You can do the exact same thing with your turkey carcasses! I'll show you how to do that on the next video, so don't throw out the Thanksgiving turkey carcass!

I hate to jump the gun, but I did a turkey last week & cooked the carcass up for turkey stock. I've done this a million times, but this is the first year I've canned it. My question is... it turned a milky looking consistency, especially at the top of the jars. Does your turkey stock/broth ever do that? My turkey stock is always more cloudy or murky looking than my chicken stock is, even with straining/ filtering it. Everything sealed up just fine, it just looks like really pale gravy and then really milky looking stuff at the top. There is no thickener in it - it's just broth/stock. Everything smelled wonderful when I jarred it up to can.
      What do you think?? Thanks.

2 creators posted canning videos within a couple of hours… 🤔 me thinks I need to pull out the bones I’ve been saving in my freezer and finally give this a go. Thank you, Micky, for making this simple enough for me to feel confident to give it a go.
I guess getting started with making and canning broth is like learning to can…there’s a mental hurdle that holds us back and then when we do it, it’s like, “Why did I wait so long? This is not difficult.” 🥹
    Bless ya heaps 🙏🏼🙂❤

Hi Sandra. I think you summed it up well by saying it's a hurdle. It's a mind set of trying something new. I KNOW you can do this! Heads up... this Saturday evening (Sunday morning for you) I'll have another bone broth video using a turkey carcass. This Thursday, the USA celebrates a day of Thanksgiving and most people serve a big turkey dinner. That's the reasoning for my video uploads lately. Have a blessed week! 😊💗

Hi Barosunflower. I do the same thing with all of our bones. I don't do the venison though because my husband is concerned about CWD. There was a case reported about an hour west of us so he doesn't want to take that chance. Does he not think it would be in the meat? Oh well. Hi Peggy. Thank you. I appreciate you watching! My gloves are Thinsulate lined deer skin. I think they are made by Wells Lamont. I find them at the hardware stores. @@OuttheBackDoor Well, I think it is a really smart idea. I will be getting some new ones ( I have old chore ones but better start with clean gloves). We had 2 cows butchered this summer. I’ve kept the fat and bones frozen waiting for cooler weather to make tallow and bone broth. The gloves will be so much more handy than pot holders.
