Other than just the joy of crafting something beautiful, is there an advantage to artificial bait over actual bugs? I’ve never fished before and know nothing about it!
I noticed that in some videos you use Chartpak markers and in other videos you use Copic markers. Is that about color availability, tip design needed for the fly, some other functional reason, or just you trying to mix it up?
There are varying factors. In this case, the Chartpak markers don't blend as well as the Copic (but they definitely are more permanent). Copic also offers a color blender, which can be useful. Another factor is the fine tip on the Copic.
@@SolarSystem_sUser I've been fishing artificial bait (flies), exclusively, the world over for many different species for almost 45 years and have landed 1000s and thousands of fish 🐟 🤭

I'm no fish but it looks yummy.
Thank you
This is exactly what fish would say!
I'm learning that I will literally watch absolutely anything
Somehow, the algorithm brought me here from ammo reloading tutorials and 40k lore videos. Like and subbed, very cool.
I cant explain the algos, but thank you
@@flytyingzonedavehise you are very welcome, that was fascinating.
If I were a fish, i would never miss that juicy larva😊
🙌 🙌 🙌
I remember being blown away years ago by this artform I never knew existed. It's nuts to see that people just create actual insects now 😂
😂😂
It‘s not a real insect. If you watch the video closely the worm hasn‘t moved at all.
@@shekhinah5985 well that is becouse its on a hook, if you unhook it im sure it will start moving😊😂
Man. You are super talented. Thank you for showing us your fine work, and attention to detail!
Thank you for your kind words. CHEERS!
Really love this fly going to give it a go once I have the stuff. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks just like a grub. Heck, I'd eat it. That's how the aliens will get us.

I'm no fish, but I'd have ate that 14 steps ago
It's all about taking it to the next step.
Wow ! I almost wanna eat it, almost

Remarkable skills!
Thank you 🤜 🤛

Maybe sometimes... but fooling the fish with something you created is actually better than creating it (in my opinion).
Sick!!! I MUST do this one day!!! Fishing is life but never been fly fishing and have ALWAYS wanted to make fly fishing lures!
You can do it!
Gorgeous
Thank you!
All that and the first cast gets caught in a tree 😁
Cast it where there aren't 🌳 🌲 🌴
You did an awesome job creating that, I was just messing around 👍 your talented 🤛
@keckerson6396 thank you. I was messing, too 😂😂
I'd try it but I'm all out of nymph skin.

I have over 100 markers from 4 different manufacturers 🤣😂🤣😂
I assume that copic won't wash out in the water?
Depends. That's part of the reason I coat it with uv resin.
@crimsondragon1794 The Chartpak Markers are more permanent. They are xylene based instead of alcohol based, like Copic.
@@flytyingzonedavehise good too know rhanks ^.÷.^, I'm looking to learn how too fly fish and make my own flies
Nice
That is so amazing can i purchase some???

Fish don't bite well on artificial bait. Although it is also an option for areas with very hungry fish.
