      Thanks for suggestion - most likely I will put something together at some point.
      Yes, some of the lures I use are from Ali.

    When I first started tying my hooks for dropshot. I always ended up with a little loop by accident and would cut and tie it again. But I’ll try it with the loop now.

    Hi love your video as new fisherman drop shot is my favourite method, would you still set weight 12-20 cm away from your hook., and any tips for weedy area’s .

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  3 роки тому

      Yes, this distance is the best. At least for me.

    Hi Andrew,
    can you fish dropshot from shore, cast and reel method, like with jighead? That lure is not presented vertically, but more like classic lure fishing.
    Thanks

    Great video. Just learning how to do some drop shotting myself. I’m on my way down to the river tonight to see if I could catch some perch and chub .. Will this method work okay in flowing water then buddy … it’s not fast flowing. Just more of a medium flow if that makes any sense 👍🏽👍🏽😀😀

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  3 роки тому +1

    Thanks for this Andrew. Am I eight in saying that the rig you have just demonstrated, is for casting and retrieving method. The conventional method of a fixed lure would be better for conventional vertical drop shotting?

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  4 роки тому

      Yes, correct. This rig is much better for cast and retrieve (lead still need to be on the bottom most of the time). Having said that, I can't remember when I used fixed dropshot rig as my version still have better hooking properties even when presented vertically. 👍
      Cheers

    Could you use 2 hooks and baits spaced apart so one fishes low and one higher in the water ??

      Mechanics are similar. Just this one more delicate and you can change the distance between the lure and the weight quickly! ✌

    Hello from france I use gamakatsu jig 90 hook to keep perfect straight presentation on any condition . During those last 20 fishing session I now only drop and leave the classe steady retrieve cast is boring I never get any session out of fish so my technique drop is effective and confirmed ! I like improved my level I always go with two rod from bank one medium lenght (235) one long lenght (270cms) to keep CONTROL long distance on the long distance rod I ll test this loop free move for hook and will give you feedback I go 3 times fishing per week this is my business I m owner and designer lure production so it will be compared VS my own setup drop shot with gamakatsu I ll give you feedback this week thanks for this share

      @@AndrewsKnots i come back fishing here is my
      Report . I test no more 5 minutes Cause it show a presentation twisted the soft bait with free movement on loop make some spin on it self the presentation is not clean I find I préfère straight presentation with gamakatsu jig 90 or knot special drop (not Palomar) thanks you for this tips but I préfère my straight and clean presentation your channel is very interesting

      Thanks for the info ✌
      I will continue using this method as it's much batter in my eyes. Unless I will be only presenting my lure vertically then fixed hook is better.
      Cheers

    No no no this is not a drop shot in my own opinion if I were to tie a drop shot like this I would snag everything so I'll take my normal 12 to 18 inches of room between weight and bait cause that's a way better distance for optimal middle water column area

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  3 роки тому +1

      In my experience 20 cm. is the best way to go/start with. Never did any good with lure being far away from the bottom. ✌
