Interesting build. A question and some suggestions: Why run duplicates of the extenders since they’re all hard OPT? Insects have soooo many extenders: Fairyant, Zexstagger, Aztekipede, Primitive Butterfly, Dream Cicada, Assault Roller…Danger Mothman if you want to gamble. There’s no reason to double down on hard opt extenders in insects. Could also replace the Soma package, since I feel like it’s not worth the amount of garnets needed. Highly recommend Sting the Poison. It doubles as an automatic link 2, plus a negate if you revive it with Papillon/Cicada King Have you considered running Generaider Levaitaen instead of or alongside Hyper? It’s not a negate, but it’s SUCH a powerful interaction (steal 2). If you’re not opposed to floodgates, Scary Moth is quite accessible in the deck.
I feel much the same which sucks cuz Soma is actually a pretty good extender but the deck already has like 4-5 bricks at least. Sting was better starter when Baronne was still around I feel it wont feel that great till we get the new battlewasp cards tbh. My only gripe with the list is the starter to extender ratio given resonance and retaliating arent true strarters while typically require an extender. Plus for extenders dragonbite only good when you get to armorhorn or is making an hand with too many starters playable.
@@raihines8750 Sting is still really good, even without Baronne. In TCG format, I feel like it’s pretty hard to make Baronne regardless since Spright Elf is also banned. In Master Duel, it’s very easy to make Baronne, but regardless, Sting is one of your few cards that is a starter, extender, and interruption. No reason not to run at-least 1, especially if you’re running Pin already. Guaranteed Armor Horn if you didn’t open an extender. I would argue Arbalest is also a good card. But if you’re worried about bricks…probably not. I run Almiraj anytime I run Resonance. It gets you the search off Resonance plus opens you up to extend with cards like Fairyant, Assault Roller, and Aztekipede. I feel like, ESPECIALLY in a format without Maxx C, Retaliating is a 1-of at best. In this build, all it does is get you Resonance (although in my Punk/Insect deck, I also run Parasite Paranoid, which can also be searched off Retaliating). This build definitely needs a better selection of extenders and less hard OPT extenders. Dragonbite is another good 1-of. It’s rarely dead in-hand, but any more than 1 and you can start bricking on it. Like I said before, this list is running too many of the same extenders. More variety will reduce the amount of times you brick. Also…running more of the main deck Raikas. I know the original point of the build was no Raika main deck cards, but even just 1 each the main deck Raika insects can help a lot.
I’d replace the pots with additional copies of Soma and a Mighty Neptune, personally. Soma can be a really great starter and Neptune’s great for grind game scenarios. You could also maybe play a copy of Sting the Poison to use with Cicada king as an additional negate ( it can also be used as combo starter with it + reso in hand )
@@averagefronkle3122 I played a lot with insects deck, Neptune is not that relevant and I prefer to reduce the numbers of big insects to the minimum, I also cut the sting line, they are a weak starter compared to others, btw i agree with increase the nunber of soma, idk if 3 is too much but 2 could be life saving when the foe play an HT in the very start of the game
@@miriteomega5962I can see that with Sting, it’s only really a starter with another extender and that point you’d prefer having Reso. Though idunno, as an endboard piece you can repeatedly get out it’s nice. That said: I do think Neptune has gained a lot of value with the Raika stuff, since you can repeatedly bounce and search it. Makes it so that you have a TON of recycling ability compared to before.
