- John Bunyan wrote this song for Pilgrims Progress
The tune is called Monk's Gate
Who would true valour see,
let him come hither;
one here will constant be,
come wind, come weather;
there's no discouragement
shall make him once relent
his first avowed intent
to be a pilgrim.
Whoso beset him round
with dismal stories,
do but themselves confound,
his strength the more is.
No lion can him fright:
he'll with a giant fight,
but he will have the right
to be a pilgrim.
Hobgoblin nor foul fiend
can daunt his spirit;
he knows he at the end
shall life inherit.
Then, fancies, fly away;
he'll not fear what men say;
he'll labour night and day
to be a pilgrim.
One of my all-time favorite songs
Encouraging words! This pilgrimage is worth endlessly more than all the wealth the earth holds. Thanks Joe! I agree with Les; more of your beautiful kids playing in the background is good :)
Well done, brother. Loved Ruthie and Josephine's fly-by as well. Keep 'em coming.
Beautiful song! Blessings
Thank you. A favorite poem of mine
Love this channel, best songs.
I'd love to see you do King Alfred's War Song with a group of guys!
