Hey everybody! UPDATE: The Giveaway is officially closed! It was a HUGE HIT! To the 20 people who got their spinners -- let us know how they worked out for ya!
I have been fishing for 25 years of my life and I use the Carolina rig for Black Crappie, Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Flathead Catfish, and Brown Trout here on the Mississippi River in Iowa. It's a very versatile rig and can catch multiple species unfortunately most people don't realize that you can catch more than just Bass on the Carolina rig.
Love all you videos they are very helpful. FYI I found you site when looking for float and fly. Can’t wait for more videos and appreciate all your efforts. Mark
Top strike!! Love your videos! I love watching the tutorial for all the drop shot videos, they’ve helped me learn a lot with dropshot, and also all of the baits that you can use for trout! Anyways, thanks!
I use this in Black Hills lakes, and it destroys the rainbows there. I typically float a fish egg with a super light #8 hook. He's right about gut hooking them, they tend to suck it all the way down. The rules are you can only keep one fish larger than 15"....some days I can't catch anything smaller, so I have to cut it off, and let them have my nice egg hooks. Trout can be really smooth when they strike, so this gives them some room to eat it, by the time I feel the line go, they're totally hooked. It's a great rig, I started trying it withing 5 years ago, and it's become one of my go to's for getting keepers.
Her Fergotti! Just wanted to let ya know -- I ended up having to re-upload the video you commented on (side planer vid). It had 30 minutes of silence at the end and it was just easier that way. So your comment is gone if you want to replace it! Thanks dude for the support hope you're keeping those lines tight!
I’ll also add on your leader length if your fishing a river or a lake with current it may be best to add more than what you said . When I drift a stick bait for trout I need at least 2.5 to 3 ft leader to put it in the strike zone for trout .
I found your channel when searching for info about drop shotting, And I think I’ve been subscribed ever since! Love the content, and really looking forward to seeing what you have to say in this video too!
@@vereabsolutum9131 it says in the video! eparkfishing@gmail.com . Top Strike is being pretty awesome about it so I might still be able to hook you up (no pun intended)!
I'm glad you mentioned that this setup isn't good for catch and release. To me, using a tri-hook is too hard to remove and causes too much damage to the small fry.
Haha! I think that's an option to download the actual video if you have UA-cam premium. But I do plan on releasing some music at some point this year! 👌
Good day i am your avid fan in trout fishing, i have a hard time catching them, i usually comes home empty, my bait frozen minnows, live worm, sometimes dough bait or artificial eggs. i fished at the lake from the banks. im from Manitoba Canada, can you teach the best method to catch trout, the set up of hooks and the best time of day to go fishing. thank you and more power
Thanks for the comment! I would recommend a #8 ir #10 baitholder hook with 1/3 of a night crawler. Either use a drop shot, or some split shot and use a light line. 4lb or even 2lb line for your leader. There are a lot of lures and bait to use, but location is the most important. Look for inlets, outlets and dams on the lake. Look for shade on a hot day. Also look for fish activity (jumping or swirls) and try to be stealthy. Tight lines my friend!
Top strike! Love the content! I've been doing this for lake and rainbow trout! I use salmon roe bags with small floating styrofoam to keep it off the bottom and let the current move it around
Why so much worms? You literally need just half a nightcrawler. Also it helps to float worms above the bottom with air injection or a small marshmallow

Ive had luck doing a Texas Rig and floating bait. Definitely more likely to gut hook with these setups though.

Caught a little bass on a carolina rig today. Wasn't my intended target but it was a catch nonetheless

I have tons of success with round blade spinners in case bait does not work

I catch and release so I’ve never used a Carolina rig or a drop shot for that matter. Why would a drop shot be better for catch and release trout?
where i live this is called the running sinker rig
topstrike subcribed.
It’s amazing how many fish are fighting for the shrimp and the worms.
Got any of those spinners left lol?
happen to come acrosss your site, it's interesting and attract my attention. Subscribed.
YOOOOO

Not to be mean to my dad though😊
