  • Have you ever wanted to know how a Centurion D5 Evo gearbox system operates?
Well here is a complete video.
It is common for Centurion D5 evo gate motors be fitted at most residential and some business properties.
The Centurion range of sliding gate motors are well known.
The centurion D5 Evo has proven that it is the best gate motor to use in automating your steel sliding gate system.
The gearbox system of the Centurion gate motor is a all steel system and it is very robust.
breakages of the Centurion gate motor system are unheard of.
a here and there failure to engage into gear is not common.
To repair such a fault, the gearbox system needs to be stripped of from the plastic base section.
The Centurion gearbox system consists of 4x steel roller bearings.
of the 4x bearing only one is a sealed bearing.
Parts are regularly available should your gate motor gearbox system malfunction.
the steel main shaft is held in place by 2x steel bearings
te steel worm gear is also held in place via 2x steel bearings.
the electrical motor is connected to the gearbox system via a plastic coupling system
the steel main drive shaft houses the steel gate motor pinion gear which is secured via a steel pin which locks the pinion gear in place, a washer and circlip holds the steel pinion gear in place.
The main shaft also houses the main steel drive gear.
the main steel drive gear is locked into place by a square pin which is under constant tension.
a plastic push pin is found on the inside of the steel main drive shaft.
The manual release pin pushes this pin into the main drive shaft in order to move the clutch locking pin in further into the system. The pin will push the drive gear looking pin away from is locking slots and as such the gate motor will be placed onto the manual position.
Unscrewing the manual release knob will cause the manual release pin to lessen the tension on the clutch system and as such the clutch will again engage the gate motor into gear when tye manual knob is screwed out far enough. Unscrewing the manual release knob will only cause it to fall out completely, the user would need to screw the manual release knob in again in order to keep it in place. "make sure the manual release knob does not ride onto the clutch system.
placing the gate motor onto manual is easily achieved, by screwing the manual release knob clock wise into the motor. The release knob does not need to be screwed in with much power.
When the release knob has reached its position, then one will be able to move the steel sliding gate by hand as the gate motor is onto the manual position.
Placing the gate motor in gear is easy, by unscrewing the manual release knob in a anti clock wise direction.
Make sure that the manual release knob is screwed far enough out to prevent "clutch riding" which could cause oil leaks.
After repairing the gate motor make sure that the correct oil amount is filled into the gearbox.
The oil dipstick does indicate the amount of oil needed for the gearbox system
overfilling the gearbox oil level will cause the system to leak and it will cause the gate motor system to malfunction.
