The dewalt is a super old tool. I've had mine for 3 to 4 years, and I use it when off-roading. I actually use it a lot, and I'm surprised it still even runs. Very reliable. I've inflated my tires numerous times from 25/23 psi to 32 psi to all 4 tires without really giving it a break. They really need to upgrade the dewalt lol.
I have owned both, and the Milwaukee one is a beast and fills my 33-inch truck tires up crazy fast. The dewault used to take forever, and it has no fan in it and it gets really hot. The Milwaukee actually has a fan that runs while you use it and keeps the temps down. The dewault lasted about 5 months before that variable control knob that you use to set the psi with failed. I didn't realise it had a warranty so now it's just a paperweight unless I can find the parts for it. The whole time I had the dewault, I never even used that other hose (and the milwaukee has the same abilities as the second hose, but you just have to screw on the adapter for it, which is included with it).
Just got the M18, with the 8XC battery. I had all four of my car tires inflated from 32 to 36 psi in what felt like seconds! It is definitely a pricier option, but man it's on a different level altogether. Can't wait to check and refill my tires!
why do you need to even do that set at 70 and it will do automatically i carry this to where i go it is awesome, my buddy uses at his garage all the time
I was using the Smittybilt 2.54 CFM Air Compressor - 2780 for years, but after I saw videos of this Milwaukee M18 2848-20, I upgraded. I also like the 100% portability and not being reliant on my Car Battery. I too was extremely impressed with the performance of this Milwaukee Air Inflater!
Just got the Dewalt via Amazon today (9/13/23 for $108. I really like the cigarette lighter option. The plan was to leave it in the truck and I know if I relied on the battery I would most likely disappoint myself in keeping it charged. However, I have not opened it yet and am now wondering if I should send it back and get the Milwaukee… what are everyone’s thoughts? $108 is not a bad price comparatively. My plan was to use for emergencies and maybe for inflating tubes for river floats. But, with the limited run time tubes may not be an option.
Forgive me if it’s me that’s miss understood the demo but you used the Milwaukee in manual mode? and not the target automatic mode where the Milwaukee will automatically pulse at the end to insure correct target psi is achieved automatically. Great video I’ve opted for the Milwaukee. I feel Milwaukee have concentrated all their R&D into an awesome inflator I’ve just ordered mine😊 (Ps side note I’ve also ordered a super charger m12-18sc. With redlink intelligence. In Simple terms it communicates with the battery to insure all the cells are equally charged. I’ve seen a few folks who I believe have been using the basic rapid charger and end up with battery failure due to a cell dropping below the voltage to the other batteries over time. Batteries are just too expensive to cut corners on cost with. Great video thank you
Just grabbed the larger 18v Makita one, it is pretty damn great, though my experience with others is limited, inflated car tire above my expectation for efficiency. Size wise it will be perfect to leave in vehicle as well. Looks like you got some uncontrolled splatter on the Makita dual charger! Love your vids and approach to reviews, keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching! While I am a big Makita guy I can't get behind the Makita ones because they lack an auto fill and you must hold the trigger the whole time. While I did use the manual mode for the Milwaukee in the video(it does have auto fill), it's still the winner by far.
@@UltimateToolReviewsThe Makita will fill and stop at desired psi, it does require a finger on the trigger (which is a flaw). I have a piece of Velcro on mine to hold the trigger down, others use zip ties, granted I haven't had to use it as I have only done top offs and minor fillings, but should I need it for an entire fill on side of road Velcro is ready. Wrong.. but ready! The punch in the footprint was ideal for my intended use. You definitely got a bargain price on the Milwaukee kit. Hope it serves well, that DeWalt seemed pretty sad, almost bought one year or so ago. Glad I didn't! Still love DeWalt for many other offerings. All these companies knock things out the park one moment and 💩 the bed in the next. Keep keeping us informed
@BUILTFORDTOUGH79 hahaha Ok, bud. You do you. Think whatever you want. If the 79 in your handle is when you were born, I'm older than you. Why do you troll?

Great review. Right off the bat with the Dewalt I was thinking "this is going to be painful" with how slow it was going.
I did an updated video with the Milwaukee, Metabo and Makita models, sold the Dewalt as it was dead last in most tests I did.
Damn. I just bought the dewalt tonight. I already had the m12. I’m gonna put the dewalt in my old lady’s car and get myself an m18 for the truck.

I agree with your assessment that the 12v corded option is great to have as backup, but the performance difference is drastic.
Milwaukee FTW

Got this same deal and love my inflator
Oh you have to hold a button on the M18?
No, has an option to pressurize while holding the button to do anything under 10psi, otherwise you just set the pressure and leave it
The box or manual probably tells you how long the hose is.
Dewalt took 25-30 minutes for my truck tire from 30 to 80 psi

My Makita DMP180 is my go to for low psi tires.
THE TIME DIFFERENCE IS INSANE !!!!
Thanks.... Now I'm off to spend moar money!!! I really wish Makita was more popular here in the U.S.There stuff is freakin great but...$$$$$$$
When and where was the milwaukee inflator and 2 5.0 with charger for $200?
Holiday deals last year, it was part of the $199 2x 5ah battery get a free tool deal.
If this is real journalism, it is fair to say when and where not be so vague
I just got the 2 batteries and free inflator for $299 with a fathers day special, i wish it had been $199
This Milwaukee deal is available from Home Depot now (11/2023) I just picked it up this evening
Today lol
My dewalt last me less than a year .l bought it from home depot
That’s exactly what I just did today
You don’t need to keep pressing it. It will automatically read the pressure once it stops and settles and it will continue again if it needs to.
I prefer the set and forget pressure on the Dewalt rather than the fiddly stop-start on the Milwaukee.
Milwaukee has the same set and forget it, I just didn't use it in the video.
@@UltimateToolReviewswould have been a more accurate comparison if you did though. Either way good job and thanks
How accurate is it ever used lot of them are not
I have the Milwaukee. It's shocking how fast it is. On a small tire it took it from 32 psi to 50 psi in 5 seconds. Blew me away.
No…. No it didn’t
@@BUILTFORDTOUGH79 ya. It did. It was only a 10 inch scooter tire. Settle down
@@jeffh7021 I have a wife… don’t live in my mommies basement. I’m settle

Dean Doherty has put me off Milwaukee. He repairs them for a living so he should know
If your other tools are dewalt buy dewalt and so on.
My miwaukee has auto feature. Check in to that.
It does, I tested it as well but the video had issues and I couldn’t include it. Even in manual mode it’s still far faster.
It looks like the Dewalt is yesterday's trash . Milwaukee is way more $$
Lol you said 2 10ths. That tape isn't in tenths
