This idea was stolen from an old superman comic. An evil scientist invented a robot that was more powerful than superman but he had to transfer his consciousness into the robot to control it. After he fights off superman he goes back to his girlfriend only to realize he can't feel touch as a robot. He realizes his plan was folly and snaps before activating the robot's self destruct sequence.
LaszloPanaflex what’s the distinction you see. Passed away is just a euphemism for died. We don’t use it in any other context either so it really only refers to death.
I don't get it either. Having him talk would help explain him suddenly lashing out on the girl and killing her. EDIT 6/5/2020: Years ago, I did find concept art for RoboCain's face/HUD. There were storyboards where text would display on the screen around his face, like "HEY THERE, SEXY" during the flirting moment and "DIE, BITCH" when he gets angry.
***** Left him to die, how? Forgive me for I have not seen the movie, but I've seen many scenes of RC 1 and 2. If I recall, prior to Cain's "death", it was due to him charging at RoboCop with a truck and the latter attacked him by jumping through the windshield off the motorbike he was riding on.
***** If u had actually watched the whole movie, just after Cain was taken to hospital, there's a scene where Angie and Hobb argue over rescuing Cain. Angie wants to bust him out but Hobb says 'Fuck him' And apparently, they were going to have RoboCain speak but they ran out of time and were over budget to animate this.
***** As I've said, I never seen the movie. Only some of the scenes like the Cain fight and death scene as well as some of RoboCop's weird programming when he was rebuilt after being dismantled by Cain's gang. Now I guess I see why Cain wanted to kill him, though people still theorise why he got pissed and wanted him dead since he never spoke a word.
this scene is terrifying. and I like that he doesn't speak. perhaps he's just bewildered....imagine the nightmare of waking up in such a state. all your usual senses, emotions, etc gone...can't even speak just growl
they should at least given him an electronic voice generator like the one Steve Hawkins uses, it might not be the sexiest voice, but it's still better than having a dialect humans used several million years ago
Earlier in the film when he "wakes up" as the machine, he doesn't really show any sign of remembering about his past except for the desire of that drug he helped manufacture.
Everyone wonders why Cain snapped; This incident would make much more sense if you saw the prelude scene to it, where Cain is partially disassembled in a (OCP) lab, and Dr. Fax recognizes that he's in a lot of "pain" from drug withdrawal. She then waves a canister of nuke in front of him and tells him he has to carry this incident out (kill the mayor) to receive the canister of nuke first. In other words, he snapped because he was in the midst of a chaotic nuke withdrawal when this happened. They wanted to capture the unpredictable nature of a psychopathic drug addict with Cain, especially if he was irritable and needed his fix. He sensed that she was being insincere, yes, but the fact that he was withdrawing from nuke took his reaction to the edge.
Interesting, I never really thought of that. I always believed that Cain felt betrayed. They escaped, he didn't, and now they are trying to usurp his throne so to speak. Cain doesn't tolerate disloyalty, remember what happened to Duffy.
Yup. You are 100% correct. Technically OCP was the real villain and Cain was their puppet. Also he knew that she and Hob left him to die in the hospital, and after she told him that his new condition will be great, it was all needed to set him off.
I always figured he killed her because he could see she was obviously lying to him and there was no way it was ever "gonna be great", he's a robot now in a big scary body that can't even feel a thing (to say nothing of lacking genitals) so whatever he was thinking when he saw her it probably all hits home when she makes him actually consider it.
I doubt that and idk why people thumbs up what you think O.o because she obviously wanted to help him, but thought he was dead especially since fucking what Hob says goes. She recognized him during this little reunion and I feel she does mean her word that it will be great. You saw how dedicated she was to him when he was human especially in despair that they couldn't help. Even her body language was convincing in this like she became aroused by the sound of her voice as she touched his mechanical hand. She accepts him the way he is. Also, what is up with majority of the comments of people saying cuz he has no dick? Well, was there a sex scene or lovey lovey shit between them when he was human? No. So wtf does it matter that he has no dick? I would think he prefers Nuke and his new capabilities than not having a dick. He still has his human brain he obviously remembered her, but then the other side of him is following what he is ordered to do. Then again I do believe Cain would Choose Nuke over her.
I was scared shitless in this scene..a machine gunning you down in the dark, and then a grey face appeared on screen making demonic noises..damn man. I was forever scared
Same here. This was one of the most terrifying scenes in the entire film. It just goes to show that we have the ability to create deadly killing machines like that.
He snapped and killed her because she coyly said, "Ooh It will take some getting used to," and he was thinking like bitch don't remind me that I can't get laid. You're dead!
but nope, he bacame mad right after she said "It would be great, Caine". And then he snapped and killed her. So the first her sentence musted be OK to him.
I knew even as a little kid when she was rubbing his ... grappler the way she did it was meant to be something else. And everyone knew he couldn't feel anything from it . His frustration after enjoying the visual was completely creepy a man in a tin box unable to feel any sensation hot cold , the caress of a former lover.
I remember in the early 90s, my dad got a bootlegged copy of Robocop 2, but as 12-year olds we obviously forbidden to watch it. My dad kept it hidden on the top shelf of his cupboard in his bedroom. One day, I snuck into his room, found the VHS, and watched it on my own. Let's just say I wish I hadn't! RoboCain's robotic face and that noise he makes would give me endless sleepless nights. Every weekend we'd walk to the nearest city center, and we'd always go past an old factory which looked pretty much like this one from this clip, and I'd end up walk faster, not even giving it a second glance because I thought RoboCain was inside waiting. Also, the scene where they slice the top of his head open to get his brain out would constantly make me nauseous, and watching Robocop get owned by Cain's gang didn't help either. Jeez, I learnt my lesson pretty hard that day...
My parents didn't restrict our intake of any media, even as young children. Their philosophy was "Might as well get them used to stuff young." I can't help but disagree with them now. Being born in 2000 and having my older brother's VHS and DVD collection of horror and action films was very fun sometimes, but I remember getting dead scared over RoboCain and the guy who basically melts in the first movie. I couldn't watch most horror movies or play horror games until I was probably 15 because I would psych myself out. I remember buying Dead Space at the bargain bin for like $10 when I was 12 on a Saturday morning, and then begging my mom to return it before dinner because the game freaked me out so much.
He killed her for leaving in the hospital to die!plus taking his nuke stash and money! The memory doesn't leave, plot of the human-robot transfer! All Robocop movies stuck to it!
Maybe Cain was pretending to feel gentle to the woman all along. He first acted as if he knew nothing of her betrayal, and only moments later he revealed why he actually came to her.
That's another interesting theory. Playing ignorance to make the "deceiving traitor" think she's still got you on her ropes, then rob her of that feeling at the last second before killing her. Yeah, I can totally imagime a psychopath coming up with that plan. It's just too bad she was not actually a traitor, though. She wanted to save him ftom the hospital. The other guy is the one who said "Fuck him".
I can't help but feel sorry for Cain in this movie. No one deserves to lose their humanity like that. I literally wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy; and that's not an exaggeration. It's one of the worst ways I can think of that you can possibly go.
I think Cain's rage is in multiple layers. 1. Angry because the kid and his chick didn't bust him out of the hospital in a earlier scene. 2. Because of that, ocp robbed him of his body and put his brain into a machine. Incapable of feeling anything ever again. 3. Did everybody who saw this movie forget he is addicted to Nuke? They ONLY thing that matters now IS the drug. That's why he killed his girlfriend and the kid. BTW. The 2014 RoboCop film dealt with the Not Feeling Anything anymore problem by keeping Murphy's right hand. Unlike the first film when they said to lose his right arm.
I remember watching this movie as a kid, and Caine was just one of those movie characters, at least in this form, that you'd have nightmares about. Frigging scary!
Well, she betrayed him together with the kid you see in the video. And her remarks only reminded him he is no longer human, but a machine. A machine built for killing.
He is every bit just as deadly as Ed-209 and even worse cuz he KNOWS how humans think... I think we could shure use a big, towering, killer robot like him patrolling our drug and crime infested streets right now!
Man this whole movie was terrifying in general but even more so when you think about it a little. Dude was separated from his BODY and in that tube thing. Then put into a robot and couldn't talk. It's like "The Dutchess" storyline from SWTOR or basically all of Warhammer as I understand it. So so creepy!
This scene used to seriously scare me as a kid. so did the part where the kid gets killed! I never thought a kid could get killed in such a brutal way!
Those snapping sounds haunted me since I was little. They are truly disgusting. I always pictured him doing more than snapping her neck, I imagine he broke a lot of bones before dropping her.
Damn, Galyn (who played Angie, the girl in this video) was so damn pretty. I was secretly hoping for a redemption arc for her. Man, did I have a crush on her back in the day.
In the new game Rogue City, OCP Chairman "Old Man" volunteers to "Afterlife" project, who gaves him a recycled Robocop 2 body. Wondering if he will keep his humanity as a machine, he also sees himself in a rampage, realizing that those days as a human just won't come back.
After watching the Terminator when I was 2 years old, this movie never really phased me, sure I'd have nightmares for a night but I remember daring myself to rewatch the Terminator. That movie would give me nightmares in 2 week stints. Awesome stuff all the way around though. Gotta love the rotary noises of Caine twisting and crushing her face.
Terminator always gave me nightmares. This movie has amazing sound effects. I love the chur chur pop and crunch sounds as he discombobulates her head from her neck and shoulders.
@@nickyeayea7257my niece just turned 3 feb 8th and months before that and now she always begs me to turn the terminator 1 movie on 💯 so i can believe him
I always thought the part at 2:12 was hilarious! Perfectly capture the moment when you see a spider in the bathtub and you're just like, NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO
This scene and Robo-Caine in general terrified me as a teenager. For a long time I remembered this scene the way that he skinned the girl and killed her that way, I don't know why I remembered it this way. Anyway, it is still unnerving and the CGI of Caine's face on the screen is still creepy as hell.
Anyone find it, I dunno, odd how Cain's CGI face lacks the facial hair his human form had? But I guess computer programming has its limits or the programmers simply gave him a generic bald head.
Some people here are asking why he killed her, and the Hob, it's because when robocop was going after Cain, they didn't help Cain when he got captured, she even said to Hob that Cain is going to kill both of them.
I still love this movie. "Hey lets take a psychotic addicted drug lord and use his brain to make behemoth law enforcement machine. What could go wrong?"
This scene always scared me and made me feel sad because she still loved him even when he became a killing machine seeing they been together along time human or not she still felt compassion for him regardless that is why my friends this scene is so morbidly heartbreaking😫😭😖.
Someone of his personality would have been overly unstable knowing he's all machine now. I mean look at how he set off a grenade in the first one. Seems to favore the flesh a lot
what always got me was when people were like "why did he snap" and to me its always been that she feared him and it took him a while to realize it but when he finally realized it he didnt know how to handle it and just went nuts
Old but GOLD... No matter how advanced modern CGI or visual FX are like nowadays, you just CANNOT recreate that same creepy effect anymore. People nowadays just don't perceive these effects the same way as some of us did back in the 90's.
Keep in mind that he was already a psychopathic junkie before they turned him into a robot. If you add that to the fact that he has lost almost all of his senses, including touch, and that his mentality is now much more primitive and affected by that drug; You have the reason why he break her neck to hear those words.
Many ask why Robocain can't talk. My theory is that since he basically was killed by a doctor/scientist, ripped open and basically is now a brain in a machine. They most likely did it to avoid Cain talking. As insane as he was, he still was sapient.
Yeargh, they prolly didn't want him to be REASONED with... They feared that if he could talk, and the right kinda people were able to convince him somehow, he might even turn against his creators at OCP.
Robocain is the most underrated Robocop villain ever made considering that he's quite savage and vicious for a giant android that contains the brain of a ruthless crime boss. Add to the fact that he crushed his female minion's face with his robotic claw hand without any second thought makes him even more iconic and unforgettable
I'd think the first time he snapped her neck she died basically instantly. If you watch it at half speed or so you can see he grabs her head and then twists his "claw" to one direction to snap her neck before the camera cuts and its just the sound. He just kept "twisting" and breaking after she was dead out of rage.
I will never understand why dream works decided to use this image for the shrek movie magic mirror...

He's the man in the magic mirror.
He probably snapped because he couldn't feel her hand. Realizing he'll never enjoy touch again.
*enjoy sex
He snapped because she was a bitch that never came to help him. and she flaunts her sexuality, which of course will never work. she had death coming.
he most likely was suffering from withdrawl and wanted his precious nuke, her advences just pushed him over the edge.
I thought that from the very first time I saw the film.

"you look great." nuke, not even once.
It almost sounds like robocain is eating her. Cyborg cannibal style.
Those snapping sounds haunted me since I was little. They are truly disgusting. I always pictured him doing more than snapping her neck, I imagine he broke a lot of bones before dropping her.
He at least snapped her spine in 5 pieces alone
I saw this in the theater when I was 11 and when he cringed his face I almost shit myself 😆😖🤯
Talk about a twist of fate
+ThePatient4o3 BAD pun!!!
yes twisted sense of humor
Twist of Cain. 😜
Don't u mean twist of face
Back when this movie first came out, I thought Max Headroom was gonna come out.
Welp, Now I'm Gonna Have Nightmares For Life... Thanks Robocop 2!
Damn, Galyn (who played Angie, the girl in this video) was so damn pretty. I was secretly hoping for a redemption arc for her. Man, did I have a crush on her back in the day.
31 year old here and it still scares the fuck out of me. The sound effects, the way they made him walk, everything is so scary
This scene scared the shit out of me back in 1993.
Early days of cgi with stop motion. This was amazing when it came out.
1990. And better facial animations than Mass Defect: Andromeda.
2 years old. Right
@@nickyeayea7257 🤣🤣🤣🤣 couldnt stop laughing. May be he was a baby terminator.
Cain snaps... necks.Oké, I'll leave myself out.
his face is computerised as 3d face in his display. he looks scary when he screams.
This was a damn good sequel to a classic...
This scene and Robo-Caine in general terrified me as a teenager. For a long time I remembered this scene the way that he skinned the girl and killed her that way, I don't know why I remembered it this way. Anyway, it is still unnerving and the CGI of Caine's face on the screen is still creepy as hell.
not going to lie, when I was younger Caines cgi head scared the shit out of me...hell it still looks disturbing as fuck
When I was a kid, I was also scared. Even today, this scene is so dark, and the music... still gives me the creeps. :)
I thought he was gonna sing "In the air tonight"
Anyone find it, I dunno, odd how Cain's CGI face lacks the facial hair his human form had? But I guess computer programming has its limits or the programmers simply gave him a generic bald head.
keep in mind, CG back in the late 80s and 90s was new and had limits unlike today's standards.
I know.
But for 1991's Terminator 2, it looked rather close to today's modern CGI.
+Sergeant Sunflower T2 had a incredibly large budget, i don't even think RoboCop was in the cinema in the UK. We always classed them as B movies
But I prefer it like that, because is creepy to think you could be trapped inside a machine and that is the only way to could interact with others.
Yeah, but it makes it even more uncomfortable to look at: It's him, but not really, just.....a machine.
I think he snapped simply because he can’t feel anything.
Because let’s be honest, that’s not an arm for him. :B
This terrified me as a kid.
This thing scares the shit it out of me
She’s terrified and she says the wrong thing...
This movie is so scary, it should labeled as a "sci fi horror" and not as a cyberpunk super hero movie.
I agree. Same thing with The Terminator (1984). Both are scary as hell!
Maybe it’s my imagination, but after Angie says “You look great.” The robotic sounds Cain makes do vaguely sound like he’s saying “Thankyou.”
I think I heard the same thing too...
1990s CGI human faces always were creepy as hell.
The biggest difference between Robocop and RoboCain, is that Robocop would NEVER kill his friends...
2:12
bill cosby face hahahahaha
Hahahahaha indeed!!!! 😂😂
He's mad cause he couldn't get that pudding! 😉
Movie studios now don't have the brains and balls required to put out movies like this
2:08 I knew it would happen. Cain is no more. He became a killer robot
This traumatized me as a kid.
This scene always scared me and made me feel sad because she still loved him even when he became a killing machine seeing they been together along time human or not she still felt compassion for him regardless that is why my friends this scene is so morbidly heartbreaking😫😭😖.
I still find this scene very terrifying.
So with Hob
remember this factory scene so clearly. i was totaly scared. 10years old
Someone of his personality would have been overly unstable knowing he's all machine now. I mean look at how he set off a grenade in the first one. Seems to favore the flesh a lot
That's exactly what OCP wanted tho... An outta-control, mentally unstable, ruthless killer maniac who was also heavily addicted to drugs! 😁
what always got me was when people were like "why did he snap" and to me its always been that she feared him and it took him a while to realize it but when he finally realized it he didnt know how to handle it and just went nuts
Even as far as old cgi goes, that face is fucking terrifying
Old but GOLD... No matter how advanced modern CGI or visual FX are like nowadays, you just CANNOT recreate that same creepy effect anymore. People nowadays just don't perceive these effects the same way as some of us did back in the 90's.
Keep in mind that he was already a psychopathic junkie before they turned him into a robot. If you add that to the fact that he has lost almost all of his senses, including touch, and that his mentality is now much more primitive and affected by that drug; You have the reason why he break her neck to hear those words.
She cheated on him on an deleted scene

What scene?
Manny Phoenix voyogogovooobovovovovovvy good hovoboohvob we y
@@TheOfficialHelloKittyPowa This scene does exist and it's creepier than you think, but no small animals were harmed in the making of it, thank God.
When your ex girlfriend breaks your heart but later tries to come back.
lol
This scared the crap out of me.
This scene inside the dark warehouse is my favorite.
Cain's face looks like a N64 character. Ahhh, the good old days.
RareNoiseUploads 😂😂 Mario 64 i suppose
At least the floating Mario head didn't look terrifying.
Kane - *snaps*
Girl - "I don't feel so good..."
Looks like the magic mirror in Shrek 🤣
