I just bought one of these in bright red. Beautiful guitar. Lol I'm sure at my level I will be satisfied with it.
Thanks Dane. Good looking out
Any time!
Great review Dane. Solid video
Thanks for watching
I'm one of those new subscribers, just got a job at a used guitar shop, thanks for all the videos!😎
What's the name of your shop and where,s it at?
@@ZIMMSGUITARS I can say in about 6 weeks or so. Thanks again for your videos, my boss & I watch 'em a lot!👌😏
That's the cleanest control cavity I have ever seen from Glarry, they sent you a very good example, they normally aren't that good.
thanks for the review!
No problem!
Looks like the Ibanez AX 120 shape with a neck thru. Inside looks like the AX120 as well. The sparkle of the paint is like the Ibanez style as well.
Wow it's an official POS prs... Great Job Dane !
Hey man do you got any used rackmount stuff?
No i stay away from it.
Couldn’t you technically file down the slots in the bridge saddles a little to lower the action on the bridge side? But yeah. Wow.
Beautiful guitar
This is the only good review I’ve seen for this one. Thanks for being so thorough. I was considering getting one but not now with the action height being the way it is.
Glad it was helpful!
I have that Ibanez but put humbucker size p90 pickups.
Love anything that resembles this types of SG-Like Guitars
totally want to get one of this since the price is very unreal for such nice Guitar
i suggest you to look for FIREFLY Guitars in case you are unfamiliar with the brand?
This is the guitar Ibanez should have been making for the last decade.
I was thinking a locking roller bridge i saw would bring the height down but it not from the numbers i saw. the tuneomatic would bite into the body if you made the bridge ferrals sit deeper in the body. The roller bridge seems to have a flatter bottom but, says it would sit 2mm higher than what it came with. It was 12.6 mm over all height.
Nice, I really enjoy your videos.
Thank you
Looks good but will it fly
Respect for the honest review... one for the $100 hall, I guess
Nice Glarry!
Wow man this is such an awesome guitar I love it.😃👍❤️🔥⚡️🎶🎸
Thanks a lot!
It came with a relic screw and they didn't even charge extra for it? Awesome.
What Glarry needs to do is have a tech go through the guitars before they are shipped and check the nut and file if needed. The last Glarry Strat I recently got the action is awesome but it has an electronic issue I haven't been able to find/fix yet.
Same with my glarry, everything you could think of it on par with a 500 dollar bass EXCEPT anything to do with the electronics, it’s like they taped metal together instead of soldering
It has a body shape of a GAX 50 with a scratch plate, probably the same as the 70, my 50 is a 1999 not a bad guitar. I have to say my friend bought a Glarry P bass about 5-7 years ago and would have to say it was not very good. If they have gotten better its a good thing.
What doesn't make sense to me is Glarry is selling this for $179 and you can buy a REAL Ibanez AX120 brand new with free shipping on Reverb right now for $179. They were even cheaper right before Christmas. Glarry has a lot of work to do.
It is a nice looking guitar, but for a beginner too high of strings can be a real detriment. But it definetly seems like better quality than the other Glarry's I've seen.
I have a 1999 Ibanez GAX 50 that I got from a garage sale about 10-12 years ago that I paid $40 for. It has the same body shape but it has a bolt on neck and no fancy bridge system and no scratch plate. It's not a bad guitar. A friend of mine got a Glarry P bass and to me it felt cheap and looked cheap. Fret ends were very sharp and could not get the action right. I'm mostly a bass player and this bass was pretty bad in every way.
this, or Ibanez AX 120?
Don't go down this road. Ur a good tech, that's why I watch. I can find glary vids from anyone. Stay in ur lane
Thanks Dane, great video as always. Nice looking guitar. To me looks like an SG Gibson copy. Your absolutely right about the neck set and the nut. Going to a set in neck is a big step for Garry or any other low cost target Chinese company. Glarry did good sending you the guitar as they knew you would go through it with a fine tooth comb and reveal it's good points and short comings. It's a really good looking guitar. I hope Glarry does continue with the model with changes to better the instrument. The set neck is a big jump maybe go back to a bolt on neck would be a better manufacturing decision to better the instrument to make corrections easier in manufacturing the guitars. I agree and yes it looks like Glarry is trying to build better products. Each new model on first runs are prone for less than perfect results. That's fairly common. Hope Glarry learns from this and makes headway with this model. Thanks Dane and thank you Glarry for making the video possible. GOD bless and 73 Earnest K5EWM.
Nice honest review Dane, nice body style and fret markers but you cant beat a bolt on neck you can tweek your heart out,Cheers!
Very true!
It's not a neck-through guitar, it's a set-neck. Neck-through guitars are much less common and they cost a lot more.
Recess the bridge.
Maybe they will improve based on your review!
Ibanez ax120
Interesting. We don't really see these Amazon brands guitars out here much. But I wonder how these compare against say the Ibanez GIOs and other entry level guitars in around the same price range. The string action point seems pretty fatal. There also seems to be a crack in the fretboard (see @10:44 or so). Just curious, what do you do after polishing the frets with sandpaper to make sure fingers don't get black?
This seems to be a copy of Ibanez AX120. I’d like to see a comparison of the two.
swap out the bridge
Prob.better off with the Ibanez.its a big brand and it has better pickups
A thought was the addition of a zero fret but, then some raving loonie in the back of the brain yelled capo.
First look - seems that Glarry is "upping their game"... further look, "Glaring" (sorry, had to...) quality issues... thus, the stigma of owning/playing a Glarry is far too high for a seasoned guitarist...
Zimmster , that is a b guitar or a second , they sell there shit to glarry ! For $45 & glarry sells them for $99 , so if your a REAL luthier you could fix it to be playable , but it’s not woth your time , or talent
GIZ 102 (JIZ 102) Im sorry, the name Glarry is already a turn off, but the model number on this one is definitely a no go for me.
Really,a tortoise pick guard,on a blue body, wonder who came up with that combo?no taste I guess
That action is awful Dane!!
