good point, but in the 5 years afloat, I have been lucky to have never had a bad neighbour. It's really odd, but you might be moored up in a whole line of boats, but once you're inside your own one, you're not really aware of anyone else next to you. Waxwings are definitely beautiful birds and can be quite entertaining when the whole flock gets into a currant bush that's loaded with fermented berries. They're a hoot then.

The Weaver area up near the Anderton boat lift and nature park and Marbury Park is beautiful. So much untouched nature and ancient woods with bluebells, wood anenomies and wild garlic. Last year the scents all came together. 😍

The story of flint for me was SO interesting. I live in a flint old stable and always imagined a lot of gnarled elderly men sitting around knapping the stones for my dwelling. Now I wonder if my stones were sold off being too big to grind down for Mr Wedgewood. Whither thou goest this summer I will follow……wouldn’t miss an adventure with you for anything.

You was right that was a grand journey nice to see round the flint mill, the flint did a lot of traveling before and after it was milled. If that chain saw hadn't struck up reckon you might of fed the robin. we haven't seen a lot of outdoors this week we both got the cold bug cor roll on spring. All the best Gary n Irene

Seeing that Bullfinch - Lucky You - I can't remember the last one I saw one out in the wild - As a kid in the 50's/60's they were as common as Sparrows (Nearly) .... People would keep them as pets along with Canaries and Budgies .... I hope that wasn't what's led to the apparent demise ... Some Excellent footage - Especially the Beetle shots ... That must be 'some camera' you've got there 🤠

Zephyr’s timing is perfect; first, she has a good old roll in something, even though she was asked not to, just when you’re preoccupied with the camera, and, second, dropping her very proudly found icky ball in front of you for a game of catch😂😂😂 and you very gamely picked it up and threw it for her. Another lovely cruise aboard the Alice Grace! Pretty gardens along the canal. I just received your 2023 Nature Journal last night and of course I checked out all of the beautiful illustrations first. I'll read the poetry next. Can't wait! You certainly had a wonderfully sunny day to cruise in, with yellow daffodils and other pretty flowers to enjoy. The songbirds and ducks are out and about too more, I'm sure. A gorgeous illustration of Flint the beetle and the English Robin too! So elegant compared to the chunkier American Robin! Jenny 💜🐦🪲🪳

Good evening Vanessa what a difference a bit of sunshine makes. l did think of the old saying don't cast a clout till May is out and there u were discarding ur jacket, but it was soon back on not much of heat from the sun yet its still brrrrr in places 😂😂. So nice to see the flowers appearing and the birds starting their courting rituals definitely a sign winter is on its way out. Zephyr looked so cute bobbing up and down for u to throw the worn out ball, and taking no notice of ur strict instructions not to roll in anything 😂.
