Shane saw that somebody was laying bricks or tile or something at their family mansion, and he just said "hey are you hiring?" and the guy was like "Yeah I'll pay you $12 an hour to apprentice" and that was that. Dude was smart enough to get a job that didn't even require him to leave the house. Apparently he busted his ass for the guy too.

He was a cool guy. I'm sure he just like any wrestler could be intense but you gotta ask yourself why? Probably because the other person did something that other wrestlers find offensive. I can't remember who said it but JBL was more or less Undertaker's prosecutor in the locker room along with Ron Simmons and Bob Holly when it came to stuff like wrestlers court, so he was one of the guys who kept people in line so they wouldn't try to kill each other over a rib or not shaking hands. I tell people all the time when I itemize expenses as an independent contractor that you dont make as much as people think you do. I'm definitely loving all the videos and cant wait for the next one to drop.
I tried to get into the business years ago. (I have a different look being Chinese, Japanese and Hawaiian) UPW (Cena was the Prototype there) accepted me but the 9-11 tragedy stopped the move in 2001. Had a match with Yuji Nagata and another with Dragon Gate. Did a Chikara event with Generico, Fire Ant, Eddie Kingston and others. Teddy Hart moonsaulted on my head. Almost had a match with AJ Styles. My FCW tryout was with AJ Lee and Adam Rose. I got to do a promo in front of the Legendary Dusty Rhodes. I had a smackdown tryout where I helped a run in with Matt Hardy. It was a short run but my regrets are not getting to meet and learn from all of the wrestlers from that time.
I was a worker for 10 years (weekender) but never near the exhausting, back breaking point of wrestling on the road constantly. Search "Best Neckbreaker in Wrestling History".
Due to this, I have absolutely no injuries or addictions. I've gone through tables, took huge moves (ex. hit a top rope DDT, did I mention Teddy Hart moonsaulted on my head, etc)
Much respect to the Pros who sacrifice their body to the Sport.
And much love to everyone on their path. I hope you get farther than me.

@Tranceplant82 Not saying I 100% agree with Bob. Just giving a perspective.
He didn't need to go as far as he did, though.

Starting to really like this channel, nice view on the subjects given by Maven. Looking forward to see more coming. I liked the explanation on the downside guarantee/pay sheets a lot too. Makes me wonder @MavenKHuffman how everything worked in regards to marketing like the action figures, the video games, commercials etc. was this all WWE regulated and you were paid royalties for it, much like the DVDs, or paid one off bonusses like with PPVs? you being in a video game for instance; you were an "independent" contractor as you explained, therefore, would the character depiction be something for you to get paid for directly (portrait rights?) or was this all WWE (which was obviously the main title of the game always) and they paid a percentage based on the actual sales?
Thanks for setting up the channel Maven! keep it coming! :)

Dude if you want to laugh, laugh, don't change or tone yourself down. It's your channel and we're here because you have a great personality for these videos. Screw the losers who shit their diapers over such a trivial thing. You're doing a cracking job brother, love these 🤘

Loving Maven's videos. For the next of this series, would love to know what he thought of the other Tough Enough contestants who made it to the WWE - Josh, Nidia and Nowinsky

The students caring about him that much proves this dude is a good dude. Kids hate fake people and it takes a lot for them to think youre cool enough to care about.
