In the last 30+ yrs you metal detector folks have done an amazing job inadvertently cleaning our local beaches of centuries of dangerous metal debris. Fully appreciate it!!
You know Dan, everytime I watch one of your videos it always puts a smile on my face and makes the day a bit brighter. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication in doing what you love to do. Cheers😬
Got a magnet, it is easy enough to check if its a fake by just using a magnet to see if it is steel. If it's not, then it is probably copper or a copper and silver alloy. Every ring we make gets buffed to a mirror shine and while most of those are silver, we still make and sell several hundred gold rings per year. They all get a mirror polish unless the person ordering the ring specifically requests a different finish.
I am so thankful I couldn’t sleep last night. I came across your channel and I am really enjoying it. Your so educational and fun thank you keep the videos coming.
Inspired by recently "discovering" your channel, I bought a metal detector a few days ago. Took it out along a random stretch of Montana river and found 3 quarters, 2 pennies, and a dime! I'm gonna be rich Dan, *RICH!!*
News just in.... nice girl goes missing in the area. Last seen on the Beach.....Good news she was found. Dan accidentally buried her in a pile of sand while excitedly digging for more pull tabs ..... :-). Fun video Dan. Lovely beach area.
Hello Dan! You latest video with Pioneer Pauly was a hilarious treat! I guess her didn't get away from your four wheel driving with the Million Dollar Stone!!!! Hee Hee!!! LOL!! That was the best video I've seen you two do, and want to thank you both for sharing it. With your metal detector, did you notice that quarters fall out of peoples' pockets in stacks of two to four coins at a time. I found this to be true! My older brother and I repeatedly came across this phenomena at our local Saskatchewan beaches on more than one occasion! Amazing!
A beautiful day in a beautiful area with some nice finds makes a for great day. I'm glad you had a great time. Thank you for sharing it with us. GL&HH.
You Sir earned my subscription ages ago! But thanks for asking! I’ve clicked ‘like’ too, anything else I need to do, oh, comment! Bang, done! A committed Fan of Dan Herd Prospecting!
Well done, you found coins, a ring and ear ring (besides other metal items). Awesome job! great and relaxing fun, while enjoying beautiful BC landscape! I hope you find more items with your metal detector?
Dan you are definitely a 'glass half full' person! If i had worked that hard and found what you found I would be fed up! people lose things.it's a given, and you can't find people to give it back! They made sure they didn't lose much on that beach lol. Although agreed it is better to be out than stuck indoors!!
great video Dan, love to see you enjoying the beach. you and pauly get my funniest ever chase scene on youtube vote for sure!! keep up the good work and thank you.
Dan, I wish you could do a whole video on finding peridot/olivine. I know you briefly did a bit of finding peridot in scree somewhere, but it would be neat to see a whole video of it.
Well Hello Dan, I am assuming your next video will be at home going through the 2- 45 gallon drums of black sand you toke home with you. Just amazed at how must black sand there is at Bromley Rock.
Three or four dollars in change , gold plated ring and a costume earring piece is pretty small reward for your time in cleaning up the beach and making it safer, especially that fish hook. Thank you Dan for cleaning the beach. 👍
Always neat to see the coinage that turns up. You never know what you might find. The other day, I got change from the grocery store, and instead of an American penny, it was an old tarnished Newfoundland silver dime. Best find ever was metal detecting my parents' old horse pasture, and finding a British Shilling. Not bad for -BFE- Northeast Ohio.
Thanks for another great video, Dan! Ignore the haters, Some people just love complaining and seek any reason to do so. Don'tcha just hate it when ya get foil...ed....? Hahaha. Foil is the most annoying trash I come across. Nice find on the ring, even if it's plated. Also, I love the song choice at the end - I use the same one on my videos a lot too, There is indeed Gold in Them Hills. Keep it up Dan. Lovin' it.
I lost a white gold diamond earring at the beach in the water. I logged the location on my gps and 2 days later a gentleman went down with my gps location and found it on low tide. $1000 handed back to me. I was so grateful.
Back story, they are my day to day earrings. I was fishing all day, but decided to go tubing before hauling the boat out, we beached/anchord the boat in 20 to 30cm of water while setting up tube ropes, changing prop pitch ect. I took my earrings out sitting in the boat to put away, but I fumbled and dropped one out my hand and it hit the side of the boat and went into the water. It was a 50/50 bounce that didn't go my way. Usually if I know im going tubing I leave my earrings at home, but this was the one and only time I made a last minute change of decision.. the earrings are $1000 a set so only $500 worth he found.. but one earrings not worth much without its pair Also i gave the guy a 6 pack of premium beers, he wouldn't take anything else, took him 4 hrs to find it, but he said it was great fun and gave him a chance to learn his machine more and see what gokd with diamonds buried reads on his metal detector..
While you were talking about the two quarters I couldn't help but notice the deer tracks right in front of you.. It's fall, time to go get some jerky! Wow.. she's cute.. Whoever says California has the prettiest girls is off their rocker.. There's pretty women almost everywhere. "Every day extasy" she says.. Makes me think of your saying "remember always fill your holes.." -.- lol Nice little bead headed nymph, really common fly to use all over the world.
My fathers story of detecting on a beach on the Arrow lake in the late 80's. He spent a couple of hours and became really disheartened when it was full of what he thought was melted tinfoil. After collecting more than a pound of it he threw it in the dumpster and left. Turns out it was likely spillage from a silver smelter. He was not happy.
The shifting sands on the beach must act like a buffing pad. It looked like just about everything you pulled out of the sand on that beach was nice and shiny, even Devie. No fair prospecting there, you're spoken for.
I always enjoy a good detecting video. I do like when you can hear the signal from the detector though, any chance you could make that happen next time? Have a good one!
Fun video Dan, and I like the music you chose for this, sounds nice and a good level, keep the great work up, always look forward to new videos from you and Mike and Pauly, hope to see another collab!
I'm curious what you think of metal detectors and where to find a decent one. Isolation has given me the drive to try it. I feel it's best to ask someone other than a store what's good and what to avoid.
Hi Dan, I think that small round rusty object might actually be an old button, it looked like there is the remains of the tab on one side that the cotton would have gone through to hold it in place (cant remember what it's called).. could be a piece of history for you.
Dan I love your channel you make this stuff fun. I would like to just point out something that is kind of a pet peave of mine. It is the way people pronounce jewelry by saying jewlery. You said it both ways in this video actually. Moving on, thank you for doing what you do and keep up the good work.

Thankyou Zak a Roo :) that means a lot, be sure to pass it on to your local council, help us clean up more areas & allow metal detecting😊👍
That's a great way of looking at it
Right. I watch them clean-up land, beaches, rivers, lakes, and oceans. Most are proactive, and make clean-up part of their treasure hunting!
Did a few beaches last week. USA. Dozens of beer tops. Ugh. Ended up with 2 cents and a cleaner beach.
Right on Frank. People don't realize what a quiet service for the communities we perform.
what beaches if you dont mind me asking. i recently have gotten into metal detecting and have very limited places to metal detect in indiana
Jones beach
Good job finding the fishing hook, you wouldn't want that in in your foot.
That's a fly for fly-fishing. 😎
Funny how fishermen say it don't hurt the fish. Yet the fisherman I saw with a hook in his ear was dancing like a little girl who just got stung .
I've found several with my feet at our local lakes here in Texas. If the barb goes all the way in its extremely hard and painful to get out.

never would have occurred to me, dragging the shovel to mark where you've already been
