If you're wondering about the applause at the end, it probably wasn't for the relatively unknown Chris Rock as the guard, but for Tom Davis as the reporter. Al Franken and Tom Davis were early season SNL writing partners who eventually did bits together on the show (possibly during the Chevy era, and the reason for the cameo). Also, at the time, I think Franken had returned for his "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough..people like you" cast member era. Davis wrote a WILD book about their early days. And then passed away a few years later. Man, I lived through all this, I'm old......

Before i ever knew what Saturday night live was. My teacher would allow my friend and I to do comedy skits for the class. We would improvise and make everyone laugh. I can appreciate the art of comedy improv . Thank you for the laughs 💚

If you're wondering about the applause at the end, it probably wasn't for the relatively unknown Chris Rock as the guard, but for Tom Davis as the reporter. Al Franken and Tom Davis were early season SNL writing partners who eventually did bits together on the show (possibly during the Chevy era, and the reason for the cameo). Also, at the time, I think Franken had returned for his "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough..people like you" cast member era. Davis wrote a WILD book about their early days. And then passed away a few years later. Man, I lived through all this, I'm old......
