The opening movement ('Stoic Theme') is a tremendous textbook example of how to develop a theme. The more I listen to Thomas Newman's music, the more deeply I appreciate it. Amazing composer!

I live in Columbus, Ohio , about an hours drive from The Mansfield Reformatory where the Prison scenes were shot. The Oak Tree that Andy wanted Red to find was spilt by lightening in a huge thunderstorm in 2011 and eventually was knocked down by strong winds in late July of 2016.
It has been said that hope, in all it perennial vagaries, is the beggar of faith... and yet any faith no matter how destitute its form, is surely better than none at all.... So here's to hoping that everyone who dares to hope in a better tomorrow, finds at least some redemption, if not a little more faith into the bargain.

I enjoyed this. Not quite as good as Road to Perdition slow down (it is stunning and just feels like it was always meant to be that speed) but still very relaxing and moving to listen to. Thanks.
