This was my first overnighter in a hot tent and I really enjoyed it. As well as Amy :) Here is the link to the tent if you are interested: bit.ly/3p7t5tD
did you carry all of your equipment in that one bag or is this multiple trips to the camp. I'm kind of curious if this entire system would fit in a standard issue Molly pack or is this something you would have to carry separately.
Hi Lilly :) Can I ask, when did you last put wood in the stove, and was there any coals burning in the morning, and what was the temperature roughly at night? (just a guess) and Iv'e enjoyed many of your videos for years now and thank you :)
I'm glad you started using your new tent. I hope that it will give you a lot of pleasant emotions and allow you to enjoy the beautiful nature in any cold weather. A couple of notes ... Removable metal screens on the side walls of the stove serve not only to protect the glass during transportation. They have other important functions. Firstly, the walls of the fired oven are very hot, and the protective screens will prevent you and your dog from getting burned on them. Second, when the screens are removed, the oven heats the tent heavily through infrared radiation. And when they are installed, there is some distance between the screen and the glass. The stove sucks in air from below, and it comes out from above. Thus, convection currents of hot air are formed, which heats the tent space like an oil heater. That is, you thus largely change the type of heating in accordance with your needs. The oven tent is designed in such a way that the higher you are from the floor, the higher the temperature. I noticed that you were sleeping on the floor. In not too severe frost, this is permissible, but if it is -30 or -40 degrees Celsius overboard, it is better to use a folding bed. You can buy any, or buy a bed produced by the same company "Bereg". In this case, you will sleep at a height of 30-40 cm from the floor, and you will be much warmer. Good luck to you! And greetings from Russia!
It was great seeing how you set up your tent, with a floor, chair, stove, and bedding for you and Amy. Very nice! I admire your adventurous spirit! I'm thankful for you, and for you sharing this with us!!!
I like the stove with the glass sides. I could lay down in the tent and watch the fire all night. Thanks for the video. It looked like a nice place to camp.
This looks awesome! Makes me want to gout right now!! Since it is a large tent and not really back-packing, I recommend getting a collapsible rake and a collapsible shovel for the kit to prep the floor of the forest for the pad. This will make it much nicer to your feet and even back if you lay on the ground. Can also prevent damage to the floor mat. I also use a cot with hoop legs, like the legs of your chair. This is not so much for comfort as for space because you can stow your gear under it and save the floor space for walking, food prep, etc.
I bought the UP-2 with insulated floor , two large cots , and stove. Even came with smoke detector and batteries. I ordered mine via email conversations straight from Siberia. Shipping and all the items came to $1500. , which I think is a deal !! My space is 11.5 ' in diameter which gives me tons of space for two people. Love this tent.
You seem to get the coolest equipment ever. I love the ease of putting up the tent. The stove looked great. Easy to put together. And Amy is just beautiful and full of energy. Please keep up the videos. I love your voice it calms my soul.😘😘
This looks to me as the Ultimate car camping (hot) tent set up. All that I’d add is the ice chest of food and beer, a cot, and the right location!! Thank you for this demonstration and the link!
.. Nice hot tent setup... in heavy snow and wind conditions , the extended flap material at the bottom can be covered with snow to help weight it down plus help prevent cold air flow from the bottom .. .. I must have missed something ,,, what holds up the tent structure when you remove he support pole ?? .. ... Amy is pure entertainment ,, easy to see how much joy she gives to you... I have never seen you smile so much ,, pets can be the best medicine .... ..... Stay Safe and God Bless .....
Your smile while playing with Amy and sharing your supper with her was the highlight of the video for me. I am watching your video while lying on my bed with my two golden retrievers as company !
The bestest night's sleep you will ever have is in the forest on a winter night with your dog! First rate gear! Tent looked very cozy. Nice setup! Regards from Phoenix, Az. USA. Rob
Love the tent!! I would love one of those just for my back yard! Your video made me smile and forget the madness going on these days! A Huge Thank You 😊💙
FYI, IF you are car camping etc, place a thick piece of soapstone on top of the stove & use a heat activated fan & will have more radiant heat. I also have a water tank attached which retains/radiates the heat. Wood can burn fast in these thin walled small stoves.
Hi Lilly, I really enjoyed your video. This hot tent is brilliant, with every imaginable feature, including a wood burner stove, unbelievable! and all round triple layer construction. The ultimate in luxury camping. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
@@kejadventures241 Its an ambiguous neologism that means blending in; crypsis. You would be very surprised what people will or will not detect when they are walking down a path. If you have a bright yellow tent 50 meters from a forest pathway it may be seen.
@@kejadventures241 Yeah because if someone has negative intent there is no correlation between them noticing you and interacting or just walking on past. Oh wait, you're just thick lol
Love your reviews of new gear/equipment/methods that people can use for their own use. Looks like a great tent and stove set up. And Amy is so adorable!! Just want to run and play with her so much!!! Really miss our dog ( we lost her after a long and healthy life. She loved to go camping and hiking.) Thank you for sharing. Gott segne from the USA.
Funny, I was just wondering why oh why they decided to use glass for an outdoor stove. Well, I suppose it's kind of romantic when you can watch the flames. :D
Really like that tent. The camo is superb. 3 layers of insultation you can use in all seasons. Floorless bottom you can use as an ice fishing shack and a hot tent also. : - )
Probably too late now, but if you are thinking of buying one because of the great camouflage pattern and colours, DON'T! I made multiple purchases because of the "great looking camouflage and colour". HUH! Within 3 days the colour changed to red, pink and brown. Horrible. One tent had been in shade all the time, others partly in sun, partly shade. Lots of rain though. All things considered, it was apparent after being examined by a dye expert that the the fasting of the dyes was the problem. Unfortunately the seller/manufacturer doesn't want to know and continues to sell these tents. I've lost thousands £s because the tents are no longer fit for purpose.
Impressive tent! Warms my heart how much you love Amy ♥️. Good to see you using your drone; must be a bit challenging in the forest. Good job getting tent back in carrier. Thank you for such a pleasant video.
It's been a while. It is nice to see you again. Well made video. Great camera work, sound and editing. You've introduced us to some really interesting products as well. Your puppy looks healthy, happy and full of energy. Thank you for another great video. Be safe - Be well
Very fun! So huge axe, saw, oven, stove, tent, sheep’s wool, sleeping bag... do you have a huge truck to carry all that stuff in! Pretty elaborate setup. Thanks
Great video!!! Finally you got to put your hot tent to use!!! It looked quite cozy and comfy! Great shots with your drone!! And Amy is just funny and full of energy!! Hope to see a few more vids with your hot tent before the winter is over!!
Hi Lilly. It seems the manufacturers appreciate your' expertise. They send you some really nice products to review. The tent, the chair, the stove are all great products. Expensive but, you get what you pay for. Amy is a nut cake. Another great video Lilly. Thanks.
It's always a treat to wake up on a Saturday and see Lily showing us how it's done. You made setting up that tent and stove look easy. Also, was that Amy breathing heavily near your food while you were cooking your eggs? 😂😂
thanks for sharing Lilly, can't wait to get one of those tents for myself. I'm gonna go with the UP5 though since I'm somewhat larger than you and you looked a little cramped [I think you've got a UP2 mini]. Loved watching you batoning with that APO... gonna get one of those for myself too. Looks like a great knife! hot tip, you can carry a small vile with olive oil in it and use just a 'smidge' [just enough to put a thin film] in your pot for cooking, then after cleaning another smidge brought to smoking point and removed from heat will 'season' even the steel pot you're using. Makes for easier cook/clean the next time around.
Enjoyed the video! You make it all look so easy and fun and having the pooch along just makes it look even cozier. You're cute, too! Greetings from Maine, USA!
Just found your UA-cam site, thank you for making the video you answered some questions I had about the wood stove set up. Amy was so funny, helping you with the big stick. It was a pleasure to watch your video. Have a great day, can’t wait to watch more of your adventures. 😃
Wow, what a wonderful setup for a tent ,huh! Comforts of home where you need be, also, your pups having a lot of fun! great video. hello from Minnesota.
That is one beautiful dog. I've seen a number of videos on this tent. You did a great job reviewing it as always. I have to say the people who created this tent are geniuses. They thought of everything. Love your videos. You're just so real and unpretentious. You also cover many topics. You sure know your onions when it comes to bushcrafting. Much love from Long Island, New York.
That dog is adorable. I usually season my pans with some type of vegetable oil, but I'd bet you could've done it with a small strip of that bacon. Makes it like teflon. Water rinse the pan after cooking, season it once more and it's good to go for the next meal. Everyone has their own way of doing it, though.
Just got your knife (APO-1S) and just wanted to say how much I love it. It is really high quality and well designed. I'm glad there is a Canadian distributer now!
