So basically all high MSRP precious metal watches are no longer selling well. As expected. That means people are no longer willing to spend stupid money for watches, which will move over to steel soon.
The interest rates finally caught up to people and the dealers
I have seen the steel Explorer 40’s readjust by £500 over the past two weeks. If things keep on at that pace I should be able to get one soon for close to list price 👍
Back to the same as before. Precious metals Rolex’s always didn’t hold value until fairly recently
@@richardf7223 Some might call it a bubble.
That means it's time to buy under retail. Precious metals will be the leader during the next cycle. The goal is to buy quality assets when eveyone is selling because they are trying to raise money to sustain themselves. Dumb money buys when prices are high
People are so out to lunch, overpay for stainless steel but not spend on a timepiece that us under retail and made if precious metals.
Steel is affordable(at retail)even is a recession
I watch a LOT of watch videos and your updates are hands-down THE BEST. Appreciate your honesty!! Good on you!
Oh thank you so much, I really appreciate that - so glad you like them! 🙏

Yesterday I picked up my Sub Date from my AD having zero purchase history and my wait was only 3 months!
That’s incredible congratulations! 🙏
A few weeks ago I scored a LV (green bezel) sub date by walking in to a Rolex store. 0 wait, it was offered to me for purchase immediately. I think that tells a lot about the current market. Inventories are climbing and steel models grey market prices will soon be below MRSP which is where they belong
@@wukillahcongrats. what AD was this ?
@@donndee3587 one of the biggest AD on the East coast
Rolex will know. And they will hold production to artificially boost uo demand again.
I appreciate your candid no nonsense explanation of the situation we're in. If I was in the market for a watch and was based in the UK, I'd pay you a little visit.
Less investment and more wearing sounds like a healthier market to me. No crazy short-term spike, but a gentle and steady long-term increase, nothing too dramatic. People will feel like treating their luxury watches like jewelry again, not like investments. Prices coming down is also a deterrent for thieves.
Thank you mate, really appreciate that 🙏
Absolutely healthier, they should be worn and used after all!
If you ever visit the UK, give us a call - would love to meet you in the Boutique!
The reality is the watch Market is dead. People now want to enjoy what they have and make a story with it to pass it down.
Just got my first rolex, 2017 GMT Master II 'Batman' - absolutely love it and now wanting another one already!!!!
Oh amazing! Congratulations, such a stunning watch! 👌
That rose gold yacht master oyster flex is on my list. Gorgeous piece!!
It is such a gorgeous looking watch 👌🏻
Here in the States we are seeing a similar pattern but with a little different in the SS models. All the grey market dealers are flooded with SS sports models like the Subs and Daytona. Only problem for them is they aren't moving like they were a year ago or two and they are collecting dust. Sadly, they're still for sale at Pandemic prices and not coming down.
The ADs here in the states are getting more watches in and word on the street is a lot of people are getting the phone call and saying "No". can't blame them. I think later on this year and 2024 prices will continue to climb down in the grey and the ADs might actually ease up a bit.
I got the call and turned it down, but it wasn't the watch I wanted
@@rickjason215 Good on you m8. Don't buy a watch you don't want and certainly don't help an AD who's trying to dump his garbage on you. A lot of that going around
@@rickjason215welldone don’t give up will get a better offer soon
@bber45 I gave a deposit of 25% and after 6 months asked for money back. I got a call from the AD after 14 months, but it wasn't what I wanted.
I got the call for a watch that I have been waiting for last Friday. Collected the Rootbeer on the same day and it is stunning. More power to your channel for putting out great content. Kudos!
I think watch crime puts alot of people in the uk off buying a pecious metal watch. Its interesting the white gold daytona on oyster flex is one of your top precious metal sellers because its alot more under the radar.
Absolutely, yes this is considered a ‘stealth wealth’ in a way 👍
Didn’t like this guy at first but have to admit he does seem to be more credible than the other dealers.
Thank you Johnny, really appreciate that 🙏
Good most flippers are gone. Charlie always good to watch your Sunday updates. Like to see further drops in certain models especially S&G and precious metals🤔I have my eye on mint green Skydweller when drops big or if I’m very lucky get the call from AD😏
Thanks for watching once again Mike!
Such a stunning model to be eyeing up! 👌🏻
Grey dealers & ADs are now in competition to sell watches.
Can you talk about Tug Boat Tony of Timepiece Gentleman stealing $5 million in co-signment watches
The Bluesy is the best Rolex ever made.Forever watch
An absolute classic! Hold onto that one 🙏
Couldn’t agree more! 💙that watch … one day I’ll get a call 🤞
The Bluesy is a truly stunning watch. It's been around since the early 80s and it's here to stay.
I am very happy with the slowdown in the market, I've been able to get a BLNR for retail, I also have got my CHNR for retail as I simply just love the piece. I am now down for the Pepsi and the full yellow GMT.
I have had five people (including myself) get the call from their ADs. There is definitely a change in the market.
I’m jealous of your CHNR 😢 I want one.
Thats amazing to hear! Congratulations on getting some great watches 👌 Hopefully this continues and gets even better!
How much money did you give your AD to be on the waiting list ?
@@PogU_4Life maybe he lives in an area where demand might not be as high as in London. I’m pleased for him. I wish I was in his position to be able to buy them .
@@Madeinlondon67 honestly they are available, you just need to chase the dealer. Have you got your name down?
Thar chocolate dial rose gold skydweller is incredible. Unfortunately its miles out of my price range 😂
It is such a beautiful combination 👌🏻
People don’t want to buy OVER Msrp 😂😂😂😂
Daytona Ghost is 🔥 🔥 🔥
No doubt about it - one of the best models at the moment 👌
My uncle deals a lot of these higher end watches. From Rolex to Breitling, he sees a lot of inventory move through him. If you have an honest AD who does their best to respect in person shopping, and you show your face to that dealer once or twice a week, there's a good chance you'll come across the watch you want in 1-2 months. Just be patient and play the game.
Don't listen to whatever narrative people are trying to drive home to you... The fact of the matter is that people don't have 10K-30K dollars to dump into a 2 inch piece of metal these days, no matter how much they want to convince you otherwise. There's a reason these watches go STRAIGHT to eBay and FB marketplace the moment someone buys it, it's because they can't afford to hold it.
Times will change. What goes down must come up. Just like the economy
Well done Charlie 👏🏻
Charlie best watch to buy money no object? Platinum Daytona with Sapphire back or the one you wear everyday?
Ur uncle sells high end watches “breitling” haha must be a ebay seller him self 🤣🫵🫵🤣🤣
So people buy a watch and put them straight on ebay because they can't afford them?? They all suddenly lost their money in under 24 hours? Numpty😂
Quality advice, ouch to everyone in negative equity after buying at peak.
Thank you mate, really appreciate it! 👍
Truly the honest watch dealer
Thank you mate I appreciate it! Thank you for watching 🙏
Understanding price vs value is very important in the watch game. So let's say the gold value of a typical full gold Rolex is 8k (€/$), while msrp is 40k. A look at Omega might shed some light, since Omega is very similar in terms of quality, quantity, brand positioning. Full gold Omegas are at msrp 40k as well, however, if you wat to sell one as a private seller, they are very hard to sell. You might have to drop to 20k. And if the motivation "investment" is gone and you just want to enjoy a full gold piece, 20k less become a very interesting proposition.
Both brands are mass produced goods.
The fact that omega has to cut price by 50% in order to move in the market tells us its market position is very very different from Rolex. Not saying omega doesn't make good watches. But market sentiment is market sentiment, and it's irrational.
People with money will still have money they can do what they want
Immaculate watches as usual mate, Thank you for the update very interesting listening about the trends in the market and how quickly they change . Great video see you soon 👍🏻💥💥
Thanks Paul, glad you liked the update! Hope to see you again soon mate 🙏
All the best Charlie yes definitely mate 👍🏻
SD43 is my personal watch and I love it!
Such a great watch! Congratulations on owning such a stunning model 🙏

Destickered? My AD in the US says they are required to do that before the watch leaves the store.
Supposed to be protocol yes, occasionally a few slip through! 🤣
6:25 steel sports watches are definitely my favourite. Great video as always LWC 👍
Stunning aren’t they!
Thanks for watching Mark, hope you’re well 👍
Great info. Thanks for breaking it down. Some gorgeous watches and the Pikachu tops them all.
Thank you mate thanks for watching! 🙏 Such a great watch 👌🏻
The rose gold Skydweller with the Rose colored radiant dial was the BEST rose gold Rolex ever made IMHO.
It is a stunning looking watch 👌🏻
Fewer and fewer are buying leading to more and more availability at the AD and in the grey market. I predict prices will be at retail or below for most luxury watches by the end of 2024 💯
I bought a rolex back in 2015 before the shit show started, Rolexes of every model were in shop window, you had AD sales people trying to drag you in giving you catalogues it will go back like that, the wheel always turns full circle.
@@megane230f1 so did I and back then not many people wanted the submariner hulk...including myself as I passed on it.
Interesting take! Will be great to see what happens 👌🏻
@@megane230f1wow didn’t know that was the case only 8 years ago. So you could go in and get a submariner or a Daytona without a waiting list ?
@@rustyrocket8765you could get anything except a SS daytona, everything else could be had from a smaller discount for SS to bigger discount for precious metals and salespeople were actually nice! Before 2017. People just went crazy thinking it's an investment that goes up
SD43 is popular now? I was a dud a few weeks ago, no?
The market is changing quite fast at the moment, a real roller-coaster 😅
Great Video! What about the Hulk ($22k, full set, unworn) or the 36mm OP Tiffany/yellow (15k)? Are these realistic prices or can they be had for much cheaper?
Thank you for watching mate, Seems like a good price for the Hulk, maybe wait on the OP until more of the Celebration dial are available, it may bring down the Tiffany price a little 👍
What's your opinion on Christopher Ward Watches as an investment? Are they investment if kept new?
An honest assessment of the current market and trends… why buying over list choose carefully buy the pieces you love..
Thank you Stephen, I appreciate that! 🙏
If you buy the watch you love and to wear and enjoy you can't go wrong 👍
Wooow its the messiah of the watch dealers. This guy sells submariners by the pallets. 18 a week he once said 😂. Dont believe a single word that comes out of his mouth.
Rubbish. He said he sold 18 in a month, at least get your facts right.
@@TehHaffsTuts my apologies 😂 not even watchbox sells 18/month. Typical gray market inflated talk. He might sell 18 in a year.
@@ermir4444 that is literally 4x less than you’re misquoting. Big difference. 18 in a month works out at 4.5 a week, which including all submariner models, date, non date, hulks, Starbucks, bluesy , blueberry. It’s hardly some crazy figure, they are a popular watch. Genuinely answer me this, why is it so hard for you to imagine an established business with a good online presence and a team of people behind it selling 4.5 flagship models (of may I add the most popular watch brand) per week ? 🤷🏼♂️
What about the platinum DD?! How is the market for the discontinued quadrant dial? Love this piece! Keep up with the great content! Love from the 🇱🇷!
Platinum DD is definitely my grail. Prices have been decreasing continuously on these, grey market prices may end up in the 40s I hope
Thank you for watching mate!
Most precious metal models coming down at the moment, hopefully they will bottom out soon but we will see. 👍
Always look forward to your Sunday vid. Another belter. Great info as always mate!!
Thanks for tuning in again Greg! Glad you liked this one 👌🏻
My theory is that people can show off on the internet without the Gold watch
And plus unless you can fight there is no point in having one
That rose gold should be at a about 35k in the current market and that’s why it’s not selling
I’ve got a ghost. Bought rrp in 2017. Got a hulk bought rrp in 2017. For AP chrono ROO. Bought rrp in 2017. I really don’t understand how ppl can pay up for this.
Love your channel and content. How do you know which year the newer watches were made since Rolex no longer uses the codes? is it just the purchase date on the warranty card?
Thank you for watching the mate, really appreciate it! Yes thats exactly it 👌
wonder what will happen to rolex prices when they start up their second factory.
Will certainly be interesting to see what happens!
@@thehonestwatchdealer might drive down prices. if they keep this up it may ruin their brand
How are you getting on with Explorer 1's at the momens? Considering trying to get one from my AD
Should definitely be one of the easier ones to get from your AD, best of luck! 🙏
Are there any that are bucking the trend? Meteorite Daytona any different being discontinued?
Such a rare dial as this, they will always be highly collectible. Prices have come down a little, but should be great long term 👌
Unsurprisingly the flippers are gone now.
But I see the gold dial always on top of the market.

Charlie....love to hear your views on the Vintage Rolex Subs, Explorer 2 etc 1980's +
This is a market without a lot of publicity and they still hold their money....especially the mint full set versions. What are your thoughts ?
Thanks Charlie
Hi Andrew, thank you for watching!
Yes could definitely be something I explore in a future video, I will see what I can do 👌

Thanks Charlie
Well like Juan says” the watch market is dead and floating in the backyard pool facing down” this guy is also honest though a dealer prices he quoted are somewhat close to what the watches are selling for - minus another couple of grands I think. Not mentioned any thing about the datejust line as they are selling much below the retail except Wimbledon and also the Explorer range selling under retail. Still I like his videos and he tries to be as transparent as he can without upsetting his business muppet dealers. Good job mate.
Thank you mate I really appreciate it, glad you liked this one.
Everyone will have their own opinions on the market, thought I can't agree that it is dead!
I've seen an uptick in steel professional prices. Not earth shattering but it seems like a better investment in the grey market.
Absolutely! SS models will always be a safe bet 👌🏻

How are vintage Rolex going?
I’m keen on a gmt from the 1960s or 70s and a day date 36 yellow gold with the onyx dial. What does your crystal ball say about these models?
Also I’d love one stretch-goal super fun watch. I was thinking the green dial Daytona Beach with the green some dial (crisoprasio). Prices on chrono24 are crazy varied. I hat do you think the market price for this will be in 3 to 6 months? And if you were me, is there a different watch I should look into?
Cheers for these videos! Very helpful.
Thank you for watching mate really appreciate it! 🙏
So the vintage market has softened a little at the moment, so now might be the time to buy a vintage if that is what you are interested in.
Hard to say what the watch will be worth in 3-6 months, might be worth holding out a little longer to see if the prices become a little more attractive 🙏

The yellow gold really isn’t my thing but with the black band I really like that Daytona. Have to decide if that or the Panda version.

As always, great update, Charlie. I am going back-and-forth between the Pikachu and the meteorite on the oysterflex.
Thanks Eric glad you liked this one… very tough choice indeed! 😅
Any opinions about the 116515ln (Roségold, oysterflex bracelett and ivory dial daytona)? Where do you see a retail price for a brand new watch from 2023?
A stunning watch however can be incredibly slow to sell on.
Should be a good hold long term though 👌🏻
I think you love saying the word Pikachu! On a serious note, great market update as always.
Haha well it is a great word! 🤣 Thank you for watching, really appreciate! 🙏
In your opinion, why are the Daytonas so wildly popular? I mean there are only so many race car drivers out there, and I find them to be way too “busy” with the extra buttons and dials. While we’re at it, can you help me understand the complications of this watch? I have little understanding of the 3 dials within the dial or the twos buttons on the side. Thank you in advance.
Yes they certainly are a very popular model. So this is a chronograph movement, for recording lap times originally. The Subdials represent seconds, minutes and hours. With the pushers to stop and start the timings! I hope this helps.
Bought a SD43 recently .. not from you guys (sorry) .. but beautiful watch .. so well proportioned
Very stunning watch, congratulations! 👌🏻
Great Stuff and a good dose of common sense.. Top man Charlie and keep it rolling

Hi Charlie,
I’m considering a new/used Rolex and wanted to know if I can purchase through yourself. The reason I ask is due to where I live (N.Ireland).
The models I’m considering are the DateJust and also the GMT-Master.
It would be my top choice to make the purchase with yourself and get your advice too. You know more about the Rolex range than anyone else I’ve seen on UA-cam.
Let me know how to get in touch with yourself.

If you are going to buy to wear and enjoy, and keep it long term then you should be good 👌🏻
Would you still invest in a new model GMT Sprite from the AD as a safe investment over the long run?
Could be a great long term hold being what it is 👌🏻
At the beginning of the year, I bought the date just 41, white mother of pearl set with diamonds, fluted, jubilee. This is my first Rolex and I bought it direct at retail. Do you think this will appreciate over time? I very much want a day date. I was hoping one day I would trade in my date just with some appreciation, add a bit of cash and buy the day date. Do you think my strategy would work with this watch?
Stunning watch mate and a very rare dial 👌🏻
Yes long term you should be good holding it! Trading in + cash should be an option for a Day Date when the time comes 👍
