- We ran four Mahindra XUV700 for a total of 24 hours, attempting to break the previous Indian speed endurance record which was set at 3161km . We smashed the previous record by a huge margin, with the lead XUV hitting 4384km while averaging over 180kmph over the whole 24 hours. This is the story of how it happened.

I am a fan of Mahindra now for last three years ever since I owned an xuv 300. Aside from the many trips, had done a 37 hours non stop from bangalore to delhi during first lock down and took a break for overnight then continued for another 24 hours till Srinagar. The car did not make us feel any downsides at all. Looking forward to go for an xuv700 now.

This is great 👍🏼 . Good to do these kind of endurance races which actually make sense . I would definitely like to see a endurance competition between tata , mahindra and maruti , hyundai . Endurance races make a lot of sense since it's more about the car rather than driver's skill or overtaking ability or any other variable . Keep the cars stock and run them to see which can handle 24h . That would be good .

Xuv700 ax5 misses out on lot of features like push button start, cruise control, power foldable mirrors, auto ac etc its very disappointing to see such features are missing in 23L car (23L on road for ax5 diesel automatic)
AX5 has power operated ORVM and on road price is 21L

I agree Cruise control should be standard irrespective of the trim. Its not even a premium feature come on Mahindra!!!!

i have xuv 500 bs6 with a scorpio bs4 diesel fuel filter which hitted 210-215kmph & irony is when i changed it to bs6 xuv 500 fuel filter topspeed came back to 190 kmph max . so @210kmph i felt it had more so taking into account 210kmph for 24hrs XUV 500 can do 5040kms at ease . so all those shocking fans should have basic number crunching . in normal day on highway i do 1000km in 12hrs , so this is not much shocking to me than the background music which was giving way over hype. without traffic & contionus topspeed we can do this task at ease . my highest was 70km in

Great achievement. How did the petrol and diesel automatics fare? Was not mentioned in the end . Was there any issues with the automatic transmission variants?
All four XUV700s ran without a hitch during the record run. The diesel automatic and the petrol automatic covered a distance 4232.01km and 4155.65km respectively
