What's your favorite Tacoma trim level? 4x2 or 4x4? 4-cyl or V6? Access or Double? Thanks everyone for being part of the channel. jeff
I went with access cab with 6 ft bed. Love the extra bed space, it has come in very handy already.
Same here.
Me too. I sought the Access Cab out, actually. Need a daily commuter that can haul 6 bales of hay every 2 weeks and maybe tow a lightweight 2 horse slant once or twice a year. A work truck. Mine is the V6, though. Super happy with it.
@@corneliuscrewe677 I have the V6 also. I haven't towed anything yet.

Tacoma was awesome until they decided to move production to Mexico and not pass on the labor savings to the consumer in the form of a discounted truck. No thanks.
Any idea why they did that? What was wrong with building them in Texas?
I just sold my 2012 Base Tacoma 4x4 (Reg Cab/No Frills) and it was built in Texas.
@@OldDood Like I said, saves on labor costs and taxes. But they didn’t pass any of that on to the American buyer. And innumerate American buyers eat up more tacos than Ron Jeremy in his prime without realizing they are being doubly screwed. Once on paying too much and two, they are not supporting American workers who used to build the Tacoma.
When I went in to buy my truck the sales clerk said that the tacomas were still built in the US. The final assembly plant is SJ Mexico though. 1500 miles and no issues so far..
@@dannylewandowski2822 I read that multiple times and chuckled each time lol
@@dannylewandowski2822 right. I don’t think Mexico is the issue. Cheaper doesn’t mean poor quality. Toyota as a company has certain standards to uphold to stay at the top.
This was an awesome watch, Jeff. Your humor is tasteful and your dance moves are superb. I was watching this to help make a decision for the 2023 Tacoma, thank you!
I started with a '21 Access Cab (primarily to get a 6 foot bed) but the nagging thought that one day I might have to transport people other than myself and my wife kept creeping in. Ended up getting a '23 double cab Sport with "technology package" as the salesman called it. Couldn't be happier now.
I just bought a brand new 2022 Tacoma SR5 4X4 Access cab with the 4 cylinder engine. I’m a 5’6 driver so I don’t have my seat all the way back. The little back seats fit my step daughter (6 years old) she fits comfortably for now. We have 2 vehicles though so it’s not that big of a deal.
I chose the 4 cylinder to save on gas, I don’t tow anything, and the 4 cylinder will last me forever. Plus if I need to get a boost of speed to go up hills, merge on the highway etc.. then I’ll use the ECT PWR button. Also this beast will do just fine doing some off roading. Great truck so far! Maintaining 21-22 MPG city/highway mix.
You only save one mile by buying them 4cyl a six would be better that's what im trying to get.
@@Oldcarnut63the 3.5 doesn’t have the positive track record line the 2.7. It’s totally rock solid. Cast iron block etc. 3.5 has a few issues
Hey Jeff thanks for these videos you consistently show me important info about different trim toyotas. My buddy just picked up a 2020 v6 4x4 double cab Off Road after much research, and your videos were a valuable resource.
Jeff, I enjoyed your detailed review, comparison, so much information and in such a entertaining way! You are great. Oops! Now I see that I am missing the engine ... but I do not mind because I really wanted to see and hear all the info you gave me to make a good choice! Many thanks Jeff.
Double cab, long bed, all day "long". Even though I'm used to Tundras, I can almost make a work truck out of the Taco double cab with that amazing back seat drop and fold. I can store a lot of bins with tools and parts. It's similar in size to the back seat area of the Tundra double cab (pre '22). Maybe better than the 22.
I prefer access cab
In my opinion 4x4 V6 Access. Trucks are designed to haul cargo and most people have 2 vehicles these days
I would have to get a double cab since I drive a 2 seater. if anything, I would get a bed extender and lumber racks because I do the occasional home depot run.
any other truck and I would go double cab, but the back seats in the double are pathetic so I'm thinking about saving the money and getting an access
i picked up a 2022 Double Cab TRD Sport with Premium package and Technology Package in February. So far only complaint is the horrible phone call quality and low Bluetooth volume on the JBL stereo. Aside from that I am loving it.
Make sure your phone volume is up all the way
@@brandoncarneiro5567 Thanks for the advice. Volume was not the issue in the calls it turned out to be the transmit volume was too high causing all the distortion. The bluetooth volume however is an issue my phones volume is all the way up.
It's nice they added a split bench in the back so you can put a child seat in and still access the jack and not have to put your child on the side of the highway to change a flat.
It would be nice if e new Tocoma Access Cabs has the same interior space as the 2005 Tundra Access Cab since the new Tocomas are larger than the 1st gen Tundras.
like the smaller cab , more bed id buy it over ,the maverick or santa cruz at the same price like the sr 4x4 access cab to keep the price down
What is the weight difference between access cab vs. double cab ?
Just picked up my 22 Double cab last week. Loving it so far but I would definitely recommend the higher trim models.
Good for shorter drivers. Taller drivers it feels like sitting in a lounge chair by the pool.
@@pryme2013 6'3". I know exactly what you mean. Tacoma is very nice but it definitely makes me miss my old Tundra.
Guanajuato and Tijuana. I didn't realize there was more than one Toyota assembly plant in Mexico building Tacoma trucks.
This dude is hilarious
Don't need a Double cab if you have another Vehicle that seats 4
Access cab all the way in any pickup truck brands
Date list. Bottles and rope! 😂
How does the handling and driving dynamics compare between the two?
Can you add a fifth wheel hitch to tow an escape 5.0 light trailer
Double cab-long bed makes the Tacoma longer than the 1980s Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham.
Different trims for Toyota Tacoma

Hahahahaa have a great night!!
Hi Jeff
Hi Jeff- I live in the Boston area. I just picked up my new Trd Sport after waiting over 8 months. It is not the right truck for me:( My dealership is ordering a new one. I’m told it could take 10
months:( I am looking for a Trd sport 4 door, 5’ bed with advanced tech package. Any chance you could find one?
God bless
It’s at least a 6 month wait for all 4x4 Tacoma from us so I’d say I wouldn’t be the best resource. It’s tough to find these days
@@Toyotajeff Many thanks for your quick response Jeff!
I appreciate you, your reviews etc:) I guess I’ll just hold out for the long haul with my dealership in hopes they can produce.
Thanks again. God bless
omg. this was painful. Just the facts, Jeff.
Lol sorry you don’t like my presentation style. It’s definitely not like anyone else. Thanks for giving me a try at least. Enjoy your week! Jeff
