I’ve been making bone broth for years keeping all carcasses and bones from bakes and roasts but keeping all the veggie off cuts instead of composting is a new one for me. Super cool idea! Thanks!

I highly recommend adding ginger root and turmeric root to this mix. It is yummy and ginger and turmeric are antioxidant power houses. Also, if flu threatens, the ginger helps settle tummies and both help with aches and pains.

Good teaching video! Thanks for making the specifics clear, (use good chicken) and for the option of adding other ingredients without "messing" anything up. Use what we have. Super great! Thanks

Who taught you all that you do?
    Was it your mum?
My Nan did amazing things with caught rabbits,my favourite memories are of Nan's house and the smell of cooking rabbit, caught by grandad and his ferrets,or, Nan cooking a pigs head for brawn. Amazing!

Thank you for posting this. I have a good amount of lamb bones in my freezer. They were harvested from my neighbors grass fed market lamb last February. Wondering if I can use your basic recipe for chicken broth for these lamb bones?
My initial intention was to give the bones to my dogs but they splinter too readily. I think bone broth would be a great idea. What do you think? Thanks again.

+Cissy Foster - I use it pretty quickly... so I just store it in the fridge until I do - If you put it in mason jars and cap right away it will seal and last for about 2 weeks in the fridge (NOT SHELF STABLE). If you want them shelf stable you have to pressure can them...

One thing I would like to see is after your canning or preserving is to see some videos on how to use the food that you preserved! I have your canning class and all your classes, what made me get it and all your classes? Videos like this, so passionate... Thanks again Carolyn and Family.... oh poop, I've got to go back... I forgot the name of the root you told me to get.
Something for nothing? Why don't you also in your spare time (only a joke) grow herbs or have one of your daughters when the weather is right for it, grow the things I can't find??? maybe???
