The man on the wheelchair is Hrithik who was a famous magician and is now a quadriplegic…his ‘guzaarish’ or wish is to be granted to perform euthanasia…Aishwarya, is his caretaker, she takes him to this club and is trying to make him feel good by her dance…a really touching movie….once again please react to Bang Bang Title track…you’ll be amazed to see Hrithik and Katrina on fire!!

Parts of Indian continent was colonized by Portuguese, Dutch, French in addition to British and Mughal reigns. So the Indian music will have multiple influences depending upon which region you’re referring to in that movie’s context. Multiple regions, 2000+ dialects and gazillion traditions .. thats Indian culture and diversity for you to absorb and you guys are making great progress. Keep at it!

But In case of Sunidhi she never got trained in any kind of music, Tabassum ji saw her in a stage show and decided to ask her producer friends to launch her.. Sunidhi was 7 or 8 at that time whatever she has learned about music, it was through different producers in recording studios.. Both have different styles of singing and both are legends.. ❤️

This movie is based in the Indian state of Goa which used to be a Portugese colony, hence the Latin influence.. You’ll find many Latin/Hispanic/Spanish inspired songs in Bollywood from the Portugese influence and also because the Gypsies of Spain are originally from Northern India.. so Gypsy music is actually Indian music.
I would still recommend ‘Rockstar’ to be your first Bollywood watch. Because you guys are into music and the movie is full of amazing music and the story is all about a normal person who wants to be a successful artist and how does he get there.
Yes, u felt flamenco type music as this film was set in Goa (Indian state and was a Portuguese colony and having Portuguese influence over architecture and music). Spain and Portugal have lots of similarity in music and all.
Goan music is distinct from Flamenco. The closest form of Indian music (at least vocally) would be Rajasthani folk (which may explain why Shail Hada was chosen to sing the Flamenco-influenced bits). This song has a touch of Goan konkani and a significant Flamenco influence.
Bro flamenco is the signature art of romani people who were indians moved as slaves by turks and then forced them to move west

Guys if it's your first film then "3 Idiots" makes perfect sense as it has all the emotions and much more of a complete Bollywood movie only drawback for a westerner I would say is it's a bit long-duration-wise other than that a perfect way to start your Bollywood journey...

Wrong. It's a musical with unnecessary dance numbers with a really good story. As in the video, they like realism. Do you think the whole college starting to dance on all is well is in any way realistic? Do you think the background music score is strong? Isn't it immature at certain places? Isn't the acting too theatrical?
It's all strange to someone who is used to a realist approach to movies. Add the culture shock on top of that. They will appreciate the movie for sure but highly doubt if they'll continue watching bollywood after that. Rockstar, on the other hand is perfect choice for them to begin with.

Sunidhi Chauhan is the singer that I loved most during my childhood when I didn’t know much to appreciate classical style so didn’t like songs of singer’s like Shreya that much. This movie displays basically Dutch and Portuguese influenced culture of Goa in India. Goa has beautiful beaches and loads of tourist spots. The movie is about legalizing euthanasia a.k.a. mercy killing in India back in old times.

@@akkkkk813 First, the music is called Flamenco, not Flamingo. While it is true Flamenco has a lot of Indian influences because of the Roma people, other forms of music such as Arabic and Jewish and indigenous Spanish influences also came together to form Flamenco.

I wish I could recommend some songs of her but I don't have much on her but you should DEFINITELY explore her songs. Also I recently watched one of bollywood movies called "Padmavat" ( Amazing movie ) and it had a track called "Rani sa" gave me goosebumps, u should listen it. ^_^

3 idiots should be your first movie from bollywood
Hey guys! I know you've been into listening to Arijit Singh and prefer live performances. So, I would really recommend that you check out "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" from his MTV India Tour 2019. I believe you already checked out another song of his called "Dua" from that concert as well. The arrangement is amazing (and I think he composed this concert version)!! I suggest checking out the studio version before watching the live one so that you can pick out the differences in the arrangement, I think it would be something cool to see!

I might be wrong but this influence of Latino music in Bollywood comes from R D Burman. Foot Tapping, fast paced numbers were his forte and he used innocuous items like bottles, cups, bamboo sticks etc as minor percussion all the time.

Well it's wrong to compare Shreya and Sundhi because both have different voice to be honest. Given your interest in music you should start with the movies of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Guzarish, Hum dil de chuke Sanam, Bajirao Mastani, Padmavat etc.
Excellent movies though Three idiots and other recommendations you mentioned are music is less important in them. Good musical numbers in them too though.
Other good choices would be Maniratnam's nineties movies like Roja, Bombay and Uyire. They have music scored by A R Rehman. The songs are a work of genius but the meticulously composed background music is as good if not better.
