I love how thought provoking the discussions are specially the somewhat "double standards" on how people view racism. I've been loving your podcast as you discuss topics that does not get touch on the main channel.
This is a wonderful podcast. I always love to learn more about Scarra since he’s been there in OTV from its inception, while I only became a fan much later.
To be honest Scarra has a fair point considering invites. For example I thought several times and was a bit sad that Scarra wasn't interested in a lot of games the "group" was playing and only appeared occasionaly, which I considered as mandatory playtime for him being part of the "org". Glad to hear that he actually would like to join some more of those games / sessions and hopefully we see him more often in the future. He's a great addition towards very hyper active personalities and together with Toast the person who makes me laugh the most out of all from OTV. (since I got dry humor)
Honestly the problem with goats in Overwatch was that there was no way to balance it except deleting Brigitta or reworking her from ground up. And because they obviously didn’t want to delete a character they made they ended up limiting everybody.
As someone who played the game for 3 years and worked to get from season one silver to a high grandmaster in the game it was really sad to see basically one character kill the game.
to be honest i like hearing scarra's logic and takes a lot because of how much more objective he is able to be, i am very similar in a way where i can be inept in understanding and treating other's emotions, my friend's tell me im good at understanding context and situations and give advice to them with the context but i suffer at trying to just comfort them and listening to them
although the numbers don’t reflect this: I think this was the best podcast episode yet. the last 10-15 minutes where scarra was opening up about his content/numbers was such a candid and deep conversation between two really good friends. Hope there are more conversations like these to come in the future podcasts.
Enjoying this conversation. It hit me when Scarra talked about how he doesn't feel responsible to speak up for all Asians and how he needs to do research before talking about an issue. As an aboriginal, I have never felt like it was my responsibility to get on board with all aboriginal issues. I'm an individual, not a demographic. Some pretend that someone saying "I wasn't offended" invalidates their feelings on the matter. But if their solution is to invalidate that person's feelings on the matter and shut down the expression of that person's opinions, then the hypocrites can go f themselves. "Speak for yourself (and I'll speak for myself)" is what goes through my mind. I don't represent the demographic, and the demographic doesn't represent me. I kind of got sidetracked, but Scarra's viewpoint resonated with me. I agree with his belief that there's no responsibility on the part of the streamer to keep people from freely spending their own money.
Scarra it's maybe the "less popular"(in gen z terms) in otv, but he is important core of the org, i see otv disbanding (as an org, not the friendgroup) more likely than he leaving, or stop being part of the otv proyect
I always get a little starstruck when Scarra is featured in a video. I feel like he doesn’t get the spotlight a lot, so I always get super excited when he’s given the space to talk a lot or be featured 😍
I feel like Scarra has so much untapped depth... but I also feel like he himself is slowly dropping into more of a ...boss role? like an agent maybe or someone who would be the owner of a corporation of streamers than the streamer.
It's a similar dynamic when you see that former A-list Hollywood actors step back from starring roles and want to get into directing or producing feature films instead.
Absolutely no one should feel hated just because of their appearance. Scarra doesn’t deserve that at all. When you tell someone they’re overweight or you insult them because of a physical appearance, do you really think that person is not already aware of that????? We are our own worse critiques. He hears that shit every day from himself probably. Clearly it weighs on him, as he said. So stop fucking talking to him about it. It isn’t caring, it isn’t helpful, and it isn’t kind. He will “remedy” it in his own time.
You know what was really good about this episode in particular? It was the forthrightness and honesty in the questions and answers. Toast asked some pretty frank questions and together Scarra and Toast gave some pretty frank and honest answers. The part about having a sliding scale of money vs. belief when doing a product endorsement, many people would shy away from this question and give some sugar coated answer but this was real. Same goes to Scarra talking about what happens if someone in OTV starts to become less popular - that was a painful topic to talk about but Scarra and Toast handled it like champs, breaking down the battle between being friends and being colleagues. Really makes you think, streamers make a lot of money but it's a dog-eat-dog world out there and so it's hard to maintain lasting friendships when friendships can be governed by viewer counts. I hope you guys both do well and can set a positive example for other streamers out there. Good luck guys.
49:30 -52:10 Logic has mentioned something similar, him being half white and half black, he grew up using the n word because of his environment and of course part of his family, but as an adult and a public figure, he knows how/when to use and not use the word because he knows the way he looks, like Brodin, he just looks like a white guy, but he also a black man. He knows he can't just go throwing the word around like other black people, he knows to only use it when it is appropriate and when he's around the right people.
It is a good and bad thing that the top female streamers get more, cause on one hand a safe environment gets created and the benefits look good for advertising gaming to women, but then the women who then actually try gaming, the very bottom who they all forget about, get treated like SHIT; hence leave, hence less women in gaming. I think the industry needs to balance it out more
this ep felt like i was at a dinner with two uncles and just listening to them talk about life and things i don't really understand LOL but i'm here for it
Scarra will probably never see this but when I heard that scarra was doing keto I really got motivated to also do keto and I want to thank him for that. In the end keto wasn't the right diet for me but it was the first time that I really got motivated to even try doing a diet. Keto actually lead me to have bad cholesterol bad that lead me to another diet that works really great on me.
@pigjedi yeah but there are certain foods that highly increase your desire for sweets while there are other foods (like vegetables) that actually reduce your desire for sweets. I lost 30kg without exercising at all, just eating the right things.

Finally Scarra, I been waiting for him to talk about all that shit that today I don't know ...how the people taking advantage of people haven't been sued
1:00:40 What scarra said is correct, he is a easy target for people to shittalk into tell me, why take your chances trying to shittalk other shittalkers were they would easy make a good burn and then you are the joke of the day when you can just shittalk the guy that never does anything Thats why my tip against any bully is so keep fighting, fight and fight even if the odds are 1/99 once the bully realizes you are simply gonna get back up from the floor again and again they will stop trying because it really only takes 1win from your side to completely obliterate their ego. Fight and get back up again, and when you can't anymore, do it again and again untill the end
They're hosting all the OTV members one by one and Scarra was the only one left. The rrmaining would be OTV friends from now on. Unless Toast somehow manages to interview himself.
Scarra really needs to make an actual long term content strategy and stick to it. His youtube is all over the place in terms of video themes: league, vtube, tft, variety, q&a.
I think its really important that Scarra brought up his struggle feeling left out and falling behind inside his friend group. I'm sure a lot of other streamers feel this way and its good to be open about this.
Personally I have never watched a scarra stream, I fell in love with his personality through OTV he is just an all round awesome guy who we all love to see and hear from! I hope once he retires from streaming he carries on being the big mafia Papi of the group guiding all the younglings 😁
Scarra's got solid convictions and I respect that, but I think he and Toast both miss something important when it comes to discussing race issues and jokes: they have huge audiences that are, unfortunately, oftentimes impressionable. That's why they're under so much scrutiny, because if they regularly say "edgy" things, even if they know it's a joke, someone might think they're serious and just run with it. And with Brodin: I'm the same way, I'm half Asian but look fairly white. When an impressionable person sees a white-looking person making racially-charged jokes, that's all they see and they think that's okay. It sucks that it's the case but that's unfortunately the world we live in. Do they have an obligation to talk about political issues? I think they have a responsibility to make sure they're not peddling misinformation and, I guess, being aware? I don't know. Like, clearly none of them are qualified educators, and people shouldn't go to them for guidance. But they do have a lot of influence and if they can use it to make the world a better place, maybe there's value in doing it. That said, idiot Twitter mobs make it so hard to have this conversation because they just create a caricature of the "cancel mob" that's all anyone sees and it just makes everything worse. That makes me so mad. I'm with them on that point lol.
I would love to have BRODIN on the podcast to elaborate more about being half white-half chinese! I have the exact same background and it's so complex figuring out what you can identify with having that asian culture in your family, but presenting more as caucasian.
I was introduced to OTV via Toast and I've always enjoyed the content, I have my favourites winning OTV but I've never really watched Scarra as I've always had a wealth of streamers to watch, I'm more of a UA-cam person over Twitch - but saying this, I really enjoyed getting to know Scarra more, he's an intelligent man with interesting perspectives.
I feel like the whole Asian tv and them minimizing it and then comparing it to black tv or Mexican tv is prob because black and Mexican issues are more in the front or more “important” but I feel like comparing different minorities racist experiences is just a bad idea overall cause any racist thing with racist intention shouldn’t happen at all
Scarra’s reasons for not keeping up on content/health stuff hit home so hard for me. “Im great with innovation and struggle with maintenance” Maintenance is the hardest part. We all assume the hardest step to take with anything is the first step but it’s not, it’s the next step. Taking the next step and the next, not knowing what the result will be & not depending on a final product, is the only way to keep up with motivation. You have to be grateful for the process without banking on the result. I’ve lost 50lbs this year (the most I’ve ever lost) and streamed more times this year than I have in the previous 4 years combined using this mentality. It’s not perfect, and sometimes I plateau or don’t get viewers or whatever (the results I want), but I will feel successful enough that I streamed more times than ever, and how far I’ve come with my health. The fact that I can sit in seats that have arms on the sides without being afraid I won’t fit right is worth a million starts and stops now. The fact that I’m enjoying streaming when I do it means more than the amount of viewers or anything else. Take the next step is all I can say. We’re here with you! Don’t worry about what your audience expects, (easier said than done of course) if you start pinning your progress and expectations on someone else it gets 100x harder. Just do your thing & I know you’ll be ok. Appreciated this so much!!
This fucking hit hard, i personally follow scarra and part of his handful youtube viewers. Honestly, scarra is great, suits what i seek for when i need a break from the normal otv members vid. I think its because of his maturity that i am an avid scarra viewer. Idk, i just like scarra.
So I knew toast got better looking I have been able to tell like everyone else. But i think it took the flashback where they showed toast on the old podcast for me to realize how much better he looks right now.
For most normal products, I think "social responsibility" for creators is very limited, but we have definitely seen more extreme examples in recent times, like creators who will promote alternative Covid cures for personal gain or promote cryptos that they are trying to boost the price of. In situations like those I think it's very hard to say that creators don't have a social responsibility to not lie to people when life and death or life changing amounts of money are at hand. It could definitely be argued that for the crypto example people can choose how much to invest and I can see that argument and maybe in that case it just makes a creator a shitty person for scamming people and not breaking some imaginary "social responsibility", but with the Covid stuff it seems pretty clear cut to me.
To Scarra’s point about friends reaching out or not looking back.. personally I think it’s part of some Introverts’ nature to not exactly think about the friends they don’t see on a day to day. Out of sight, out of mind in a sense. Not because they don’t want to, they just don’t naturally think about every single person in their life. But when they do, it’s like no time has passed and reconnection is very easy
yo toast, you should run your friend group on a social credit system, they do an oopsie and there toast credit score goes down. say they come to you later, you can just be like "sorry your social credit is too low, cant let you into this next thing" boom problem solved

It actually just comes naturally with people and gaming is how us gamers cope with it.
I love how thought provoking the discussions are specially the somewhat "double standards" on how people view racism.
I've been loving your podcast as you discuss topics that does not get touch on the main channel.
This is a wonderful podcast. I always love to learn more about Scarra since he’s been there in OTV from its inception, while I only became a fan much later.
every single one of the reboot episodes have been amazing, Toast is a great host and the other members get to talk so much more
To be honest Scarra has a fair point considering invites.
She's so strong they had to make Overwatch 2 just to rework her, lol.
to be honest i like hearing scarra's logic and takes a lot because of how much more objective he is able to be, i am very similar in a way where i can be inept in understanding and treating other's emotions, my friend's tell me im good at understanding context and situations and give advice to them with the context but i suffer at trying to just comfort them and listening to them
Get Hafu on the podcast :) Big brains discussions
otv podcast is like crack to me, waiting a whole week for another one is painful
I think the stereotypical Asian they're talking about doing food videos is Uncle Roger
although the numbers don’t reflect this: I think this was the best podcast episode yet. the last 10-15 minutes where scarra was opening up about his content/numbers was such a candid and deep conversation between two really good friends. Hope there are more conversations like these to come in the future podcasts.
Love hearing intelligent people put their thoughts into words effectively, something I ALWAYS struggle with
I'm glad Scarra gets recognized a lot in Vegas! I feel like he's so underappreciated compared to other OTV members
Honestly yall, as a white man from Texas, I forgot OTV was majority asian people. Idunno. I just see yall as people
Which is the best way 💙
the podcast gets longer and longer, they're treating us fr
Scarra is so sweet 🥺 his motivation to find new games based on his friends warms my heart so much ahhh he's the best
I enjoyed this quite a bit, because I was not really aware of Scarra's past experiences.
Imagine if Scarra ends up leavinng otv one day. I'll be crying for sure ;(
i dont think hes leaving anytime soon. He might leave the house but not the actual group
True 🥺... but realistically isn't he the closest thing to the "owner" of otv? (Since he created it) So is very unlikely.
Scarra it's maybe the "less popular"(in gen z terms) in otv, but he is important core of the org, i see otv disbanding (as an org, not the friendgroup) more likely than he leaving, or stop being part of the otv proyect
I don't think he'll do that anytime soon, he is literally the creator
He literally made the org
I always get a little starstruck when Scarra is featured in a video. I feel like he doesn’t get the spotlight a lot, so I always get super excited when he’s given the space to talk a lot or be featured 😍
I feel like Scarra has so much untapped depth... but I also feel like he himself is slowly dropping into more of a ...boss role? like an agent maybe or someone who would be the owner of a corporation of streamers than the streamer.
It's a similar dynamic when you see that former A-list Hollywood actors step back from starring roles and want to get into directing or producing feature films instead.
"Craves Innovation But Hates Upkeep"
YES! Very well put. I've seen this in a lot of people, it's like treating leaned skills as collectible items.
I love the friendship that toast and scarra have.
These podcasts are great, and the Shang-Chi 2 updates are the icing on the cake
I look forward to the toast and yvonne episode it will be screaming and lots of banter maybe some crying. It will be Awesome
Hearing Scarra talk about disliking Reginald before doublelift came out publicly, airing out that Regi's a terrible person only makes his case better.
It is a good and bad thing that the top female streamers get more, cause on one hand a safe environment gets created and the benefits look good for advertising gaming to women, but then the women who then actually try gaming, the very bottom who they all forget about, get treated like SHIT; hence leave, hence less women in gaming. I think the industry needs to balance it out more
"Your emotion do not matter on the Rift" - Scarra 2021
Cannot agree more 😂
this ep felt like i was at a dinner with two uncles and just listening to them talk about life and things i don't really understand LOL but i'm here for it
Scarra will probably never see this but when I heard that scarra was doing keto I really got motivated to also do keto and I want to thank him for that.
@@RealTaIk what foods increase it?
@@mdikeee4817 pretty much every food that has sugar added to it. So you should avoid any kind of sauce in your food. I'm not sure about soysauce though, cause I never had it.
Finally Scarra, I been waiting for him to talk about all that shit that today I don't know ...how the people taking advantage of people haven't been sued
1:00:40 What scarra said is correct, he is a easy target for people to shittalk into tell me, why take your chances trying to shittalk other shittalkers were they would easy make a good burn and then you are the joke of the day when you can just shittalk the guy that never does anything
Thats why my tip against any bully is so keep fighting, fight and fight even if the odds are 1/99 once the bully realizes you are simply gonna get back up from the floor again and again they will stop trying because it really only takes 1win from your side to completely obliterate their ego.
Fight and get back up again, and when you can't anymore, do it again and again untill the end
"Your top speed is higher than mine, but my acceleration is faster than yours."

Even a community sweetheart like Scarra dislikes TSM Reginald well well well
great fourth episode.
didn't expect the surprise superstar scarra himself though.
great job getting him in a podcast.
This is a side of Scarra I never knew D:
Who knew he was so bothered by his weight, when hes so happy go lucky.
Personally I have never watched a scarra stream, I fell in love with his personality through OTV he is just an all round awesome guy who we all love to see and hear from! I hope once he retires from streaming he carries on being the big mafia Papi of the group guiding all the younglings 😁
Toast and michael = Best friends
toast and lily = big bro and sis
toast and poki = Parents or mature adults
Toast and scarra = lil bro and big bro
I Love scarra him speaking about haters made me tear up 😭
Scarra's got solid convictions and I respect that, but I think he and Toast both miss something important when it comes to discussing race issues and jokes: they have huge audiences that are, unfortunately, oftentimes impressionable.
I love the constant Shang Chi update. Keep it coming, Toast😂
after seeing this podcast my respect for Don Scarra has increased, he is confident in himself, he knows his worth, he loves his friends
"Because everyone's like, 'What does he think?'
You know? Ja Rule, fuck that guy!"
I love Scarra.
I feel like the whole Asian tv and them minimizing it and then comparing it to black tv or Mexican tv is prob because black and Mexican issues are more in the front or more “important” but I feel like comparing different minorities racist experiences is just a bad idea overall cause any racist thing with racist intention shouldn’t happen at all
I've never clicked a notif so fast
Scarra’s reasons for not keeping up on content/health stuff hit home so hard for me.
“Im great with innovation and struggle with maintenance”
Maintenance is the hardest part.
Rooting for you
That Asian take comparing to white, black comments really hit home; loved the podcast once again
IS MY FAVORITE ALCOHOLIC CONTENT CREATOR :0
im very confused as to how toast knew that i was having a nice poop on my drive home but thanks for wishing me well in the endeavor, toast :)
This one touched very spicy subjects without getting spicy at all. Nice. It shows that they both are extremely mature
Your transition between each topic is smoother, Toast! Also I can't wait OTV Poadcast ft. Yvonne
This new podcast format is amazing, super entertaining. Also props to Toast for hosting these, I hope he keeps doing it, he's great at it
So I knew toast got better looking I have been able to tell like everyone else. But i think it took the flashback where they showed toast on the old podcast for me to realize how much better he looks right now.
I love Scarra. I’m glad they have these talks to show how awesome he is.
Ey that’s me doesn’t matter how much time has passed it feels like is saw you yesterday 😂
PODCAST DAY IS MY FAVORITE DAY OF THE WEEK🤍
May sound wierd, but i didnt realize OTV had lots of asians until a content creator pointed it out :S
I just thought they were funny
I’ve been waiting all day for this. And also toast is doing a great job of hosting the podcasts .
If you guys haven't already done or thought of this you should invite Ludwig or Brodin to join the podcast.
I think toast talked about Ludwig possibly doing the podcast in his last twitch just chatting stream
"Your emotions don't matter on the rift" - Scarra
yo toast, you should run your friend group on a social credit system, they do an oopsie and there toast credit score goes down. say they come to you later, you can just be like "sorry your social credit is too low, cant let you into this next thing" boom problem solved
Honestly was listening to this podcast on/off all day. And as I'm finishing it, toast says 'have a good poop' as I'm sitting on the toilet.... I feel loved
Slightly off point but I honestly I don't get how scarra isn't a millionaire yet when he's making 380k a year :/ Like even if he spends 180k/yr and doesn't invest it wld only take him 5 years to get there and I think he's been huge from a while hasn't he?
I hope Scarra does more stuff like his Vtuber Collba September stuff, I really enjoyed watching him those weeks no matter the game.
