Good tips….my tip would be stay put longer…a lot of gobblers will come in silent after you have stopped calling for a good while…they remember where that sweet little hen was…

Don’t get discouraged if a Tom doesn’t answer your calls and heads the other direction. Be persistent.😊

Greatest tip I could give anyone is to make sure you are hunting areas that hold turkey...if there's no turkey in the area you will get frustrated very quick

Tip know your woods nothing pays off like good woodsman ship and knowing your turkey behavior where they want to be preseason scouting is key to knowing the above skills. I start at the end of deer season usually late February early March but don’t actually start listening for gobblers until a month before season. A old turkey hunting wise tale is once the dogwoods start blooming then gobblers start gobbling so you can start earlier than a month before season mainly just to see where the birds are at .The reason I start getting serious about listening a month before season starts and not earlier is because the gobblers could change where they are at by the time the season starts. The most important tip is Patience!!!! And going back to woodsmanship if you posses that skill you can be a bad caller but if you know the woods and turkey behavior you kill more birds then someone who is a world class caller but don’t know the woods and turkey behavior. Also if you hunt private hunting area mark in your journal or put on your map where you have seen turkeys during deer season they won’t be far from where you saw them especially hen flocks. And remember like the guy said in this video locate strutting zones gobblers usually have more then one strut zone. Also if you’re new to turkey hunting don’t just watch hunting shows on Outdoor channel especially if they’re just hunting and not giving you advice on how to kill turkeys because most of the so called pros have a secret weapon a lot of people don’t know of and is they have guides on these places they hunt that know the turkeys and all the so called pro has to do is go hunting where that guide puts them that is why they kill a bunch of gobblers and these outfitters will pay these pro to hunt on their property so they can sell more hunts on these properties. If you want to learn how to hunt turkeys watch old hunting videos like were popular in the 80 and 90 because they were more informative videos then just killing videos. Like old Quaker Boy videos and Preston Pittman and knight and hale and old Primos and HS Strut especially with Eddie Salter, and some new videos that are good on You Tube are videos from Dale Outdoors. And read books about the Wild Turkey and videos from the National Wild Turkey Federation they also have tapes you can listen to Wild Turkey sounds and you can listen to them to learn how and when to call and learn what those calls mean to the Wild Turkey hope these tips help.
