Josh is my favorite. I've often cited his work on 13th Step by APC as my fav drumming (maybe ever, like on any album). I saw an old Dave Grohl interview where he spoke highly of Sepultura's Roots Bloody Roots. I didn't realize he even liked heavy stuff like groove or sludge metal. Early Foo had some gritty grungy songs like I'll Stick Around but as they progressed it did become a hair more generic, sanitized. Losing Taylor Hawkins has to be rough, but maybe it's an opportunity to re-invent. I have this theory about rock bands as they age too. Most bands soften over time, but why not go heavier? Wouldn't that make more sense with a singer's biological changes as he ages? Metaphorically, nobody went to a Bad Brains show for picture perfect singing. It was about being emotive. If Foo is really gonna work with Josh Freese, and you have a founding member of Grunge, man we haven't heard good Grunge or Sludge in years. Do an album where you let loose, forget about singles, and just rock the F out. You have these awesome core components that should be able to make the best grunge album of the last 25+ years. Just one fan's take, and I don't expect it'll reach the band, but by the mere chance that it could, I had to share that perspective. I'd bet there's others like me who are hungry for new good Rock/Metal/Grunge too. I can't be the only one.
I felt from day one that if the FF’s continued, it would be with Josh Freese behind the drums. He and Taylor were very close. Dave and Josh go way back too. And Josh can handle three hour gigs with ferocity but stay true to the original drum parts. There was really no other logical choice for me.
Damn i was hoping to be the foos new drummer. I know someone who knows dave and said hed put in a good word for me...guess they didnt want another younger dave in the lineup or he just didnt get the chance to put in that word lol.
He plays like he’s 20, holy crap. He’s really good 👍🏻
Exactly!!!
That ending is pure gold. Freese is truly one of the greats. What a wise - and satisfying choice..
Hiring a Punk drummer was the best idea ever!
They all come from punk bands except Rami
Stoked on this choice! JF is one of my favorite drummers. Plays with power, super energy, precise, and great musicianship. Can't ask for more.
"Shane Hawkins speed right there..." 😂😂

Hubiera estado bueno también Roger Taylor

He's good. He looks like he's trying too hard though. It's takes alot to play too fast for foo fighters I would think, but he's doing it.
He is trying to look like he is trying hard. He is so good the song sounds different.

Hate to say this but he sounds behind a tad… not on … if you’re ear is on you can tell the difference…
He sounds incredible
Too fast.
It sounds better
@@ThisisDustin No it doesn't. It's too fast.
Change the play back speed until it’s slow enough for ya
Ok. I’m ok with this. I will be at ACL’23 for this
