Simple people stayed politeistic even if there was no right to pagan temples anymore. Also, the fragment with a lot of battles with knights in white, with black cross on cloaks: one of dukes in Poland, Kazimierz Mazowiecki, rulling in eastern part of Poland had problems with pagan Balt tribes close to his borders. Hi, I just wanted to say that that was not crowning of Mieszko I, it was Bolesław Chrobry who got crowned to be a king of Poland in 1000 r. He got crowned by Otton III. Sorry to be a prick, really. . But anyway it is a very cool video, and it's awesome that you're talking about it. If I notice anything else that is not entirely correct I'll edit my comment
@@VigosDad It's also good to point that Mieszko I was never crowned to be a king. He was the first sovereign (officially known), but his son, Bolesław Chrobry was the first king
@@kandarayun yeah but the symbolic crowning took place during Zjazd Gnieźnieński when Otto III put his crown on Bolesław's head. However you're right that the official crowning took place in 1025
1700-1800 I don't think he's throwing coins at people, these are probably bits of bread😉 I think this a representation of so called "Polska pańszczyźniana" which was abolished in the 19th century. Please type the entry "Serfdom in Poland" in Wikipedia, this would give you some insight.🙂 PS. Those could be coins as well, if it's representation of "pańszczyzna"...🤔
5:26 It's no one in particular but the style is called "Sarmatian Dress". Sarmatians being a romanticized horse people like the Scythians that the polish nobles would claim descent from. So it had a very 'eastern' or asian/Turk style of clothing and facial hair. Much different from contemporary European style wearing hosiery and big powdered wigs in that same era. The only person it 'might' look like is Pan Zagloba from Potop, the book and movies.
Great videos 👏🏻 If You are ever interested in Polish history I would advise learning about our pagan culture and how so much of it still exists and existed even though we were technically a christian country. It is honestly a very beautiful topic and I think you could do it in a very interesting way
You've made a few mistakes there but no problem: These three dates where you say that Poland is booming out is quite an oposite because the Poland was erased from maps for 123 years up to 1918 when after WWI we finally were back after being devided by three nations: Russia, Germany and Austria-Hungary. Those were very dark times for Poles (There were few rebelions - trying to get back the independence but they failed) If you want you can try to read "Syzyfowe prace" in whatever language you want. It will give you a lot of information about these times. The Polish Underground State was created in WWII. Very nice of you trying to explain it :) PS Polish pilots played crutial role during the battle for England during WWII (the 303 division)
A. D. 1000 - zjazd gnieźnieński. Emperor Otto III, ruler of German Holy Roman Empire made a pilgrimage to st. Wojciech tomb, one of first martyr of christianity in our country. During this event Otto III symbolically crowned polish prince Bolesław with his tiara, thus recognize him as a ally of german nation. Bolesław was officialy crowned 25 years later, as the very first of polish kings. Unfortunately the same year he died. Mieszko I was the first historically aknowledged ruler of Poland, a prince who declared christianization of Poland beginning from the year 966.

Try to find sth about Arkady Fidler and his book "Dywizjon 303". I know it only in Polish language, but if you try to find out about polish pilots who fought against Germans forces over the UK you will suprised. I remember, Mr Churchll said sth about Polish pilots who was taken place in the WWII. Greetings from Poland
3:12 funny thing... see that building to the right? The big gaping door? There is a McDonald's there now xD 5:25 looks like Jan III Sobieski tbh, in his late late years. 8:04 yes, you're reffering to "Dywizjon 303". WWII. You know a lot but i gotta say, there are sooo many more details you missed. Like this naval ship firing. That's schleswig holstein and it's infamous 1st salvo at the free city-state of Gdańsk. The ship came to the shoreline pretending to be on some diplomatic mission or some other n a-zi BS. THIS was the de facto start of the WWII.
Hey @Vigo's Dad did you watched Jan Komasa's Warsaw 44'? It's the best movie about Warsaw Uprising. A lot of still living insurgents claims that this movie really showing how Warsaw Uprising looks like. This is very important part of Polish history at WWII. You should see this film. Mieszko was a prince, but his son-Bolesław Krzywousty was the first to get crown from Rome due to objections from german kings, who had power at this time
5:25 - I think this guy is just meant to be a representative of Polish nobility, especially the wealthiest ones, from 18th century. Opulent, complacent, thinking themselves kings of the world, defying and rebelling against any kind of political, judiciary or economic reforms, because they might take some of their privileges away.
I think you have rights, this guy is member of the smallest and the most powerful socjalgroup in Poland history, it's call Magnateria. Thanks to them money they controle most od Poland politics. Unfortunetly they did't though about country and took care only about they own busness. Many od them was corupted by Rusia and Prusy.
Mieszko was a prince he converted Poland to christianity but havnt been crowned it was his son Boleslaw Chrobry who was first king of Poland.. few mistakes in story..and its important to say that Oświecim Auschwitz was created by Germans during war for primary Polish, but they started with Jewish,Russians,Romanians and soldiers captured during war..on other side Stalin, Russia created Gulags on Siberia, many died.. they also murder many polish high officers in Katyn , Miednoje...and many other in Poland, whose graves are not found yet..

i don't know if somebody mention this, but guys throwing a coins, was mention to a poor uprising i think. We had a moment in our history when poor people were fighting against rich. This was awful. Cutting riches in half with a saw, dress up rich kids with a strwa and then burn them. It was all about killing the riches, i don't say it was ok or not ok but it was brutal as well.
Pilots you were talking about were pilots of 303 polish squadron in R.A.F. They were the best in terms of shooting down enemy planes and not loosing own machines and pilots. No other squadron can be compared to them. Without them, battle of england would be lost, and 3rd Reich would be able to invade England.
5:30 it shows the huge economic stratification between nobiles (knights, lords and princes) and commoners (paesants and citizens). It was a cancer of XVIII c. Poland and led her to collapse.
1918 was the Polish Soviet War, which Poland won. The insanity of World War I, with the Russian Empire collapsed, followed by the defeat of the German and Austrian empires, led to the rebirth of the Polish Republic. My great grandparents left Poland during the Partition. Great grandpap lived where the Russians ruled. My grandmother's parents were from around Krakow.
I know this movie and i HATE it because it's super-chaotic. That's basically History of Poland movie for people who already know history of Poland. I prefer this one. This one is in similar aesthetic style, but at least has some minimal educational value. You can understand what's going on: ua-cam.com/video/Q88AkN1hNYM/v-deo.html
Poland is fed up with relying on allies who, in the end, will turn away from us ... That's why I am proud that the Polish government pumps a sea of money to the best military equipment and recruits the largest army in Europe
Imagine that still people from Western Europe think that there is poverty and communist backwardness in Poland, I am proud of my country and the fact that I am a Pole and we will deal with this government today as it used to be before :)
Really cool video! One small explanation. At 5:30 its noone particular, but the autors try to show the strength of Polish nobility in 17-18 th century. Polish nobility was very rich, wanted to manage their lands (they had thousands of villages under their rule) like separate countries and they were often against the reforms. Weak country really matched their interests. Thats why Poland got so weak and was partitioned.

It was the second world war that polish pilates had a significant impact :)
Also, when you mention the underground army, I'm not sure if you're referring to Powstanie warszawskie or not, I seem to recall the video you mentioned, that was also during WWII not WWI :)
Thank you sooo much. Love that you love my country and do these videos 😀 Keep them coming and can’t wait for more.
You know more about polish history than even Poles do. "Praca organiczna" - absolutely outstanding! Robiesz świetną robotę, a Twoje filmy są wow. 5 rzeczy, których nie lubisz w Polakach to pełen profesjonalizmu opis ;)
Great video
"For the King of Saxony, eat, drink and let go of your belt" is a noble proverb praising the carefree and prosperity of the times when the kings of the Saxon Wettin dynasty (1697-1763) reigned in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth big guy throwing coins - prosperity in Poland, )
To powiedzenie z ironią. Wojna na północy, państwo marionetkowe, a szlachta żre zamiast reformować kraj.
Also, an interesting fact, the true beginning of WWII was marked by the Third Reich bombing the radio station in Gliwice (now Poland, then Germany) to make Poland look like the aggressor and initiate Blitzkrieg :)

Wowww ! I'm bloody impressed with your Polish pronunciation. Keep doing Bro !
So Mieszko I was a prince and the actual first king was Boleslaw Chrobry coronated in 1025 :)
First king of poland was been Chrobry, Mieszko was been only lord. So first poland coronation was been in 1000.
In 1000 was symbolic one, from Otto III, young but powerful emperor of Germany. He put his crown on Bolesław's head, during emperor's pilgrimage to Gniezno, to grave of saint Wojciech/Adalbert. But propably it was more the symbol of friendship between those 2 rulers, not real king coronation. The real/official one was in 1025.
7:27 its Schleswig-Holstein ship. That one officially attack Poland. I've even meet one of Westerplatte soldiers, and hear all story. His name was Ignacy Skowron. I have just one km to his grave. R. I. P.
Have to be it , nie wiem czego bym nie pomyslal wczesniej
Dziękuję. Gołota mi nie przyszła do głowy, bardziej myślałem o chłopach.
You missed the Teutonic Knights in 1300-1400. They were the ones we won the Battle of Grunwald against. As well as the Battle of Warsaw in 1920, also called "Miracle by Wisła". It's called one of the most important battles in history, since it stopped communist Russia form going further West.
But generally speaking, it's a great video and you shouldn't be sorry for the research. It's tiring to see videos of people watching this and knowing nothing about what is happening. So, yeah. I'm glad :)
You may also enjoy the videos with the shorter version that goes with lektor, who tells you the story though there are English subtitles. Here are the links:

Hi, I just wanted to say that that was not crowning of Mieszko I, it was Bolesław Chrobry who got crowned to be a king of Poland in 1000 r. He got crowned by Otton III. Sorry to be a prick, really. . But anyway it is a very cool video, and it's awesome that you're talking about it. If I notice anything else that is not entirely correct I'll edit my comment
excellent, thank you for the correction. Please let me know if I made more mistakes, it's important to tell it like it is! :)
@@VigosDad It's also good to point that Mieszko I was never crowned to be a king. He was the first sovereign (officially known), but his son, Bolesław Chrobry was the first king
Bolesław crowning in 1025, no 1000.
@@kandarayun yeah but the symbolic crowning took place during Zjazd Gnieźnieński when Otto III put his crown on Bolesław's head. However you're right that the official crowning took place in 1025
Vigo's dad brawa za wiadomości historyczne i pozytywną energię:)
It is honestly a very beautiful topic and I think you could do it in a very interesting way
you know Polish history better than I do 😂
go to Gdansk ... wonderful
Pozdrowienia dla karoliny😘❤️
7:43 II WW. They help to win battle of England. I recommend to read Arkady Fiedler's book "Dywyzjon 303".
You've made a few mistakes there but no problem:
These three dates where you say that Poland is booming out is quite an oposite because the Poland was erased from maps for 123 years up to 1918 when after WWI we finally were back after being devided by three nations: Russia, Germany and Austria-Hungary. Those were very dark times for Poles (There were few rebelions - trying to get back the independence but they failed) If you want you can try to read "Syzyfowe prace" in whatever language you want. It will give you a lot of information about these times. The Polish Underground State was created in WWII. Very nice of you trying to explain it :)
PS
Polish pilots played crutial role during the battle for England during WWII (the 303 division)
It's kind of humour from my side :)
Do you know that somtimes when you said "Vigo's dad" we heard "Bigo's dad"? :)
You should see "Niezwyciężeni". History of Poland in World War II
super thx
I'm new on your channel... But I have to say, I love your attempts to speak Polish. In this sea of attention whores, you are doing something cute, true and it is even interesting! We need more people to be like you.

The Guy you were curious about was Jan ||| Sobieski
2:12 Mieszko I was first ruler of Poland, buy he was olny a duke, his son was our first king
This man who tosses coins at people is a nobleman. The nobility had a lot of money and poor peasants worked for them.
Czekałem na ten film :) skąd ten pomysł? :) Bitwa Monte Carlo - tu Ci sławni polscy piloci :)
Mam nadzieję że to żart xd
@@MACIEK1997ddz żart:) jako pierwszy zauważyłeś :P heh
3:12 funny thing... see that building to the right? The big gaping door? There is a McDonald's there now xD
5:25 looks like Jan III Sobieski tbh, in his late late years.
It is on Netflix now
It's not Patryk Vega's film
Warsaw'44 was directed by Jan Komasa
@@JD-ni4og Jesus, you are wright! I should have remember this... It's just a typo. Shame on me!
4:24 it's NOT synagog, it's ortodox church.
1830 November Uprising
1863 January Uprising
Mieszko 1 was a prince of Poland, not a king. The first king of Poland was his son: Bolesław Chrobry
You have rights, this animation is good, but much better is "Unconquared", about Polish history made by Polish Memory Institut. It's only since WW II, but mamy more precisious.
I will have yo do a reaction video of that one too in the future :) thanks for letting me know. what happened in Poland after WWII Is very interesting and relevant!
Dziękuję!
1966? loose up 1 in the begining.
I think unconquered animation is also good🙂
Hi, I am Polish girl in Australia 👍😊
It's where we believe the beginning of of the lore begins.
3:54 Władysław Jagieło after1410 battle of Grunwald and Polsko-Litewskiej Uni 1605 battle of Kirholm XVII century polish- sweden war, potop szedzki, sarmatyzm XVIII wStanisław August Poniatowski-the last king of Poland
i don't know if somebody mention this, but guys throwing a coins, was mention to a poor uprising i think. We had a moment in our history when poor people were fighting against rich. This was awful. Cutting riches in half with a saw, dress up rich kids with a strwa and then burn them. It was all about killing the riches, i don't say it was ok or not ok but it was brutal as well.
Acualy Miszko 1 wasn't a King the first King of Poland is Bolesław Chrobry who was crowned in 1025
Pilots you were talking about were pilots of 303 polish squadron in R.A.F.
1364 - the cration of Akademia Krakowska which later became the Jagiellonian University.
The guy throwing coins is probably Janosik.
7:44: It was second World War. Exploits of the 303rd Fighter Squadron are something of a point of national pride for us.

@@aaergplay6022 that's a fact lol
I know this movie and i HATE it because it's super-chaotic. That's basically History of Poland movie for people who already know history of Poland.
I prefer this one. This one is in similar aesthetic style, but at least has some minimal educational value. You can understand what's going on:
ua-cam.com/video/Q88AkN1hNYM/v-deo.html
Ok but lets make it clear.
Mieszko wasn't King of Poland, he was prince. The first King of Poland was his son, Bolesław I Chrobry.
Polish pilots save England in battle of England, thats the true.
Poland is fed up with relying on allies who, in the end, will turn away from us ... That's why I am proud that the Polish government pumps a sea of money to the best military equipment and recruits the largest army in Europe
Imagine that still people from Western Europe think that there is poverty and communist backwardness in Poland, I am proud of my country and the fact that I am a Pole and we will deal with this government today as it used to be before :)
hello :-)

you really dont want to watch the polish tv Witcher series/movie it is absolutly horrendous. But it can be so bad its good at some parts.

I saw 5 videos for the polish independence aniversary they are amazing. The best is invencible .something like this . sorry
