    I appreciate how raw this video is. Throw in some curse words and a little blood and it’s just how smoothly it went for me.

    Glad to know I’m not the only one who didn’t catch the oil filter mess. Just did my first oil change and did the exact same thing. Luckily I did it on top of a piece of cardboard. Good video!

    So I am pretty savvy with this kinda stuff, but I like a confirmation. You did a great job showing this, and honestly made it pretty entertaining. I say keep making similar videos and have fun with it.

      Thank you for your comment! I had gotten discouraged with posting these but (thanks to you) I have a new upload coming later today and am filming another video that will come out in a couple of weeks.
      Seriously! Thank you for your kind comment.

    Do you have any info on the lubrication points?
    I only found 2 grease fittings on the castor wheels, no where else. I assume the spindles would need grease but can’t find a fitting. Any important lube points?

    Pull the dip stick up a bit and it will drain faster. Square plug? Wow they just pull what ever they had on the shelf haha, mine has 1/2 tapered bolt . ; )

    • @nontgarage9819
      @nontgarage9819  2 роки тому

      Not sure. I’ve seen some places do it after service but I don’t know about from the factory. As long as it’s the blue stuff you should be in good shape to get it out with regular wrenches. Maybe just sticky since it’s the first time it came out from the factory. Heat will sometimes swell the bolts a bit too!
      Were you able to get it all done?

    So how often do you have to change the little fuel filter and spark plugs? I'm assuming it's not everytime you change the oil but I honestly don't know...

    • @nontgarage9819
      @nontgarage9819  2 роки тому +3

      I normally service it before every mowing season including oil, filters, and spark plugs. There are a lot of different schools of thought (every 50 hours, every 25 hours) but for personal use on an average sized property, once a season works for me!

    • @nontgarage9819

      I haven’t found anything that lasts for a full season in the East Texas sand. However, I’ve had decent luck with Gator blades from Oregon lasting longer than other brands.

    Cut the bottom of a gallon on milk to make a small low profile oil pan to slide under the oil filter to catch that bit of oil that drips from the filter as you unscrew it. Your driveway will thank you!

    Little tip if you pour the new oil with the opening on top instead of the bottom it doesn’t clug out and pours smooth

    I have now watched 2 videos on servicing a cub cadet and no one lubes the grease fittings or rubs a little oil on the rubber seal for the new oil filter. This one doesn't even cover blade sharpening. LOL

    • @donniesmith8779
      @donniesmith8779 2 місяці тому +1

      On this mower the only grease fittings are for front wheels, All of the pulleys are sealed. He did put oil on the seal of the new oil filter in this video. . I like replacing blades with new ones instead of sharpening, JMO. I just didn't understand why he jacked it up or lift up the front wheels to just change oil. I changed mine with all wheels on the ground.

    I have this exact model. Any advice why exactly the left and right levers for forward and reverse don’t match up off about 1/4 of an inch even after using the fine adjustments if I make them dead even the same then it pulls one way or the other

    • @nontgarage9819
      @nontgarage9819  2 роки тому

      Google “ZT1 throttle position sensor calibration” or “speed adjustment”. I’m not sure, but I think there is a 2-step process where you need to align the steering arms and then calibrate the speed so it doesn’t pull. It’s likely that you aligned the arms but now the speed calibration is off.
      Not sure if this is right but hopefully it helps!
