- Learn to drive like a rally driver in this tutorial on how to drift on gravel. In part 3 of the Thrill of Driving Tutorials with the Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport we demonstrate the art of driving sideways on gravel, dirt and other low traction surfaces. Using techniques demonstrated in part 1 and 2 of this very same series, we now go into the advanced skills needed to slide a car on gravel. Editor Sirish Chandran uses his years of rallying expertise to take you through this detailed tutorial, starting from the basics of what corner speeds to carry, what gear to be in, turn-in technique, how to dial in opposite lock and where to look. This tutorial is performed with a front-wheel-drive SUV and we demonstrate how to use the throttle to pull the car out of the slide and how to carry speeds through the corners just like rally drivers. Practical tips include how to practise, when to take a break and analyse the techniques, how to keep fatigue at bay, how to prevent damage to the car and much more. Pull out your notebooks and take notes.
Get ready to kick up some dirt! This one is all about going sideways on a dirt track. In this episode, our editor, Sirish Chandran, will teach you how to drift on a dirt track. Dirt offers low grip which makes it easier to drift at low speeds and helps you learn the technique. Watch the video and make sure you practice everything on a closed-off road like a go-kart track. Special thanks to Mahindra for letting us borrow the XUV300 TurboSport to help us give you these advanced driving tutorials.
This is the third of the 3-part Season 2 of Thrill of Driving Tutorials featuring the Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport. Below are the links to the first two parts.
Part 1: How to launch a manual car, heel and toe downshifts and how to use the hand brake: • How to launch a manual...
Part 2: How to slide / drift a FWD car on tarmac: • How To Drift Or Slide ...

*I really love doing wheelspins in my Alto 800 and it happens more frequently since it feels like a Golfcart!! Trying to acquire some drift skiils too when I can afford for fuel and mods someday* 😅
Hahaha! Be careful though. Burnouts will wear tyres quicker.
@@evoIndia Having 10yo tyres with 60% tread so I'm doing the wheelspins tension free since tures need replacement sooner 😎
Thanks for this video. Am proud owner of XUV300 tgdi and am surely gonna try this..
You're welcome Ravi. Please ensure you are trying this in a closed and safe environment. Please adhere to safety measures like wearing a helmet, putting your seatbelt on and wearing gloves while trying this.

thank you!
Will be more useful if u guys make this video little bit slower while demonstrating how to do it..
Especially on.. turing the steering wheel, diping clutch, using handbrake, then return the steering wheel..these shorts need a little bit of slow motion..and need step by step demonstration while showing..
Its a simple nd humble opinion from my side..
Anyway its a great video..nd very useful for us to get into an advanced level with free of cost nd..got a great master as well❤❤❤
Keep going on..team evo❤❤
Aye, thanks for sharing your thoughts, Suresh! We shall keep those in mind while making the next season! :D
Imagine doing this on RWD Hatchbacks !!
I used to Slide my 2006 Swift on the ground, the only thing I missed was the power on the rear wheels.
🔥🔥

Will do 👍🏼
Yes - I am excited to attend the event ❤
❤
Thanks😁
I have kia sonet imt.. can i do with it..?
A bit more difficult but not impossible. You would need a lot of practice.
I hope you didn't had to change your link rods. 😅
Is there any chance of rollover ?
At higher speeds, yes.
Very little chance unless you hit something with your outside wheels while sliding
Can i do this in a car with abs
Yes, you can.
Yes you can 👍🏼
Is it possible with electric handbrake?😅
Absolutely not. You'll need an aftermarket hydraulic handbrake.
your wheels will lock in 3 - 4 working days 😅
I think your a JCB Driver 😂😂
Pretty sure many will not try this with their personal car. This is where rent a car comes to the rescue. 😬
Haha! You found a loop hole!
Rental car is always the fastest car
Well i do often do wheelspins in my Alto
How much speed maintaine
50-60kmph in corners
We would suggest start with slow speeds, as Sirish recommends in the video. Build your speed gradually.
Drift? FWD?
Is it a drift or a slide, Azhar?
@@evoIndia Slide
oh so ricer is already here 😂
Drift.
🤘
✌️
You cant drift a FWD car, all you're doing is sliding the tail with a jerky movement/ hand brake and you cant sustain it because FWD life bro
Thanks for this video. Am proud owner of XUV300 tgdi and am surely gonna try this..
Awesome! Please try this only in a closed and safe environment. Ensure you are wearing your seatbelt, helmet and gloves while trying it.
@@evoIndia absolutely noted.
