Solo acoustic arrangement of Led Zeppelin's "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You"

- Solo acoustic arrangement of a classic song from Led Zeppelin's debut album. Trimmed an almost 7-min. song down to less than 4-min., but tried to retain all the variations. Couldn't figure out a way to insert any of the fantastic embellishments on a single guitar, so added some noodling at the end.
Martin 000-28
Prototype Mojo soundhole pickup
Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD interface
Reaper DAW and several plug-ins (PhoenixVerb for base reverb, Native Instruments Raum for reverb blooms, etc.)
Full disclosure - the audio and video recordings were done separately. That is, I first recorded the audio and then made the video of myself playing along with that. Yeah, I know - it's cheating...

VERY nice!! Excellent job!! This song takes me back to when I was VERY young. Whenever my parents were out of the house for an extended period, my oldest brother (either when he was alone or with a houseful of partying friends) would have Led Zeppelin I in the mix of records hitting the turntable. My brother sadly lost his life 2 days after Christmas in 2014 to a bullet to his heart, but he lives on every time I hear the music he loved so much.
thanks Ken - very sorry to hear about your brother but glad to know he lives on in your memory via the music
Amazing arrangement! And the different pasta shapes at the end 🤌
Page said this song, NOT Stairway or any other, comes closest in his mind to what Zepp's sound was really all about.
interesting!
I didn't know that Page was such a fan of Joan Baez. The song sounds just like her :)
@@melancohol interesting!
The BEST led Zep song !!
Very tasty performance! I've got to get back to playing this tune with some of those embellishments
The 'slapping' technique you do adds a lot of power to your rendition of this great song!
Awesome! His harmonics create earthquakes
Fantastic cover, beautifully played; that palm tap between 12 and 14 fret it's great it generates a harmonic sound as in the very end. What a classic song. 🎸❤
Thanks!
Outstanding. There’s a lot of subtleties in that song and you got them all. With Feel.
thank you!
Beautifully done.
impressive
Enjoyed this a lot. Bravo
Cool as all Get out Buddy! Thanks for your Courage in bringing this to my Ears!
That was very impressive. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!
I saw Page do this at the Seattle Aqua Theatre in May of 1969... It was spooky what he did. He was still trading between his Tele and Les Paul from song to song, but when he went Les Paul for this song, his embellishments sent chills up my spine. I'll never forget it. I also saw him play Bron-Y-Aur live at the Seattle Colosseum in 1970, and that also was spine tingling. I mention this as you do a wonderful version. His live version that night had him hitting harmonics in a middle section not on the recorded version. Doug Shanahan is the only player I've seen do this part correctly, and maybe the only one to try it that I've seen on UA-cam. My compliments on your playing still stand, of course. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing...genuinely nice. Acoustic is always so clean and refreshing.
Awesome.
I’m so impressed
I really appreciate the "noodling" at the end. you make it your own. Sounds really good! Thank you!
Very nice i am big Zep fan and come out clean....BTW i just bought my first guitar at age 67 a Orangewood.
Very very nice version. Outstanding.
Thx!
Awesome!
Man, you and your Martin so OWN that performance. Both beautiful and exciting!
wow - thx Ron!
Very crisp
Splendid stuff, this person has put in a lot of time to play this.
Very nice arrangement and played really cleanly. Excellent!

Beautifully done!

Excellent
Very nice
Wish I could play like this, while my guitar gently weeps
Had that album burned into my head, this did a reheat.
Bravo !
Good job!
Bang on...
Very nice! Jimmy Page was a huge Bert Jansch fan, who was a noticeable influence on the guitar playing on this track
That was very beautiful chord indeed!!! I am up to explore your channel now sir. seems like you are a real master!
thx so much! I'm definitely not a master - so much to learn and improve - but I'm having fun...
Classe
¡Absolutamente magistraaal!
Very Nice! New sucriber!
you can trade some upstrokes for downstrokes to increase the strumming's intensity
Nice n litely strumed ud be great amped^
That echo ringout though. 😁
wow that's really great, I don't know what you are doing at 2.20 but it sounds really good!
loved the pasta part :D
thx! do you mean the tapped harmonics? I just do a burst of reverb for each of the tapped harmonics (and some fake camera shaking - another attempt at humor...)
Very nice. loved the variation.
thx! hoping to get a few more done soon...
👍👍👍
This was just amazing. So beautifully executed.
I’m curious of your technique to hide the pick though?
It just seems to magically appear when needed.
thx! there's no pick - just fingers - when it looks like I'm using a pick I'm using the nail of my index finger as a pick

Perhaps maybe simply power chords here (with a shuffling E bass note)? I used to do it this way.
Very nice. Only recently looked around for the Anne Bredon original and Joan Baez's version. No offense to those two,but the Zeppelin version is IT.
Thought this the great Heisenberg
Exemplary sir!
Grauselig
You missed 1 note
😂
