    Video ideas:
    -DIY bouquets and boutonnières
    -traditional vs casual weddings (the differences that you’ve seen from experience)
    - tablescape ideas for different themes
    -how to pick a theme/color scheme for your wedding

      Another idea just came to me lol. Could you please make a video talking about what a bride should include in a wedding binder! Like, what kinds of information would actually be helpful and important enough for our coordinator to know for meetings. I’m meeting with my coordinator in a couple weeks to give her more information about my wedding day, but I’m not sure exactly what I should bring with me to the meeting!

    Also, some DIY ideas: centerpieces(simple or elaborate), wedding favors, a wedding cake(I’ve been debating on doing my own. I want something very simple. And only want the top tier to be actual real cake), backdrops for a photo booth or even as a statement background for something like the entrance/guest book etc, parents/wedding party gifts, welcome sign/saying for ceremony/reception. I’d love to see more DIY videos!

    Can you talk about some less traditional weddings that you've planned or coordinated ? Like, weddings at less common or unique venues (we are planning at a restaurant and I can't find any tips or information for that), small weddings (ours is 20-30 people)... What other entertainment besides dancing for so few people? Anything else "nontraditional" that you can think of.

      I've seen people buy cool coffee table books and get people to look through and sign their favourite part of it, so you get to read the book and hunt for the messages people have left you, depending on the book it could be really cheap (could be second hand/vintage from a thrift shop) and possibly something you'll look through more than a guest book

    Congrats on 20K! Well deserved, and should just keep growing ;)
    For future ideas - an interview with a wedding dress designer/good shop assistant/tailor (or smth like that) would be really cool and helpful, as picking your wedding dress can also be quite challenging - you should like it, it should look good on you, it should fit the theme, it should fit the venue, it should be affordable, should you have it custom made or buy in salon, or order online...,etc.. Maybe there are some tips and tricks on this one as well?

  • @Mindova

    It's a little too late for me with my wedding coming this May 18th, but could you do a video of Pro's & Con's of a DIY venue? I underestimated severely the amount of work to do even with the help of a "partial-planner" working with me. I do not regret it since I live on a beautiful farm, but explaining how much extra goes into a DIY venue like a house might make couples realize the value of just using a venue before it's too late.

    Hiiiii!!! Um, yeah I very very rarely post a question BUTTTT I’m glued to your videos since I got engaged on 12/25/18!!!!!!! You are a doll... PERIOD! I did have a question I swear..🤔
    Oh yesssss....
    What if we don’t want to do a traditional wedding yet, semi traditional? We are super introvert and weird and silly but only around our very close people so a full wedding program with dances and toasts and all the other things people do is very intermediating to us!!! How would we fill that space? How do we let people know? Will it be odd when half your invitation list is proper poised perfect people 😆🤔 help? And of course CONGRATS ON 20k!!!!! Well deserved!!!

    • @smellmycoffee
      @smellmycoffee 5 років тому +2

      Haha we are so similar!! I got engaged the day before you and we are also both introverts. We aren't having speeches or anything like that, and I don't think we'll do the traditional first dances. We're doing our wedding in my parent's garden and are having a capri marquee. The ceremony we're having is humanist so we get to decide exactly how that goes, we're going to write our own vows but both hate public speaking so we'll have the celebrant say them and we just have to say 'I do'. We're going to keep the ceremony quite short, and enjoy a dinner and party in a relaxed atmosphere with all the people we love afterwards. If someone from my family really wants to do a speech they can just get up and do one, but we'll spread the word around family in the lead-up that we aren't doing speeches ourselves.

    • @dstuart8722
      @dstuart8722 5 років тому +1

      Similar boat lol. Don't be pressured into doing what you don't want to do on your day. Utilize the maid of honour n best man for speeches. A dance isn't mandatory either lol. Tweak to suit your wants

      The only wedding book I bought is A Practical Wedding and I totally recommend it! It's great for figuring out what you want your day to be like and just keep in mind that you can do anything you want. The only thing you need is you, your fellow weirdo and maybe someone to make it legal. Or you can make it legal later. Just figure out what you want your wedding to feel like and choose componenets after that. Nothing's mandatory!

    DIY veil please! They are so expensive to buy, but I’ve read that a simple one can be made for like 80% less or something crazy like that.

      Not sure if you had your wedding? But I helped plan my brothers very budget Covid-friendly elopement/wedding. I’m not in this business or field but I’m excellent at talking / negotiating. His wedding was for around 2k. His wife wedding dress was $25 her veil was $15. She said the items were purchased online and Joanne -it come out amazing!

    Please do more DIYs! Especially with florals, backdrops, and other decor. Perhaps decor using unconventional materials?

    Are there people who do both? Do you do both? Of course with added cost but I figure it would make sense to have the same person throughout the process

    My fiance and I are thinking about incorporating games into the wedding. Have you had experience doing something like and how would you schedule it out during the wedding timeline?

      I have experienced that. Is good to do it after the food is done and is time to have fun and dance. Usually people are hungry so it's best to do the food first.

    Do ALL the diys!! How about decorating a wedding cake? My MOH is making the base and I'll decorate it with fresh flowers and I don't know what I'm doing! I've bought gold dust cause it was pretty soooo.... I've also got into my head that I want to make it a piñata cake so I'm just throwing myself into the deep end of the pool 😂
    We're also doing our own flowers with one of those foam thingys in a bowl vase. I know you've done a bouquet and it was lovely so...help??
    There's also so many cool diy cake stands floating around on Pinterest that I'd love to try out. And lots of cool decor with moss. Busy bags for kids! Temporary tattoo stations! Photo booth! Cool guest book! Lawn games! How to put together a dessert table! How to write for instance a seating chart on glass - they're so cool and I've just bought two old windows so I'm pumped but clueless! Those cool hanging greenery/floral garlands where the plants hang upside down! How to preserve your wedding bouquet, so many cool ideas out there! There are so many cool ways to display large letters for the couple like with flowers or marquee lights that look so pretty! How to decorate an arbour or similar with flowers! How does diy snapchat filters work?? Have you seen those big canvases with balloons with paint inside that people throw darts at and then you remove some vinyl you've put down to get a cool painting? Looks awesome but maybe super difficult? Helium balloons with fairy lights inside! Possible or just a pinterest dream? Simple finger food for cocktail hour? Can you tell I've got loads of diy things planned? Good thing we're working with a long engagement 😂

      Amateur cake decorator here! Do a trial run (or three lol) of the icing and flowers. If you’ve never done it before ever, it’s not super hard if you keep it simple. Watch a bunch of decorating videos (Rosie’s Dessert Spot is good for simple but elegant decorating ideas) and start prepping now by making one cake per week leading up to the event so you have time to practice without stressing over it.
